Picked up a Koken 3/8 z ratchet set. I reall only work on my wifes car, my car, and my project car and for me its 3/8 for 95% of the car work and the other 5% is 1/2 M18 bolt ripper from hell for rust belt underbody/suspension work.
I colored filled the socket sizes.
Really mad that this is a skip size set and they don't make those sockets in skipped sizes. (not that I need those sizes my brain is just made that 9mm and 20mm is missing.
The only time I’ve ever used a 20 was on a control arm camber adjuster on a Pacifica van. And all I needed there was a wrench anyway. Missing the 9 n 20 will probably never impact you but I do understand the OCD aspect, I suffer from that too. 😆

The only way to make sure you’ll never use a 20mm socket is to have one to scare away the 20mm head hardware that would no doubt be everywhere if you didn’t have the socket.

Pretty sure they are made by Kastar

EDIT: A bit of googling seems Kastar was a Lang company for more professional grade products. Back in 2011 the Lang family (A&E Incorporated) consolidated their other brands, Kastar, HiTech, and Star, under the Lang Tools name. I don't recall reading that before. I still see the Kastar branded sets available from time to time.
Good Sleuthing, you are correct I forgot about Kastar.

I like how you colored them, care to share the process? Thanks and enjoy, I love my KOKEN Z

Hit a couple of garage sales and picked up some drawer fillers, the arch punches and klien side cutters set me back $13

Looks like Marson has went offshore (Taiwan) with their gold standard rivet gun.
Build quality appears good.
Still disappointing. :-(

That is disappointing.

They did move production at least once around over the years, but always kept it in the USA. Mine is a Chelsea, MA iteration, but I have seen ones made in Stoughton.

Who knows?
A couple of Carlyle wrenches in 26mm and 27mm. A Pferd file card that is long overdue. And a tool of a different kind. I decided to upgrade to a newer GPS with an integrated dashcam. Unfortunately it's needed. Kinda funny on the GPS part though. I don't really use it. I prefer going off of memory/experience and a Road Atlas. The live traffic updates can be helpful on occasion though. Otherwise I prefer to keep it old school. Plenty of ways to get around if you don't limit yourself to the interstates.

Haven't used my GPS in ages, but do use the Google Maps app (Android phone).

The app is good, because it'll warn you about traffic, find detours, etc. You can choose to avoid highways and tolls.

It's not great at choosing (or remembering) local shortcuts, so I often just start driving away from its suggested route until it figures out what I'm doing, and stops trying to make me turn back to the route it picked for me.

I mainly stopped using the GPS because its map database was outdated (and either not upgradeable, or not for free).

Backup cameras would be nice for a few of my vehicles.

And, I really should invest in a trucker / RV GPS to keep me away from low overpasses with the RV...

Gotcha.

This one has free updates. I update it a few times a year. There is a backup camera that can be used with this, but I don't know whether it is wireless, or has a long set of wires.

Fwiw, even with this trucker gps, I still don't fully trust the hight restrictions on it. The Rand McNally Road Atlas is pretty accurate, but even then I keep my eyes open.

I'm looking to put a reflective material on the backside so the heat doesn't make it black out like the old one.

Is there a reason cars will not allow the backup camera to be turned on when driving? That would be a great option to have. But all built in backup cameras seem to shut down when going forward with no way to turn them on while going forward for a rear view cam. Given how horrible the rear view is in most newer cars since the late 90s (style over function?), it would really help to have rear facing cameras in cars that can be active while driving forward!! Or at least something for better checks in rear quarters where you have blind spots in mirrors. Some collision avoidance alerts sort of do that but with no provision for visual verifications.

I have been assuming from the lack that this must be illegal or some fear of lawyers (you distracted me lawsuits?).

Because we expect you to be looking where you're going, not where you've been?

Put a camera on the back if you want to know happened back there--but it isn't as important as what's in front of you.

I think modern visibility problems are related to improved rollover protection, but I don't keep up with new car stuff like I used to.

I rented a Chevrolet SUV about five years ago where the rear view mirror was also the screen for the backup camera, and a mirror, and you could press a button and use the rear hatch camera and the screen -- without the backup assist lines. It gave a fantastic view of the world behind you, and I preferred it to the mirror's view.

Once you get into RV's and towing I don't think you can have enough cameras and views!

I am mostly surprised features like you refer to here on the Chevrolet SUV are not more standard in new cars. Generally, I would think the more cameras and views the better insofar as the driver does not get too distracted fiddling with them. As you say, it can help hugely with any vehicle towing. The existence of the camera on the Chevrolet SUV suggests that the general lack of active cameras for forward driving is not linked to regulations. On my lawyer and lawsuit speculation that manufacturers could fear distracted driver lawsuits (... it was not MY fault due to that camera!) I do not know.

@lund I have a bluetooth amzn backup camera I use when towing the car trailer. I like to insure straps and load stay where they should be. $100 bucks and it can stay on all the time.
YMMV
Bluetooth can't transmit video, let alone decent quality audio in real time. It might be using Bluetooth to initiate a different wireless connection.
