Was looking to be able to use hex bits on ryobyi drivers with magnetic holders so the tekton square to hex magnetic set, then thought if magnet doesn't hold need quick disconnect. Purchased, untested, to be determined.

I see it at least has a slot for a rip fence. I have no idea what the one I use on my Skil is from, as Skil doesn't come with one either--but they're common at yard sales, which is strange considering nothing seems to come with one....
Beerhippie,

My father’s 6 1/2” Craftsman came with one. He most likely purchased it after they bought the house in 1956. I have never seen another new saw delivered with that accessory. .

Probably the people purchasing these toss them in a drawer for their descendants to harvest them for yard sales.

I’d be interested on a thread about your knife sharpening journey. Have you tried it on any chisels yet?

I'll try to put together something this afternoon. I haven't tried it on chisels or plane irons yet--those are where a tool rest of some sort would be really nice, so I may have to make one.

Slightly unusual dead blow stuff.

Halder 3380.040 Secural rectangular faced dead blow hammer 680g (24oz)
Came across this while looking for an extra deadblow size, seemed like the shape could come in handy. The grip is fine although to my surprise is hard plastic. The weight is for the whole hammer, not just the head (seems to be a thing with deadblows). I think the size suits the shape, and the bigger 1kg (35oz) model is only 5mm more on each axis and has a long head to make the weight.

Halder 3408 Drop mallet & punches kit
Inspired by the "Tools to have in order to avoid abusing other tools" thread. The two larger ones are dead blow, and officially "hand hammers" but could also be considered punches. Tips are replaceable. The fancy box seems a little unwarranted. Also sold as Facom but only individually.

Not a typical tool, but a tool none the less 🙂. Brings back childhood memories.

I vividly remember chewing through entire pencils trying to get a perfectly sharp point. Sometimes, it was just fun...

I always hung my leaky grease gun over the side of the trash can. It came up missing so I assumed it went out with the trash. I replaced it with this gun and bought this holder that catches the drips.

I keep mine in a 5-gallon bucket, after learning (the hard way) that I have no clue how to stop them from leaking.

More stuff for my rainwater cistern cleanout job. I wanted a shop-vac with the big hose, since both my current shop vacs have the little hose, and plug up like crazy. I borrowed my sister-in-law's Rigid shop vac a while back and really liked it, so that's the brand I went for. I bought the biggest one Home Depot had:

I got a couple extra extension pipes to get me to about 8'. That way I can clean the cistern without having to go down in it.

It worked great. It only plugged up a couple times when I sucked up a couple big rocks and brick chunks. I literally ran it for about six straight hours, sucking up muddy, rocky slop, only stopping to empty it probably 15 times. I even sucked up a live lizard! I don't know how he got down in there (in Ohio no less), but he survived the slurp, and he's dumped out behind my barn now, lol.

I also bought the small shovel, just in case things didn't work out and I had to go down inside. Thankfully I didn't need it.

What does it turn back? Time? If so, I want one!
Rear brake caliper pistons on calipers that have a mechanical parking brake operating on them. They have a screw thread on the pistons that keeps them from being pushed back. There are oodles of different required pin patterns for the spanner. The cube gets most of them. Cars with electric parking brakes can often be asked to retract them for you with a scan tool.

I don't have a picture of the actual one is it's in my toolbox, but I picked this up this morning and wish I would have had one decades ago. The rubber o-ring keeps it from slipping while rotating and the magnets hold the cap and the spring so they don't fall out. A little pricey but for the frustration that it saved already worth every penny.Screenshot_20250916_204014_Snap-on.jpg

I don't work on brakes often enough to spring $60+ on that, but I'd definitely buy one for $30!

I have a 1/4 mile long gravel driveway, and it is nearly impossible to keep maintained with my 5' box blade. On top of that, my 5' Bush Hog has seen better days. It is also too small for my tractor and doesnt allow me to get up close to fence rows. Additionally, a few years ago for my birthday, my wife got me a 3 point quick hitch for my tractor, but zero of my hand me down implements are compatible.

So I got myself a few new toys...

Land Pride GS2596 - 8 foot land leveler. I have been wanting one for years. You can tell by the dust I put it to use already.

Land Pride RCF2084 - 7' Rotary Cutter

This thing is enormous. The pictures don't do it justice. It is 11' long! My tractor is a hair over 6' wide so this will let me get a little closer to the fences.

I also had to add a few hundred pounds of suitcase weights to the front of my tractor, this cutter was making the front a little light.

I will say though, quick hitch compatible is used loosely. These two pieces for so tight, that if you do not line it up perfectly, it will not fit.

You can see on this side, it is actually rubbing.

Here is the other side.

Is that ear squarely mounted? It's very hard to tell from that picture, but it looks bent in.
