I'm building a grill table/cart and there's enough pocket hole joinery that when I saw my lumberyard was having a sale on Kreg stuff, I decided to upgrade from the little plastic clampy thing. I'm also installing three euro-hinged doors, so I got the hinge jig too.
I've got several projects I'm thinking about where the pocket hole jig will be super-handy and the hinge kit will for a couple of them too.
The cart will look like this, though shorter and with another large cabinet section. I'm also probably going to top it with some leathered granite.
Going to use cedar too, but emulate the board-and-batten our house is constructed of, and paint it the same color as the house (which we painted in the last couple weeks). Should look nice.

Nice... Whats the COO on the box? China or Taiwan? Gearwrench seems to make tools in both (along with other places).

So a fellow GC'er, Dan (@bitbelt) has a new product for holding bits... It's pretty simple, but works quite nicely! He sent me a sample of it.
It only works with 'groovy' (grooved) bits, and is pretty simple in design, but it just works. A couple of pics. I've think they are now available online at https://bitbeltorganizer.com?

Added the 25" pry bar today.
Nut drivers are controversial? Sure, if you're cheap and like losing sockets.
Another discovery in the sedimentary layers as I dig out in the shop. August 2024 purchase. I dropped my face shield and it broke in a terminal fashion. Couldn't find a sales record at the website of the Bezos space program.
Found out 3M makes one, sold! This one has a ratcheting knob for the head strap, like a hardhat suspension adjuster, not a row-of-dots-and-nubbins adjuster like a trucker cap or my last face shield, which I probably got at Lowe's.
$37.88 before tax last year, now a little more. Came in two bags. Technically it's headstrap-and-front-plate, and just the shield, snaps in with a brief bit of brain usage.

I have stuff from GW that's made in Taiwan and it compares 9/10, especially the sockets. Even the wrench quality seems decent. For $35, I think it's a bargain for the quality and this makes a perfect car set.

my local store was running a 20% off clearance items saturday and sunday. i picked one up for another cool 7 bucks off, a no brainer.

there is a bit of extra room in the case as well. i have a small fabric bag that fits in there and it will get loaded with a couple pliers, a multibit screwdriver and a small adjustable. perfect for under the seat of the truck. there is no shortage of gearwrench hate but quality of the tools looks and feels good. can't be beat for the price.

I agree, I feel like with a pair of knock-off Kobalt pliers wrench / Cobra's along with a Klein 11-in-1, your all set for the road. I like the bag since it doesn't rattle around and the fabric / nylon that holds the sockets seems durable.
This set might be the best bang for your buck this holiday go-around.

my gripe and it is a small one. this set is very close to being ideal. most sets , even larger ones, only have a couple wrenches. you get ten here but as i always say. every set should include wrenches up to 3/4 and 19mm. a couple more wrenches and this set would be out of the park.
okay......ditch the bit adapter socket and include a bit holding driver. now i am just being picky but i am not wrong.

I've been using one of those 3M shields for years--a major upgrade over the cheap-*** ones I used to use. I had a piece of a 3" cut-off wheel from a die-grinder go right through one of the cheap ones and decided it was time to raise the bar.

I like my 25' Klein tape I bought on sale so much that I decided to get the 16' version as well. I lost my favorite wire strippers replacing outlets in a residence last week so I had to replace those, went with the only ones I really like in this style. I think I have a pair of old Kleins somewhere but nobody makes a better pair of strippers than Ideal in my opinion. I decided to try this Wiha tool pouch for all my random drill/driver bits so I don't have to carry multiple boxes of whole sets for one job...
I have several of the new Fiskars utility knives and love them. Yes, they're made in China, but the quality is flawless, and they have excellent ergonomics.

Not brand new but brand new to me, I rescued a vintage 50's-60's Allen-Bradley 805 foot pedal switch left for dead laying in the cold wet mud at the junk yard, cord cut, snowed over with paint over spray and melted fab polymer gunk.
Brought it home, wirewheeled it with a.....uh cup brush on my drill. Inside is factory fresh and dry. Thanks to the cork gasket.
Put on some yellow Knox brand rubber three wire cable newish plug ends. Its an early present for my humble bench top drill press.
Shes good to go!

its the best utility knife I have ever used. Push the button and you can flick it open and closed fast and with very little effort. Also the material is excellent for griping and its a good ergonomic shape.

I think I now have 20 or 21 different Snap-on and Bluepoint hammers. Still on my list to get are:
BF633. I missed one in ebay last weekend. So they are out there.
BF619, the donkey d hammer. I've seen couple for sale in the last 6 months
BF614. This ones easy. Just need to find a reasonably priced one.
BF613. I saw one recently in Ebay and bid on it, but just not enough.
BF601. There was one in Ebay in June-ish. I had just come from my trip to Tokyo and was out of funds. I don't know if I will ever see another one.
(And the other ones from legends and fairytales: Bluepoint BF602, BF605, BF607, BF609)

My last 2 Zoro 20% off coupons I've added to my collection of pullers. I don't use them much, but when has that ever stopped most of us. I like these Posilock pullers more than most of the others I've tried.
And then
I already have all the smaller ones. This should set me up for about anything I need this specific type of tool for, at least until I move back to IA and am working on some bigger farm and construction stuff.

I had to change my Tocamoas rear bumper as id reversed into something. To make it easier , I unbolted the skin but needed to remove my towball to get the skin off.
There i was , 38mm socket on an extendable breaker bar , on the ground , with my foot against the pipe wrench on top and after heating with wax caryon and some wd40 , crack , it eventually came loose. Despite me think I was being careful, I still sheered an inch worth of thread off the towball.
I then proceeded to undo it slowly as I needed my foot in place on the pipe wrench. On that day I decided I needed an impact. Through the research process Id done , and my slight baism towards Bosch , I decided to go for the GDS18V-740N.
I didn't quite think this through maybe as this thing is heavy and large , so I might need to get another one for situations where this won't fit and my 1/4 Makita wont have enough grunt for.
Shoot me , with the addition of a few other purchases , I've found myself running 2 battery ecosystems now , something I didn't want ,but Makita don't make everything and Bosch don't make everything so it is what it is. I will NOT enter a 3rd.
COO Malaysia , interestingly , my little IXO screw driver is made in Hungary , I don't think I've seen a single Bosch power tool made in China although a fair amount of their bits and blades are.
These are a good $100 or more cheaper than the Makita equivalents ,I don't know why , are these baragins or is the Makita more expensive than it needs to be ?

These are really nice pullers and a pleasure to use. I don't know if it's anywhere on those pullers, or in the paperwork with yours, but there is a maximum torque for each size listed on the drawings? or somewhere on the Posi lock website; I put a label on the cage of each of mine as a reminder. For pullers from other brands, I don't worry about it, I hit it with the impact LOL, but these have a pretty thin lower jaw portion in comparison to most.
