Some new tools from the last couple months:

hammer and Gearwrench metric universals dirt cheap with codes from Advance, gloves from the local Job Lots ($8) and Irwin wire strippers from Lowe's (full price and worth every penny)


a bunch of Sears clearance purchases ($15 for each set of stubby drivers and $4 to $7 for each of the pliers), an XZN set from Sears (cheaply bought with codes and free shipping) and the result of the recent bogo impact deal


and of course the $175 compressor

Nice! What's the model number for the air hammer?

114. Yeah, it is a cheap one but I doubt I'll ever know the difference between it and a 121. Besides, it came with a quick release and three chisels... and I was PAID to get it.

Many years ago, my Cm compressor came with one of those free air tool kits including a very cheap impact, ratchet and hammer. I bought the 114 at Advance with codes for some ridiculously low price and then sold my free Cm (that I had been using for all those years) for a few dollars more. I figured it was worth it even if just for the quick release!

I also purchased a set of screw drivers from HF

I needed a proper set. I cant stand using one of those 103444553123 piece screw driver sets. I sense I will be buying more screw drivers. So far I like these screw drivers. They feel good in my hands and at least look like they will last a while.

I have one of the Premium 3/8 ratchets as well. It is a nice ratchet! I got it from Stuey at The toolguyd. I honestly want a second now so I can have two going on a job.

I also have a couple of them HF drivers I bought to test. So far, I haven't reached for them. Haha. Always reach for my Hazet drivers.

Little late, but here are a couple of new things.

Wright D978 arrived today. I put adhesive-lined heatshrink on the pegs and mounted it to my pegboard (mounting is hidden, the hooks at the bottom are just to keep the bottom snug against the pegboard).

It's next to my D980 set.

Some more VIM stuff arrived today.

TMS34PF:

MT1 magnetic-mount parts tray. It's small, but handy to have under the hood, under a lift, or stuck to the side or a drawer front of your cart. The mounts have some freedom of movement so it'll mount to surfaces that aren't completely flat (like the underside of a car hood). Rubber cups on the magnets are removable for cleaning so it's not difficult to keep dirt/swarf/etc. away from painted surfaces. I will be ordering 1 or 2 more of these. It won't hold anything really big, but it's fine for fasteners, screwdrivers, pliers, standard length ratchets and short extensions, and combination wrenches. Hopefully it'll reduce the likelihood of me leaving a tool in an engine compartment.

Just picked up these screwdrivers on clearance. All tips are magnetized. They have a straight through shank with a metal cap on top, so you can "tap" the screwdrivers once in a while. The end cap is also laser engraved for identification in a tool belt.

I think I'm most interested in the "beverage opener".

Got some more Wera drivers. These are hex-plus 454 T-handles, and the last 2 torx-plus 367 drivers to finish my work collection (T6-T20 is all I need) I may pick up some 367K ball-ends, cause I really like the ball-end torx on the Wera L-key set I have, and maybe a set of 467 T-Handle Torx drivers.

Yes, for the price they're hard to beat. This is actually my second set of them. I haven't broken any from the first set, but needed a set in a second location. Thus far, I've broken fasteners with them but not the bits.

I thought the same thing. The quotes around "NEW" are good for a laugh too. I guess this is what happens when you have more than the tools themselves farmed out to the far east, and don't bother having anyone with English language comprehension check it.
