That isn't bad. I have several Surefire lights. One in the car, one in the basement, etc.

My favorite has to be the old Z2.

Please help me understand why a flashlight is $100?? :shocking:

Some people feel the same way about quality flashlights as some others on here feel about owning Snap on tools, sometimes you wonder why they are so much expensive then perfectly usable (insert tool , flashlight ,car, motorcycle) but sometimes you just enjoy that extra quality feel. I hate cheap flashlights eveb thgough they work perfectly well.

dude, those are ****... how much did that run you? also, have you ever tried using them on the newer european cars with the plastic connector ends integrated into the radiator hoses? those are a ***** to get off and was wondering if something like that would help... just not sure if they can get into the plastic connector ends...

Good point. Some spend the extra on certain items they feel are worth it. In my case I dont wrench for a living so I am fine with craftsman sockets, but I spend the extra for snap-on ratchets. It makes my time wrenching that much more fun.

Finally found a place that actually had these English pattern Estwings in stock - been looking for a while now. Strictly speaking I don't need them, but they're pretty cool. I couldn't decide on the leather or the vinyl grip, so I bought both - one for the garage and one for the shop. Why buy one when you can get 2 at twice the price...

96.66 including ship costs. I do believe they would work for any one of those applications. I just sold my used red set for 154 because I knew I was getting this set no matter the bids. I bid 200 and only needed 96.66 of the bid and free shipping sweetened the deal. I am keeping all these but I do have a spare green new in package 2 piece set. Lemme know if ur interested we can do a trade or sale.

Okay I had $20 in rewards points for sears, got an email that said they were going to double that until the 16th, today. I remembered at 8:10pm and sears is open til 9pm. So, I go online look at the local ad and these were on sale from $89.99 to $44.99 each. So after my rewards with tax I paid $52.53 out the door! I know, I know, chinese ****, right, whatever, lifetime warranted! and I got them for like 73% off! I'm pretty psyched!

I found them here: http://www.all2ools.com/

Their website was probably state of the art in 1996. So I called them and ordered via phone. They were nice to deal with and the hammers arrived uber-quick. Not the cheapest shipping out there ($14 for the two), but what can you do when no one else has them and, let's face it, hammers are sort of heavy.

That reminds me of a scene from the movie "Contact". It occurs shortly after the first machine was destroyed:

S.R. Hadden: Look closer. [zooms satellite feed to reveal second machine] First rule in government spending: why build one when you can have two at twice the price?

I paid about 140 for my original stinger streamlight plus 35 for an led upgrade and I'd do it again on a second. I use it all day on almost every car I work on. Well worth the investment.

At least someone gets it... I used my original stinger for the last 6 years every day and beat the hell out of it and its still going. This price was just to good to pass up plus it was green :D

The detent area isn't properly machined in?
Yes, there is not one detent hole on that 19mm socket, others have 4. i think something went wrong with the tool alignment at that point. The horizontal scratch is all there is and even that is on 1 side only.

Luckily its size quite rarely needed.

yes, tell us more!

I picked up my 1/2 cordless impact from sears $85 out the door after proper discounts

Stopped by HF and got a 37 piece SAE/Metric impact socket set with case. Also has three extensions. I also bought some adapters so I can use the 3/8 sized impact sockets that came in the kit .Plus a 3" c clamp for when I do brakes.

I charged the battery for 30 minutes and it zipped a lug bolt right off my wheel.. Awesome.

The markdown rack at sears also had the 1/4" hex drive cordless impact for $77. I might keep an eye on it.

if that was a craftsman socket it would lead to a 6 page ***** fest about crappy quality control

Well it's not new as of today, but I did have to bring it home to use, so I thought I'd post it up. Oh it was free to boot. It's nice to work with guys past retirement age ;) It's a Snap-On L712T head and L72RL handle. It's got some were and tear on it, but is in pretty good condition overall. I also got some Lisle lock-ring pliers I had ordered.

Yeah if I put up pictures of all the free tools and stuff I've gotten from these guys over the last few years, ya'll would probably show up to my house and linch me. I have been VERY fortunate and spoiled to have friends like these.
