^^
coincedently I stepped onto a Mac truck today for the first time. Guy kept referring to them as "the other guys" and was trying to impress me with some tools. In my mind I was like "okay". Seems like alot of there stuff is either rebranded or manufactured offshore. He hands me a 2011 catalogue and the new flyer. I left.
I am making my personal tools all MAC for sake I do not wrench like I used to, and there is finally a rep within 100 miles. Also warranty's anything I need. They have good tools just like the other trucks. Are they better? Matter of opinion, but they do have some that are, and some that aren't. You could say that about any tool truck brand though. I prefer MAC it is what I had growing up and what I bought at the dealership I worked at. I did buy and use snap on stuff as well, but not as much. My preference, and since it is all filling up a cart, I like it. I still have 2 other boxes full of both MAC and SO stuff.
I might consider their sockets after my recent purchase on some sockets didnt work out. they got a good deal in the Canadian flyer: buy 11pc metric socket set 3/8 for $120 and get a mini ratchet worth $69 for free
Are the mac sockets made in USA?
And don't even get me started with Matco/Crapco
Your recipt said various tools trade in, care to elaborate?

yes they're USA but they have to be the basic 6pt. If they're the MAC edge then they're taiwan.
No 17 makes little sense. With metric having 10-19mm makes for a good set, skipping 17 and 19 makes little sense. 16 is not used as much.

That's what I was thinking.
depends on what you work on. I'm guessing he has Asian vehicles.
Largely fruitless day.
Went to Napa trying to find some deals on the 50% off they were advertising on Napa branded hand tools. Turns out it was only sets, and they only had the set i had already gotten from Cripe for cheaper.
Then went to Sears Outlet trying to find some plier racks. No love. Grabbed a screwdriver organizer.
Anyone know if this thing fits Craftsman pro screwdrivers as well? Messed around with a couple of those while i was there, the 6 packs are on sale for $30, and i was suitably impressed with how nice they felt. Unsure if i want to buy, but i might have to with the reviews they've been getting.

Got a great deal for the Wright 950 wrench set from Amazon. It's not the new Wright Grip, but well, for the price it's a great bargain.
