Got me a set of Mac Tools Stubby Ratcheting Wrenches 8-19mm. A very nice set to have in confined areas where you only have less than 6'' of moving space for a nut.

The box is probably made in China... but the important stuff is inside...

Got tired of worrying about losing my Snap On wrenches on road calls. got these as a cheap replacement. Still carry a lifetime warranty and I get them at cost. not a bad deal for POS wrenches.

Snap On Instinct Screwdrivers
2012-06-19_08-27-08_848.jpg

One of my first purchases on a tool truck was a full set of original orange hard handle screwdrivers 10 years ago. That was a hefty purchase at 19 years old. I still remember the day I bought them. Just got my job and learned that I needed to spend money on tools whether I liked it or not. I hated to see one of them get messed up. I know they would be covered under warranty. But they wouldn't be the same ones that I bought. Silly sentimentalist concept I know.

fowlwishes, good idea on loaning the asian deer. My first screwdrivers were black handled, then an orange handle set in the late 80's I think.

Stopped by Sears today on a whim.

Lots of Greenlee stuff on clearance. Why--I have no clue.

Picked up a set of 0351-08SD Long nose pliers/cutters.
8" long.

Retail $27.99
Clearance $7.99 or around 2/3rd's off.

Hell they are an inch longer than the so-called 8" Craftsmans that they want $16.99 for.

They also had a lot of 9" Greenlee linesman pliers normall $39.99 makrked down to $19.99.
Half off, but not something I need. :)

Snagged this off of CL on the cheap. It's like brand new. We have a couple of them at work but they **** and nobody takes care of them. Everytime I use a shop one it I seems to have an "issue" to get it to work correctly.
Not anymore!

Went to Sears today to pickup a new handle for a ball peen hammer of mine. Came up empty on the handle, but I didn't come home empty handed. Yep, USA made Vice Grips. They had several types all USA made. Must have been in a box in the back somewhere. If anyone is interested, Sears of Solon, OH. ;)

Nice pick up. Solon is a bit too north for a quick trip

Kaervak, I live in Beachwood...that store is only 15 minutes or so away from me. I may have to check it out!

Definitely do. I got the last 10WR & 7WR combo pack that's truly USA made. However there are a couple 10WR singles, 5WR singles & I think a few 7WR singles that are all truly USA made still there. I might be wrong on the models, but there are genuine USA Vice-Grips there. :) Also, check out the clearance section by the tool chests. Good stuff there. :D

I'm in Garfield Heights, Richmond is a bit of a drive for me. Only been there once myself. The Sears at Randall Mall was the closest, but that's been closed for several years now unfortunately. Solon is now my closest one, with Parma being a close second. Haven't been to the Parma one in a while though. Might have to make a trip there tomorrow and see if they have any nice surprises. :)

I work in Valley View...drive through Garfield Heights every day. I got some nice stuff at the Randall Mall store when they closed. That whole place is an EYESORE!

Oh yeah when it closed I spent a ton of money and got some great deals. It is quite a shame how bad that area has gotten. Used to be quite a nice area and now it's practically abandoned.

This morning went shopping for a work bench that didn't come out too successful. Went to Lowes, Homedepot and Sears since they are locally. Didn't find any work bench but stumble upon purchasing a Milwaukee Scope. The Camera head fits exactly my needs of seeing into spark plugs holes, exhaust ports, intake ports, etc..

That's the one. I've spent quite a bit of money there the past couple of weeks. :D

If you guys want a good selection of USA Craftsman, the Sears Hardware on Broadview and Pleasant Valley in Seven Hills. They still have a ton left. Anytime I buy tools from Sears I buy there. It is independantly franchised so it helps out a fellow small business owner. They ahve a great overall selection as well. They actually have all 3 sizes of the 84t ratchet in stock. Also the new generation 60t 3 piece sets are ALL USA MADE. They dont have any Taiwan in stock. They have quite a few.

I'd been looking at these Wilde spreading pliers the last few times I've been in Epsteins. I should have got them a long time ago. I'm surprised how many times I've used them in the brief time I've had them.

http://store.harryepstein.com/cp/MiscPliers/G704P.B.html

Something else I've needed for awhile was something for cleanly cutting aircraft cable. As expected these Knipex do a nice job. They also did a pretty nice job cutting cable housing without crushing it. Also picked up a pair of Knipex Angled Mini Bolt Cutters.
