Got these Mini's from Snap On yesterday. He threw in a Snap On Jerky as well. The short 1/4'' Ratchet worked great on the Jaguar XJS V12. Very super duper CRAMP!

The most Cramped engine bay I've ever worked on. I thought the Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo was bad, Jaguar XJS V12 tops the chart.

I was tired of using nails as drifts and drywall screws as center punches so I saw this Mayhew set in Home Depot and bought it. Other tools are a tack hammer, stanley wire stripper, 1/2 ton shackle, small Craftsman c-clamp and a broken Snap-on 9/16 combination wrench.

Last year I bought this wrench sorting tray from Sears,
00965223000-2

And had it filled with a mix of Craftsman of other wrenches. I hit the local pawn shops trying to complete the Cman lineup for the tray. But can't seem to find a few. While at a Sears today, decided to just buy some wrenches to fill the gaps. Too expensive that way. So, I bought the following.

100_4953.jpg

12 piece 12 point for $40 normal price. Added a 6mm. Still need a 19mm to finish the metric in the tray. Bonus, USA made. Even the 6mm.

100_4955.jpg

9 piece 6 point, on sale, $20... And, also USA made. And now I need a 11/16ths to finish the SAE section.

100_4958.jpg

1/4 and 3/8 flex handles. Didn't really need them, but also, USA made, so, bought them.

Paid for the above stuff, and was walking out when I saw the display for Gear Wrench 20 piece ratcheting wrenches.
100_4960.jpg

$50. I had looked at the 7 piece metric set on sale for $50, marked down from $70. But 20 for $50?:rocker: Went back and bought them.

Even buying the HF ratcheting wrenches is over $50 for metric and SAE... Lack of the 16mm kept me from buying the 7 piece GearWrench set. Even at Lowes, they don't have a 16mm Kobalt ratcheting wrench. At least not on the rack.

Before this madness, I had stopped at Harbor Freight.

Do I really need these? Probably not. This set would be more awesome substituting the larger sizes for a 13, 16 and 18...

Not pictured, is the SAE and Metric Kobalt stubby sets I bought the other day, $15 each. While I didn't buy any tools last month, I certainly killed my tool budget for this month!

Well, I still need to order from Harry Epstein too...:lol_hitti

6s were on sale. More of an impulse buy, really. Not to mention finding USA made, sort of pushed the impulse. I actually gave some thought to buying SAE and metric both in 6 and 12 point. I'm having enough trouble organizing my 44" HF box as it is though. Like, where are those long pattern HF wrenches fitting in the mix?

I didn't think that 6mm looked bad. But the bigger the picture makes it look worse. I will take it back.

Are Cman "panel" wrenches well regarded? I picked up a 26 pc set this evening and it seems very nice - I don't know why anyone would complain about them!

Yes they are good wrenches. IMO they are very stout. The *only* thing I don't like about them is that they are short. That and compared to their fully polished chromed version they can be a bit uncomfortable. But honestly they are kick *** wrenches for the $$ and US made to boot. They will always have a place in my tool box.

I agree that some are short but for what I work on they seem to be about as long as my HF wrenches which I am slowly replacing. The larger size (20, 22mm) are long as heck though, but I don't have much use for those sizes.

I saw a chrome set there too, fully polished, but honestly they looked just like my HF units (which is fine) but when they get wet or oil man are they slippery. I liked the rougher nickel plating or whatever on the raised panel and they just felt... beefier. I hope they work out as they seem to be quality.

I would like a set of the 1996 Ratcheting Screwdriver NASCAR & ratchet. Do you have extra shaft set for rat screwdriver? PM me please. Very nice haul!

Got the 4" adjustables and Channellock 424 from FrankLee.
The ball pein hammer is from a garage sale, the handle I bought was way too big so I have 2 other sizes on order.

Lol man, lots of speculation going on here! Couple reasons why I bought them....one, It was such a good deal I would be stupid to pass it up and 2, I don't work on live circuits but electricity scares the bejeesus out of me. Got shocked badly when I was younger working on a hot water tank because someone flipped on the wrong breaker and ever since then, I'll use non conductive tools if I can. Not foolproof but every little bit helps. I got by on a set of el cheapo Mastercraft ones for a few years and now, I can afford to upgrade. Was actually considering picking up the Wera And nws stuff but since this came along, I grabbed it. Being orange and snap on is just a bonus and keeps my OCD twitching under control  But yes, I have been picking up a few tools lately but I really can't see how that's a bad thing :dunno:
