This arrived today, from ToolTopia. I ordered the Kastar set but got a Lang-branded set instead, but it appears to be the exact same kit, right down to the COO (USA).

I am willing to bet that is the exact same set that Snap-On sells! I hate when Snap-On just rebrands **** with a higher price tag.

BHH I think you are spot on! All the trucks do it. Tap and die sets come to mind, along with some of the other testing tools like the pressure test kits for radiators. I had 4 side by side, and aside from color and badge stickers, all the same stuff stant has! Total shame they have to do that to us all.

Yeah I wish I knew about the Hanson extractor set before I bought the Snap-On one. But I did get it on ebay brand new for much much less than Snappy sells it.

Here Craftsmans warranty info page.I believe those would fall under the tap and die category.

http://www.craftsman.com/shc/s/nb_10155_12602_NB_CSwarranty#point4

3.

- Tap and Die Sets (excludes Craftsman Bolt-Outs)

If this Craftsman hand tool ever fails to provide complete satisfaction, it will be repaired or replaced free of charge. This warranty does not cover the taps and dies, which are expendable parts that can wear out from normal use within the warranty period.

WARRANTY SERVICE
To obtain warranty coverage, return the product to the retailer from which it was purchased for free repair or replacement if repair is unavailable.

Yeah, I don't know of any tool company that warranties tap and die tools. They might against first time use, or manufacturing defects, but to warranty them after multiple uses would just plain be silly.

50 dollars versus 123 dollars and people are bitching about a warranty? if you're so concerned that something might break, buy 2 of the craftsman sets and you'll still save 23 dollars.

Got this set for $500. Awesome deal since it used to list at $1300 and the swivels would cost you $900 alone. I was shorted a 1/2" drive universal and 16mm deep socket and they gave me a different gun than what was supposed to come with the kit. They are sending me the 16mm since my local sears didn't have it and my sears gave me the universal. I was planning on selling the gun since I already had a 1/2" re branded IR gun but since this one is the size of a 3/8" I think I'm just going to keep it.

These are some larger sizes Craftsman does not make but I will get Armstrong to fill their spots.
From what I hear these swivels are the best on the market and you can only get them from Craftsman, Armstrong and Macto.
I already had both SEA and Metric 1/2" deep sockets. I might sell em or I might keep them for a extra set. They are all USA made so I wont be finding replacements at sears anymore.

Been hankering for a 1/4" impact for some time, couldnt justify the price Matco wants for their kit (especially with 1 battery) so picked up the Makita kit WT01W. $116 out the door, rated up to 80lb/ft. Other than being 3/8" and white it seems like a well built tool. Cant wait to try it out.

Yea I would probably keep those extras for the time being. USA at sears is a thing of the past I think. I have snap on swivels and the Matco swivels. They both are awesome sockets and I think they will out last me!

Id like to get a Cordless impact gun too so I will probably just throw the 2nd set in a tool bag with it to take with me when air isn't available.

That sounds like a wise decision, especially on long family outings or over the mountains and through the woods to granny's house :lol_hitti

Never know when and where car trouble or flat tires happen. :D

How do you like them, how do they compare to the regular ones with the multi sizes?

Hi

They are well made, about £14.82 free P&P

I like the way you can use a torque wrench:thumbup:

I am a bit ham-fisted at times & the bike spindle has a low torque for its size.
