Here's the follow-up to my earlier post. Newly arrived set of SK short pattern offset double box wrenches. This set is the 6-point variety. I couldn't decide which set would be more useful, 6 point or 12 point, so I bought both.:D

Sears Craftsman cable-operated hose clamp pliers, necessary for hose clamps on newer vehicles (e.g. Mini Cooper S). Made in France (!?!) Exactly the same (except for the over-molded grips) as those sold by Snap On (#SHCP1) for $107.60. $35.99 online.

You can count the things in Sears made in France on one hand.

those are made by Caillau and are pretty much sold re-branded by every serious automotive tool brand the world over.

lucky you, the Craftsman version is one of the cheapest around(even cheaper than in France!). :D

I was looking to upgrade my crowfoot socket wrenches to a more modern style with better holding power. I checked out many brands and chose the OEM brand with flexible flare nut design. I bought the SAE and metric sets but these metric ones arrived first. They seem very well made.

I just got the same hose clamp pliers from Sears. Made in France, and identical to Snap On.

Actually guys the Snap On hose clamp tool has a ratcheting design instead of a single position lock. I use my pair a lot at work and it can be very handy.

There was 1 left at the store last week. It rang up $99 at the register and they wouldn't budge on price. They wanted it more that me apparently. I did end up with ~20 packs of those stainless zip ties for 61¢ a piece though.

Nice deal you got there on the meter.

I stand corrected.

Does the ratcheting feature justify paying three times more? Do the SO dealers discount them at all?

Thanks.

Dregs of the Lowes Knipex clearence from the last week.

Cable Shear for jeffmoss26 and needle nose for myself.
$12.83 ea.

My Lowe's gets in the oprhan Knipex in singles or lots and has no idea what to do with them.

Still has a dozen of the needle nose Knipex with no tags, no SKU and no price on the rack.

Just a Sharpie # written on the package to ID it as a Lowes product.

Blissfully confusing to those that work there. Free entertainment for me, + a discount :)

For me, yes because a lot of the time those clamps can be a pain. I've used the craftsman style before and sometimes you end up having to hold it halfway because you need to maneuver a clamp a certain way. I paid full price because I needed it and didn't have time to wait for a sale.

For DIY the craftsman would be just fine though. It looks like the snap on tool may be made by the same company though because its also made in France.

Got some more Wiha stuff. More on the way from a couple other places.

In this picture though there is the stubby phillips and slotted screwdrivers, stubby hex metric, hex SAE, and torx bit holders with the cap storage, VDE Bitflip driver, and a set of Torx Plus drivers. I'll be honest, I don't run into Torx Plus every day, but that damn Blue color sucked me in.

I wish the stubby bit holders were labeled but oh well.

Got some Assenmacher TDI tools too. Replacing a Cam, lifters and timing belt on a PD TDI right now.

a couple flat rate boxes showed up from Warmpancakes today. A culmination of purchases anywhere from a couple weeks ago to quite a few months ago. A few items didn't make it out to the shop for the photos but here's most of it....

Lol they don't look any thicker than my snap on hi performance wrenches. They also don't look longer. Just saying since you seemed to be implying.

The words snap on were not in my post nor was I comparing them to snap on. I was merely posting my latest tool arrival mentioning that they have nice thick beams and are loong. So take a chill pill, relax, and rest assured that I wasn't making fun of your snap on wrenches. It might be time to get your meds updated. After all, this isn't the new snap on thread  :wtf:
