All of that stuff came out of the same box at the secondhand store. I started thinking about it and it seemed odd that someone would have 1/2" drives and 1/4" drives in their box but no 3/8" drives. So... I went back this morning and went through that box again and found the missing 3/8 drive ratchet. A Proto #5249 3/8" drive 7" ratchet. I also grabbed a 3/8 dr 6" Craftsman extension and a 1/4 x 5/16 open end. It cost me $5.00 and now the set is reunited. I am truly amazed at how cheaply you can get good quality US made tools in some of these places.

gearwrench 51pc sae and metric 1/4 drive set

$44 in total from advanced thanks to there coupons.

also picked up a bottle of permatex engine assy' lube which has made the ratchet alot quiter and smoother.

went with this over the napa set from cripe as the extra few bucks for a better ratchet and easier to warranty seemed a no brainer.

just the 84t, personally I only really use quick release ratchets so I doubt the ratchet will be used much so figured no point in going for a 120xp kit because even then it wont make any difference. but $44 im happy, cheaper than $70-150 they are everywhere else.

craftsman modules were reduced 3 days after ordering so i did kick myself but there is no usa made sets in my local stores anyway so wasn't so bad

I got ya. I was only asking because I was looking at the gearwrench stuff at my local advance today and didn't see any of the 120xp ratchets so I was kinda wondering if they even carry those. I want a 120xp flex head 1/2" as a back up to my SO sr80a but I only if I seen it at a store and it was an impulse buy type thing.

I wouldnt even spend 200 for a ratchet that is giant. I wish I had your kinda money to even consider the buy. Maybe 100 bucks. Dont get me wrong I would love to have it. My driver has a glomad LS1 engine display I asked him about the other day and he said its not for sale its his lol

How are you liking that Earthquake ratchet? I've been debating on getting one since I've never really warmed up to the cheap air ratchet that I have now. I never liked the kick back (if that's what it's called) and have read on HF's website that the Earthquake doesn't do that.

How are you liking that Earthquake ratchet? I've been debating on getting one since I've never really warmed up to the cheap air ratchet that I have now. I never liked the kick back (if that's what it's called) and have read on HF's website that the Earthquake doesn't do that.

I have only used it a couple times, but I really like it so far. It's the only air ratchet I've ever used so I can't really compare it to anything else however.

SK plier set that was under the Hot Deals section last week (http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=223186)

I guess one of the vendors had a lot of overstock since it was $36 shipped vs the ~$70 everyone else seems to want. They have an "AA" on them which is either a date code or a mark to mean the "new" Ideal owned SK. (Basing this off a few SK ratchets I bought that came in a box with the address off the new Ideal owned SK headquarters on it.) From some posts in the thread I linked to these are made by Ideal-owned Western Forge for SK and are pretty much identical to similar pliers from Craftsman just with green handles.

Pliers are all a bit bigger than I had in my head but that's probably a good thing.

After feeling them they all feel a bit loose compared to my Channellocks. The needle nose are the firmest of the 3 and feel pretty good, but I still think my Channellocks feel better. That said they were a great deal and these will be put in my track day tool box where they won't see a ton of use and they will be lightyears ahead of the cheap Chinese **** I have in there currently.

Picked these up from Ollies on the way home today. Never heard of "Richard" tools, but I needed some pry bars and the price was right at 20 bucks total for the single and 3 piece set together. Despite the low price tag, they're made in Canada and look surprisingly decent. They even have striking caps on the handles.

Nice purchase, yes they are made in Canada, the compagnie mostly make scraper and painting tools. I can't even find these pry bar around here. You're lucky.
