Don't drill the rivets out of the box end ratchet wrench.
I had 3 snap ons like that style that was rusted in place. I soaked it in PB blaster for an hour and then placed a bolt in the vise that the wrench fit on and broken the wheel loose of the rust bond it had. Then I started to work the little lever that holds the wheel in place back and forth with a pick until it started to work on it's own. As long as the little pin that pushes the lever isn't completely stuck and can be worked free by soaking it with some kind of penerating oil and tapping the wrench against the bench to jar it loose, it will eventually start to work and just have to keep spraying it with oil and turning it til it start to run clean. Once I got to that point i sprayed it white lithium grease and wiped it down with a clean rag and put them in my toolbox!![]()
It works perfect now after using a lot of penetrating oil last night. It went from stuck to binding to smooth and nice. Thanks for the lithium grease tip. I will work some in the cracks since it moving free now. I know penetrating oil is not good for long term so I was wondering what I should work in it.
