Those Coast G20 pen lights are one of the best out there. Have one in the glove box of all my vehicles.

I would say they are comparable at least for the G20 model. The G20 has a small bright spot light effect when used in small room area spaces.

Yes I have bought them, and no, I will NEVER buy them again.

I have used the AA, AAA and 9v's.

I used one of the 9v's in one of my smoke detectors and it didn't make it 6 months before the low battery chirp began.


I;ve used the AA's in my mini maglites with the same short lfe as the 9v's.

The AAA's are worse in that that I tossed them in my freebie HF LED flashlites but they seem or leak acid over time just like those that come with the flashlight. And if you store them in say a cold car in a flashlight during winter time, the life is even shorter. Ugh.


I only buy Duracell or name brand batteries anymore unless I pop out to Costco where the Kirkland house batteries are very very dependable.

Live and learn I guess.

Meter hanging kit, electronic screwdriver. I needed to replace my broken Chapman ratchet, wanted a ratcheting screwdriver, plus it plays nicely with new electric driver; the Skewdriver kills a lot of birds, ratcheting combination wrenches to replace the two sizes I wore out, and a pry-bar so I can stop misusing my big slotted driver.

Well I picked up this pair QD3R250 and QD2R1000 for right about $200 and a box of donuts and some coffee later they have both tested and certified.


I also picked up a set of the new wera chisel drivers



Along with the steel top they also have a 1/4 inch broach in the top for even more added convenience

No the preon will walk circles around it with 5-6 times the output but at 3-4 times the price too. Hurts a lot less to loose the coast.

I like the streamlight, but the output isn't very good when compared to the preon. I hate the preon tail though so I buy a preon and a streamlight, give the streamlight to a friend and use the extra rubber with the streamlight for the preon.

I know its just a rebrand Vaughan but it looks so good in black, over hear Vaughan hammers are just beginning to become available outside the few tool shops that have had them for years. Still have never seen a strait claw hammer on a shelf here though, you can get them but you have to order one, I use one but know no other carpenters that do.

After a recent struggle with using a ¾” drive breaker bar and a 4' cheater to remove the blades from one of my brush hogs, (worrisome to see a 3/4" drive Proto breaker bar flex so much) I decided to splurge and buy a 1” drive breaker bar and socket to use in the future.

Found a new 1” drive Wright 8435 breaker bar and a 1-11/16” KAL socket on eBay. Both are very nice tools and should be fun to use next time I need to sharpen blades on one of the brush hogs.

This new breaker bar and socket, plus another odd 1” drive socket that I picked up somewhere years ago, constitute the full extent of my 1” drive capability.

Got the rest though. Chain clamp I though was epoxy but I guess not. Also got some NWS ergocombi because I always wanted a pair. Knipex super knips were on sale. Knipex cable dismantling knife, cobra extra slims since I lost my other pair and a pair of 180mm cobras with comfort grips since I lost my regular ones.

In the background is my 58" Mayhew that showed up from another vendor.

yes it does. I have borrowed this from my coworker to drill out rivets. For its size it has some power. That will be one of my future purchases.
