They are all US, even the Christmas sets this year. Kmart has ones that aren't but I have been to a dozen different Sears stores and have not seen a single pry bar like that that is not made by Wilde in the US. Anecdotal stories of the existence of them can be chalked up to Kmart buys returned to Sears.

I have that same monster light also. It's the best I have bought like that in a long time. End up getting 2 of them then. Hold up very well.

Excellent boots, Monte- wearing mine right now. Be careful on snow and ice though, traction is iffy.

Redwings are better than chippewa and thorogood.

I haven't worn Chippewa, but the Thorogoods have held up well - worth the $100 they cost on sale after my Georgia Boot soles cracked down the middle and they wouldn't replace them.

One year in, and although I don't put boots through the hell i used to, they have only gotten more comfortable.

White's are great and local (Spokane), but very spendy and out of my range. If I were working in a situation where the boots would be put through the ringer, i wouldn't hesitate to buy a pair of White's as I've seen what they can hold up to.

.

Do you happen to remember when Georgia boots had their contract with one of the major railroad companies(this would be 25+ yrs ago) . Those boots were the best I've ever worn. When I found out they lost the contract and were going to stop making them I ordered every set I could find around the nation. About 6-7 years ago after killing my last set I bought some redwings which weren't very good and since then have tried just about every brand out there and none of them have ever came close to the comfort and quality of the Georgia ones. The last set of Georgia's I bought sucked. I guess I might try out a couple of the other brands mentioned.

Anyhow sorry for the highjack, back to the regular scheduled program. :D

You're old. That was a contract for the Norfolk-Southern shortly after the merger of the Norfolk & Western and the Southern. ???? 1976 maybe ?
Georgia Boy and Redwing are junk today.

i think Thorogoods prices are good and i also like their design and that they´re 100% USA and union made....
