Do you get better deals on the truck if you pay cash? Or does it depend on the mood of the driver?

Cash usually gets me discounts not just with my old Snap-on guy but with most small business owners. Had breakfast last weekend in a diner I've never been to. I handed my Amex card to pay for the bill; was told they took Visa/MC but not Amex. I asked if cash was ok; got one dollar taken off the bill. When I was doing a deal on a bicycle I bought(Titanium Brompton), I asked the store if instead of paying with my Amex and the store getting charged 5% - if I can pay with cash instead and I get 5% off instead. Store agreed.

But back to your question; yes - my Snap-on dealer gave me 10% off the list price and "factored in" the 7% sales tax into the price. So I was actually getting 17% off. But not all dealers might be so generous. I did some business with that guy and always paid in full; never asked for credit. Brand new KRA4107, socket sets, combination wrench sets, screwdriver sets, etc.

I think I saw these on here a few days ago so I had to have them. They would have gotten more use when I was in maintenance but I still had to have them.

For $20 they are well worth it. Nothing more annoying than standing on a ladder reaching over to unscrew one of them screws and dropping a flat head driver.

Are you aware that Williams has a USA line and a Taiwan line? many people are still under the influence Williams only makes Taiwan tool's.

I was hoping that these Williams would be USA. I was aware they had a USA line more so than I was about their Taiwan line! I didn't really do as much research on the sockets as any other tool I chose. I'd feel differently if everything I read lead me to believe they were USA. How can I tell the difference going forward? Is it something 'hidden' in their part numbers?

nice collection there brother thinking about getting the same makita set

Appreciate the reply. I am looking forward to using it. Even if it doesn't do as well as a Milwaukee 12v set, I'll be happy with the purchase. I don't have those kind of expectations but am confident it will stand up fine to the amount of use I'll put the kit through. It was a great deal.

Yes. Williams part numbers with all "numbers" are made over seas. Part numbers with "letters and numbers" are made in USA. I am not 100% sure this is fact with all their tools but I found it to be true while shopping for sockets. YMMV

Can you post a picture of the side of them? I'd like to see the side profile of them. Thanks!!
I like my snap on dykes but wish they had an angled head like my old kleins I had

Who knows?
Did either of you guys try asking them for actual shipping cost? It says it right on the front page of their site to add to cart and call (or hit the "Request Total" button on eBay). They're really good about finding the cheapest flat rate box/envelope they can fit everything into.

I just got a response this morning that my $16 estimated shipping was dropped down to $7, which is significant for a $30 order.

I sure didn't. I'll have to do that, thanks!

Got this set of SO flare nut crowfoot wrenches today. I was a little disappointed that they are laser etched instead of stapmed.... is this common with Snap On?

WTF is USA tool industry coming to besides corporate greed and profits. I would not buy that **** from Snap-On. Who comes up with these ideas I don't have an engineering degree but don't Snap-On Innovators know that in time the laser etching will wipe off from grease oil and ATF as they all have acid and detergents in them. How is one supposed to warranty them when its markings are wiped off.

same way they warranty their pliers when you cant read the name, snap on plieres, screwdrivers and crowsfeet are very distinct and a good driver can tell the differences

I agree with you warm pancakes but also there should be no questioning whether I it's snap on or not ..maybe if you have a new snappy dealer that hasn't been around the tools for awhile. He should be able to look and see it says snap on.

It also brings me to a sense of pride/proof of worth when I see someone using a snap on wrench that obviously looks like it's from the 60s
You say wow that's some good ****!! If there is laser etching and it wears off they are almost killing their long term advertisement

That's a sweet Helios micrometer my friend, would look perfect next to my Mauser 1-2 mic

Thanks, I'm sure it would lol. I bought it more for a display piece cause I thought it looked cool and only cost a little over $20.

Do you know anything about it? I've been trying to find any info about it that I can online but I haven't come up with anything. I'm just curious what year it might have been made in. It looks old, but I have no idea how old. I'm thinking it could be older than me though, I was born in '85.

A neighbor who I do bike work for just dropped these off as a thank you.
1-1/8" and 1-1/2" Snap-On 1/2" drive impacts. Seriously triggered the OCD because all my other impacts are Craftsman.

Good to know. I was afraid I'd be tarred and feathered for saying it. Sockets look nice though.....

It's not my favorite ratchet in terms of design or function, and my first sk tool was a ratchet like that. I first thought this thing is hideous but they have grown on me.

With that being said I plan on replacing all my ratchets with snap ons.

I was surprised by how much I liked the plain jane sk ratchet. They don't look like anything special, that's for sure.
