Man, that's a pretty penny. set of 15?

It is but from the demo unit the Sk Tool guy had on his truck, these wrenches are great. I love that they're 6 point and the open end has a "flank drive plus/anti slip grip and the ratcheting mechanism hardly need to move at all to engage the next tooth. If you haven't already watch this

Two of the Tekton USA pliers and a Proto impact screwdriver set.

Just for a random bit of info, on the plier packaging is the following:

Ahh so u went to carlisle by any chance??? If so I was there and I pissed off a couple vendors. A lot of those tool guys were selling snap on tools that were half beat for 75% of list price. Tried to haggle with a couple of them and they weren't having it.

I don't even bother with those clownes. Their prices are out of line. Ive bought used stuff off the tool guys for less and made payments. At englishtown last weekend there was a guy there selling strictly broken tools all snap-on. Ridicules :lol_hitti dude was asking premium prices for broken $hit. His claim was its all lifetime warrentee man. Idiot i walked away from him.

That's nice to hear. I remember all of the older MIT stuff to be absolute garbage, flea market **** that wasn't even worth the dollar price tag on it. Guess they are trying to improve their product line/image/quality.

Regarding the Proto, where did you pick that up?

The quality definitely seems to be there with the pliers.

As for the Proto, I got this one from Amazon. I think Zoro had it for the same price, or close. After reading reviews on this one (and the Mac one, which looks to be the exact same) I figured it was a much better value vs SO due to the huge price difference.

Treated myself to some new hammers, high crown cross peen and a new dinging hammer. body hammers are usually one of the few things i buy used, not so much for saving money since the vintage ones on ebay usually go for close to new, i just like old hammers. nice not to have to refinish the faces before using these though!

Yeah...I recently needed a heavy duty ratchet in 1/2" /large adjustable wrench and found myself lacking both and forced to make due.......solved it right quick...I think the ratchet was $36.00 shipped and the 12" proto adj. I found NOS for about the same.

There's something so **** about body hammers

Merb

i completely agree! old, vintage auto body tools have become my go to fetish when i "need" to buy something on ebay or go to a swap meet. those hammers are some of the very few new hammers and dollies that i've bought.

Speaking of HF, I picked these up today. Saw them on this thread a month ago. Wish I would have gotten them earlier, I could have used them three times already.

Yes and $39.95 delivered, so stop eyeballing and start buying. I just ordered two more sets today. They came from Kotulas.com but Northern Tool Shipped them?

+1 absolute ****. Don't even waste your time opening them. I even tried putting a bolt through them instead of the spring/stud they give you and it was still ****.

Hope everyone is listing these HF experiences on the HF PASS/Fail Thread. I often check this thread out before making any HF purchase, especially the more expensive ones. But even the $5 decisions are worth verifying.

Damn! That was a steal man! I've got a FHLF80 that's one of my favorites.

I can see why! This one is my new fav.
Now I just need the extra long fixed head, the stubby, the roto head, the 3/8 in the 1/4 body, all the hard handle ones, all the soft handle ones, and all the 1/4 and 1/2 matching ones...
Goals man...goals

extremely useful and a major time saver over just prying on those pins with screwdrivers

not really a tool as much as a tool accessory... had some surprise points plus some retroactive price matching on the impact i bought last week which made this just under $50 before tax

I think that was probably me. I ran a bolt thru mine and welded the nut on the other side. It took away that slop that it has. I also ground down the jaws a little to make them meet perfectly. By the way the factory rivet comes off like nothing. I basically sneezed on it and it came out

Great advice. Sometimes cheap tools just need a little help to become useful. I have done your technique with several tools. Glad I am not the only one.
