Well I don't have any of my own sae sockets and I don't really use sae, so I went to Harbor a Freight and bought a few sets; 1/4 and 3/8 both shallow and deep. I'm still disappointed that the shallow 3/8 set is 12 point instead of 6 point.

Did you buy these new and recently ? Is it me or do they look rusty ?

Yeah they look pretty rusty for being new but I have seen those same picks with rust spots all over them and still in the package. I don't know what the deal is with those particular pick shafts

Its been a good week. Got a package yesterday from Snap On. New die grinder, wire strippers, carbon scraper set, mini pick set, hand saw, and a couple filler wrenches.

Then the Cornwell guy found me at work and gave me my long awaited 60/30 degree hydraulic wrenches!

And come home today to find my order from Amazon (courtesy of Hot Deals), some Urrea brass punches, and a oddball socket I needed. Very good quality I might add, especially for Mexican tools!

It's nothing special but I only had tamper resistant Torx screwdrivers, and the chiseldrivers were a $1 more than the 300 series. Plus, these are my first Wera's and I wanted to see how comfortable they are.

Let us know how you like the 900 Series Weras, I have been looking at them but have not pulled the trigger yet.

Yes, I bought them about 3 weeks ago, and yes they're rusted already. They're just bare metal, unfortunately. They're not the Snap On quality I'm used to.

That does **** man. I guess a quick swipe with a scotchbrite to clean and then wipe with a light oil will have to do.

Got this stuff off the truck yesterday.
Shallow and deep blue point 1/4 drive 5/8" sockets. Snap on 14mm semi deep swivel impact, push/pull spring tool thingy,
Got a 5mm snap on Allen socket to replace a boogered up craftsman one I have.
Also got a new pair of snap on's latest gloves. These are great and they allow you to use your smart phone without taking them off

Lad i work with has the box the screwdrivers and has had the knee pad on order for 3 weeks and snappy just dont turn up with it ;-(

Epic. I haven't had a chance to use it on anything serious yet, but I'll be replacing my lower control arms soon and will get a good chance to use it then. So far, I've only tested it with taking off lug nuts. On the lowest power setting and a quick press of the trigger it broke the lug free and completely spun it off the stud on lugs that were torqued to 100ft/lbs. I'm using Milton V series high flow couplers and 3/8" hose. I only have my Craftsman C3 Li-ion impact to compare it to and the Proto is way more powerful even on the lowest setting. If you have the cash to spare and are looking for an impact, go for the Proto.

Paint gets chipped off from the moment you start using the hammer, so I wouldn't worry about the paint finish. I have 4 of those ultra hammers now and a fair few other Estwings.

Thats because you are correct sir they are not 60/30's. They are 60/15's just like everyone else's obstruction wrench's. Snap-on is the only ones that are 60/30's.

I thought I read that somewhere. It is nice, because you end up with better positioning for sure. I see sets of them on ebay and always drool, but I don't do enough hydraulic work to make me hit buy it now.

Went to Kitts for two hole saws (1-1/16" & 2-3/4") and found some NOS goodies digging thru their bins and barrels. Truecraft three piece screwdriver set, Channellock 3/16" nut driver and 1/8" slotted driver. Anyone have any idea how old the Channellock drivers with hexagonal shafts are?

Also included my recently acquired Xcelite 5/16 nut driver. Love how clear those amber handles are when new.
