Price was stout. I think it was ~$340.00, Eastwood had a small sale that was less than Amazon.

Was considering a Mastercool set, but read varied reviews and decided on this one.

I have a couple imperial benders I bought from aircraft spruce in corona ca, they seem like o have fairly decent pricing on their tools.

Those are the baby Snap On guns. I don't know what your looking to do with them but they are made for light duty stuff. Interior, electrical, around the house type work.

I bought this 6" Delta variable speed bench grinder yesterday for $71 at Lowes with my 10% discount which is the cheapest I've seen. I also bought a wire wheel, friable sharpening wheel and a buffing wheel. I dont have it set up in its permanent home yet (putting it on the HF grinder stand) and so far all I have done is ring test the wheels and run it a bit. Its very smooth and quiet; the only issue is the two blue plastic handled wing nuts for the eye shields were missing so I'll have to go back to Lowes Monday and get some.

I bought this HF body and fender kit a week or so ago for something like $19 and have already used it on my 91 D-150 paint prep and I have to tell you its as good as some of my other hammers and dollys. Whether you like HF or not its hard to argue with the price and they certainly work just fine.

just how fragile are those comfort grips? nearly every used one i've seen has looked like it's been used as a chew toy

To be honest I'm not the best person to ask, I avoid them usually and the two I have got (that includes this one) came to me already chewed up and I end up cutting them off and replacing them, I have a 1/4 drive soft grip that I cut the soft grip off and replaced with a wera screwdriver handle so I'll probably do something similar with this one:)

uh, did i say anywhere in my post i planned to use them to drive 10 inch lag screws or anything? i know what they are for, and i had the previous version of both at one time, and the impact always let me down, it wouldn't undo 8 mm bolts torqued to 30 ft/lb's, but, in the month i've had the new set, they both seem to be doing better than their predecessor

I think he plans on removing lug nuts from Mack trucks with those.

nah, not Macks, just 1 ton Dodges :lol_hitti

I fawking love my little snap on screw driver... it's the little lithium powered with the clutch. Works awesome for top end and interior work. I've though about trying those impacts out anf bringing my milwaukee stuff home but the price is alot to swallow.

i got the 3/8 ratchet too...seems to me on both it and the screw gun they intentionally turn down the power...like things they both should remove easily they can't...i always get a running start with the ratchet, seems to confuse the torque management system or something haha

Turned down the power? The 14.4 3/8 has tons of power considering its size, more than double that of the 7.2 which is nearly identical in dimensions. I actually believe it to be under engineered if anything. I've already grenaded the internals of of the hammer housing in just 4 months. Its since been repaired but I expect it to happen again as well.

I have the latest matco set and do the same thing. Running start or it isn't coming out lol .

I use my 1/4 impact more than anything. I f'ing love that thing. I brought the matco because they were physically smaller than the 14.4

But I have the "monster lithium" 1/2 snap on and the last 14.4 3/8

no, not the impact, like i said, the impact seems to be doing better than the lithium 7.2 i left on a trans crossmember last year(and honestly didn't miss it much)

i was referring to the 3/8 ratchet...that seems to be under powered to me

They work great, I just always wonder what people expect out of these tools. I see a lot of folks comment about tools not doing something as if it was broken or not a good product, when in reality it was prob designed to be smarter than the guys using it. Meaning, somethings are designed w a slipper clutch so you don't over tighten things. Yes this means it won't break a stuck bolt loose, but you can't always design a tool to serve every scenario perfectly.

Update on my Delta grinder purchase. its going back to Lowes. I ran it for about 10 minutes at low speed and the case got so hot you couldnt touch it and the bearings started squealing. Its too bad because I actually liked the features and heft of the thing.

I've found my 1/4 14.4 ratchet needed quite a few pumps of grease. Now it works awesome. Wish it had the trigger of the impacts, instead of the direction knob on the head...

Picked up a couple of small C Clamps (one Craftsman to match another I have ~ now a set of two; another a new size of Cincinnati Tool) and "used once" 17/32-19/32 Cleveland brand adjustable reamer. $1 / $4 / $1.. not too bad a score for the flea market..

Got all 4 sets for 120.00 delivered. 3/8 and 1/4 SAE and metric gear wrench

I'm debating on the 1/4" metric set. A while back I spent like $350 on a set of Matco 1/4" swivel sockets. Way too expensive for how little I used them.

Mpower5266 good idea. I plan to do the same.

Can you speak on the tolerances of these wrenches? Are they close enough to get the job done?

They seem ok enough for a $5 set of wrenches. They wouldnt be the first set of wrenches I would grab if I were working on the car in the shop but if I were stuck on the side of the road I imagine they will look like solid gold snapon's. :lol_hitti

I cant get the resizing to work, no matter how small I resize the image on photobucket it shows up the same.

Sunex master 1/2 inch drive metric and standard impact socket sets from the rebate thread
Craftsman 36 inch pry bar from the sale/$5 free points (ended up paying $9 total after some other points)
Astro pneumatic caliper wind back set
Lisle universal oil filter wrenches in both the small and the larger size
Digital thermometer that was another item to put me into free shipping territory
Craftsman digiclick 3/8 torque wrench from the sale a few weeks ago for $45 or so
Tekton full polished inch wrench set (amazon warehouse deal for $30)
And a Hansen global torx/hex tray that I needed to push me into the free shipping on amazon from the tekton set.

Gearwrench 7 pc flex head ratcheting wrenches from the aap sale. I also ordered a vim master torx set so I needed the rags to get me over the $100 mark for the 40off100 coupon.

On the way I have the matching tekton set but in metric, the Chicago pneumatic mini random orbital sander from the deal last night, the Ingersoll rand 2135qtimax from that deal last week, a VIM master hex set, a VIM master torx set, and a VIM 8pc Spline/triple square set. will post up pics as they get delivered.

mynameisjason,
I got them from Nathen Arnold Tools. 120.00 shipped for all sets. It was something like 59.99 for the 2 1/4 sets and 59.99 for the 2 3/8 sets.

New HF 44" toolbox. Just need to transfer over the tools that are scattered about in 3 or 4 different small boxes, drawers, etc. And I may work on cleaning them up in the process.

$10 this morning on a craigslist deal. I guess he thought that the off color drawer killed the value?? I'll take it! I have one just like it that I snagged for free a few years back to compliment it.

Bourbon induced ebay buy, Martin 'Wing Ding' spoon dolly (pn 1056) for hard to reach areas. longer than I was expecting, with a pretty thin head, probably wont be used too much, but I have a few areas that it should earn its keep shortly
