For the past year or so I have owned a pair of snap on dykes and honestly never cared for them. They worked real well but I just never cared for the way they felt in my hand. So I just recently sold them on here and tonight I bought a pair of channellock 436 6" side cutters.
I have no problem getting rid "top notch" snap on if I don't like it.

I'll admit there was a time where I would argue a high dollar tool like snap on over someone's lesser brand but now if I get something and I don't like the way it feels.....I get rid of it

But yeah these 436 dykes just feel perfect in my hand

I owned a pair of kleins when I was a teenager that ended up looking like that cuz I cut all kinds of dumb **** with them. I actually still own them. I keep them in a bag in my car trunk. I'll post a pic tomorrow

No they don't, other brands hold up fine being used to pull cotter pins and you know, cut wire... Channellock side cutters and especially the 436 just don't last, I don't know why. I do know they have a big following on here but gawd they're ****...

To help clear up the rust confusion here is a really high resolution studio picture of the Gray Tools hex keys:

https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0203/6660/products/698115.png?v=1436381869

So is it just funny lighting or something that makes it look like there's rust in the first pictures you posted? Or is there a bit of surface rust on them?

There are lots tools that will rust if they sit for a while in a humid environment. Doesn't really mean there's anything wrong with them.

I honestly just think it's the coating or type of steel. I didn't think they look rusted. I have some Lisle two piece torx that have that same coloration, and have since new.

Received my Green Trusty Cooks! I made a mini mechanics pack with some of their smaller sizes.

Those are handy. A warning though, we use sets of those at school for relay troubleshooting, and one of the sets from Lisle came with the blue one incorrectly labeled. It was just the one in the one set, but I'd probably check all of them just to be safe.

Good to know, thanks. They looked awfully useful for wiring/relay problems

Found this thing in the middle of the street. It works. I know it isn't the best brand out there, but it actually doesn't feel too bad for a cheap coarse tooth. Need to open it up and oil it. It also has a decently low profile pear head. I think I found my new junkyard box 3/8" ratchet. Lol.

I'm trying a new strategy. For every quantity dollar i spend in China, I spend a qualilty dollar in Europe or US. The current Chinese to German hammer exchange rate is exactly 6 to 1.

Looks ancient with the metal selector.

I ordered this IR thermometer from Amazon the other day. It was the deal if the day. $9.99 shipped. I also grabbed these Stahlwille snap ring pliers from the warehouse thread. I had no idea how large they were when I ordered them.
