So you're "very disappointed" based off the manufacturer at some point changing the type of printing / labeling of their drivers and you having received a mixed set of the two varying types of printing on them?? Furthermore, you're "very disappointed" that the orientation of the handles causes the sizes to sit in different directions??

You're "very disappointed" in nothing but aesthetics and you haven't even used the tools yet? And to top that off..you're going to contact Zoro all over some aesthetics discrepancies?

:dunno::dunno:

Don't be surprised. I believe Viggen337 is the guy who introduced himself a few pages back by admitting that he bought tools from Lowes, used them, then returned them to Home Depot so he could upgrade.

Wow...you're absolutely right. Just went back several pages and found the post where he's essentially bragging about it.

I would be very disappointed too. I can see them doing a running change by set so the image on a website might show small text and the ones that arrive are large text but everything sold as a set should match. I'm sure Zoro or Wiha will do something to make it right though.

On a side note I actually have a set Wiha of nut drivers coming from KC Tools some time in the next week or two and I hope it's at least one or the other of these two styles!

Odd thing is they show a hard handle ratchet yet it came with a comfort grip. Or did your driver switch it out for you which would explain the color difference

Mac and Matco have similar t-handles. I could be wrong but i think the oem is VIM with a few minor differences. It is very smooth and a solid piece. I liked it so much I bought the 1/4" dr, 3/8" dr and the 1/2" dr versions.

Definately impressed me. See the rest of the comments above.
What is the coo? Look damn near the same as the Mach one spinners.

What do you think so far?

I like it! They didnt seem to have a 5/8" But 16mm is close enough. Its snug and hold on to the spark plug extremely well. There are only two issues I can see with this socket. 1.) Its taller than my Cornwell. Not a totally bad thing, but 90% of what I work on is Subaru. so clearance could be an issue. But for must other jobs, itll work. 2.) It holds on to the plugs so well, I fell like you almost need a locking extension in case you pull on the socket before the plug is unthreaded all the way, the socket will probably slip out of a ball detent extension

Oh it had the green hard handle ratchet. But it didn't fit my hand very well. So I got that one instead.

I don't have a problem with manufacturers changing styles at all, that isn't what I meant! I'm disappointed in the set, but the individual pieces I'm sure I will be very happy with as far as performance.

As firworks said, everything sold as a set should match. It would be different if I had bought a smaller set and added a few drivers later, but that isn't the case.

As for the orientation of the sizes on the ends of the handles, I would have expected QC to catch that, but with this being a new handle design I can see how it may slip through unnoticed. I don't manufacture tools for a living, but details like that are one of many things that separate quality tools from the rest of the bunch. My mom agrees, and she worked in QC for B&D / DeWalt in two different factories before retiring (prior to Stanley merger). Now, if these were Stanley drivers from Walmart I probably wouldn't be surprised, but I probably wouldn't buy them, either. It's just my opinion, take it for what it's worth.

I'm sure Wiha or Zoro will take care of it for me, and if not, these drivers will still serve me well. Just because the appearance every time I open the drawer may bother me, it certainly doesn't make it an inferior tool by any means.

@Firworks - I'm curious to see what your set looks like, be sure to post pics here when you get them.

Got this for $10 at a garage sale, lists online for $175… not sure what i will use it for, but for $10 I can find something...

Besides glass they also work on steel doors, plastic and metal bathroom partitions, and I recently used them to set some panels for a freezer room at work. Any smooth surface.

A word of advice, put a soft rag under the rubber or flip it over in the case. The rubber edge should not come into contact with anything it is not going to be picking up. The rubber gets damaged and they become useless.

Those are great. I have a pair of them and I use them a lot. I can move sheet steel with ease. I also used them to assemble some cabinets a while back.

there is no coo markings on them and no stickers either. I didn't think to ask my mac guy either. After searching google they look more like the motion pro or sunnex versions than the Vin ones I had originally saw.

Wow that slot chisel looks so good. Like something out of an industrial design portfolio. Where'd you get it? I am not finding anywhere to buy one when I search.

I would also like to know about the PB Swiss chisel.

It really is a nice piece, I can't wait to beat the f**k out of it! I bought it from PBtools.us during their black friday sale.

http://www.shop.pbtools.us/Slot-Chisel-with-bent-shaft-bilateral-cutting-edge-804-Bent.htm

I currently use a Lisle 51900 spot weld chisel, but sometimes the extra curve would be nice. The PB Swiss is a bit thicker, I might grind it down if it gets me into trouble.

I have 2 long nose snap on pliers that I use a lot. The one is a 45* and the other is a straight. But once in a blue moon I find a situation where I could use a 90*. Mostly for those little pressure spring clamps. I didn't want to spend snap on money on something that wasn't gonna get used much or hard.
This was the best option for the money. These are auto craft 90 pliers found at advance auto. They have a decent nickel finish and the jaws fit nice 11bucks

Decent set of calipers for the money but doesn't feel as solid or just... "good" as my Mitutoyo 4" set. The action isn't as smooth on it which is fine for measuring things but maybe not as good for marking with the jaws since it's hard to get it in exactly the position you want.

Cheapo transfer punch set. I've had a few occasions in the past where I thought maybe having a set would have been handy so for 15$ I figured I'd get a cheap set and see if I ever end up using them. They say on the package that they are .0025" undersize for "Ease of use" and they are dead nuts on .0025" undersize for every one I measured. I think I measured all of the "normal" easy to remember sizes. 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2. The stand they are on is a pile of puke of junk that's not straight or true but it does hold them upright so I guess it's doing its job. The other thing is it is just been doused in that gross shipping oil that all cheap tools have. I'm not sure how to clean it off considering all the tiny spaces in the stand and all. My usual approach is to spray things with starter fluid and wipe it off. Anyone have a better approach for cleaning gunky tools? I've also got a set of angle plates that are just doused in the stuff.

I also got my Wera/Felo sale stuff from ash95608. All in all a very good experience. I kinda wish I had bought more!

This little pouch screwdriver set is awesome and despite being insulated for electrical work would be a great set for a trunk or glove compartment. Gives you a set of nice full size screwdrivers in a small contained package.

WdHqE2P.jpg

The only big difference between these and the regular Kraftforms is they are very light. When you've got one of the blades in the handle it still feels really light much lighter than a standard fixed Kraftform screwdriver.

A fleet of Felo 550 series drivers and a Ergo series 1/4" socket handle. These all feel extremely good and like high quality tools. I think I actually like the 550 series handles better than the Ergo which doesn't surprise me much as I'm not all that much of a fan of the Ergo bottle opener I got from KC Tools a while back. The 550 are the striking series competing with the Wera Chiseldrivers which I also have. Next time I get a need to chiseldrive something I'll use them and see how they compare.

And finally, Amazon Warehouse BF deal:
VoyqcxK.jpg

There's some disc brake work in my future so I got this kit. Since I end up maintaining everyone's cars in my household I figured getting a set of adapters was probably a good idea. I also PM'd astro_pneumatic_tools beforehand to check that it had the right adapters for my VW. One kinda crappy part on the set is the case and that's what most of the reviews I saw complained about. I actually don't find that the pieces on the lid fall out. They're pretty secure. It's all of the pieces in the bottom half of the shell. If you hold the case upside down it's pandemonium in there. So I'm just careful moving it around to keep it upright or if I lay it down lay it down right-side up and it's good to go.

Can't wait for my calipers to arrive. Did they come with a legit cert as it stated?

And those transfer punches kinda look like ****. At least the stand does. But hey, for $15, wth.

It came with a bonafide piece of paper. Thanks Jacky Fu! As long as your numbers aren't the same as my numbers then it looks like someone is atleast taking it for a test drive before boxing it up and shipping out. Maybe someone else knows how to lookup what those NIST numbers given signify or reference?

Where';d you order it from? Do you like it? I was googling after I saw your pics, and it looks really awesome with that spring clip.

Also, what car has that valve cover gasket leak?

These are a real lifesaver. Bought the 180 one to do hoses on my Commander. Don't think I could have done the job without it.

Holy Cow! I just picked these up old stock at my Sears. They must have found them in a back room while cleaning. They are fracking awesome! I have ever had one out of a package before. Nicest feeling grip I have seen. Compete real well with my 20 year old snap on's but I think I like these better. **** looking too. Paid a few bucks for this set considering they are discontinued but they were worth it.
