Looks brand new and the action is nice and smooth.

You might need something with a little more leverage on that big ole' socket.

Holy hell 55mm socket? I'm glad I never needed that big of one. That just looks like work!

Finally got a set of Armstrong Allen sockets. I didn't know the case was going to be so huge! It's a solid 3" thick as well.

I picked up these small Wiss cutters today at HD. I figured they would be good to cut some stuff that don't require a large set of bolt cutters.

Are those made in Japan ? They look identical to a set I have had for ages, fricken things cut anything you can get in the jaws.

Don't worry the metric set is my next purchase.

I've had this idea in my head for a while now that I should stop working in inches and move over to millimeter. It's a hard step to take when most your measuring and hole making tools are in inch. I need to stop thinking of it as retooling, and just as buying more tools, that feels a lot easier to handle.

My local used tool shop had the following items, apparently a local (flood) restoration business was down sizing and getting rid of a few trucks. Most tools were used once or in new condition. The shop wasn't giving them away, but the price was fair, especially since I don't have regular access to the truck. Prices were in CAD as well, so it saves me almost 50% compared to eBay (USD exchange, international shipping, duties).

I picked up one of each.

Good choice  Got the same impact, very pleased with it. Where did you get the case?

Nevermind: found it on Amazon, holy price check. :willy_nil They do look very stout for sure.

Yeah, the price is pretty high but I've been using one of their smaller cases for a few years now and it has held up really well. I travel a fair bit for work so it's worth it for me to spend the extra money.

Got some new wrenches. Selling my Snap On wrenches now that I got these Wright wrenches in. Also I bought an SAE set of the Dewalt wrenches. Saw them in Sears the other day but they were a little higher than I wanted to spend on an SAE set of wrenches that I'll barely use ($69 I think?). But Amazon had the set for $30 shipped.

Also took a picture for size comparison. 10mm Wright, 10mm Snap On, and 3/8" Dewalt.

I have a pair of 6-ton Torins. I just purchased the 2 1/2 Ton Craftsman for $9 a couple days back (perfect for tire rotations). The 6-tons are way too high for a German vehicle, but great for working under the vehicle (locking pins included)

I've got those 6 ton HF jacks as well and really like them. They're very heavy and feel solid, but are also really tall. I have to jack my Jetta sky high for them.

I bought the individual pieces too. Definitely looking forward to your video. It is odd that the four piece set is made in China. Time will tell. :p

Drill America Qualtech Jobber drill bit set. Came from Amazon Warehouse Deals for 13$! They're not USA made but I've been using the same B&D homeowner set since I had an apartment and these feel a lot nicer. Someday I'll splurge on some Norseman Cobalts but in the meantime I think these guys will do just fine. Also they came in a USA made Huot drill index which was a surprise.

Looks like they were used a few times for drilling wood based on the sawdust in the index / on the bits. There's not a scratch on them though so they were used very few times.

I also picked up more of the bolstered Kobalt screwdrivers, and a second 1/4" flat head as the test subject for my Chiseldriver shootout / torture test video I'm starting to plan out. I might post a separate thread to try to get some ideas for what to test and general planning.

Also as someone else said, there is a 4 pack of these screwdrivers sold right with them that is marked as Maid in China. It's really odd that these individuals are marked Made in USA from global components. I wonder if the S shaped screwdriver included with the 4 piece set pushes them over some % made in China for the entire package where they can no longer claim Made in USA from global components or something? :dunno:

Cleaned em out I see

I compared the Chinese versus United States' American

And

The striking surfaces are different and I think the metal shank and the font on it appeared 'off'.

Coworker is retiring and sold me both of these for $150 bucks. Just cleaned em up a bit.

A used tool shop?
Yikes I would be in that place every day.
It would get ugly quick I reckon.

Thanks!

It's a great little shop on the east side of Calgary, from what I've seen they don't give stuff away, but the prices are fair. Plus it saves on shipping or running around town to get deals off of private sellers on Kijiji.
