Man, all these Milwaukee Fuel pictures are making me want to pick up my own set, no idea whether I need 18v or if I can get by with 12v, definite preference is for the 12v since it's smaller. Should finally have new tools here Saturday, and my new Monster Mobile light that brandon523 convinced me to buy should be here Monday.

Sure can never have enough tools, and I love getting mail. :bounce:

Yeah I saw that, one tool will be the 3/8 impact wrench, what do I want the second tool to be? I plan on getting more eventually, but for right now what would be most useful? I'm going to use them for automotive repair, so I was thinking the impact driver? Or should I get the ratchet? 3/8 or 1/4?

3/8 ratchet for sure. It comes with a 1/4 adapter should you need it.

I wound up getting the drill and impact combo for $229. I wanted to get two free tools but the $169 for the 1/4 impact driver and the $179 for the 1/2 drill/driver came to $348 with my two free tools being the 3/8 ratchet and the oscillating multi-tool.

So again, I went the $229 combo route, got the 3/8 ratchet, and will be buying the oscillating multi-tool for $63 MAXIMUM off of eBay for a grand maximum total of $292. $56 less than I would have paid. I lose two batteries on the deal though, but I think I can live with that for now.

It's crazy seeing your location man. I used to date a girl named Stephanie Aubin from Pflugerville, back when we were both in the Marine Corps.

I need the 3/8 impact, so I'm looking at that with the free 3/8 ratchet, and then I'd get the 1/2 drill with the free impact driver, saves me $60 over getting the combo since I don't see anything else that really interests me, unless you see something worth the $60. I'm going to call up my home depot tomorrow and see if they'll accept harbor freight 20% coupons, if they do then everything else can be bought for close to that $60.

Eta: Didn't realize the freebie wasn't fuel, guess I'll get the combo kit and what should I get free?

Sounds like a plan man. Good luck to you.

The impact looks pretty sweet. I only passed it up because I'm still using an older DeWalt 18v with good results. I think I'll be buying more Milwaukee M12 and M18 tools in the future.

I bought a M12 drill and impact driver combo and didn't like them, but they weren't the FUEL versions. They were the regular brushed versions. I think I'll be getting a heck of a lot of use out of the ratchet.

Really liked my Napa 1/4 socket set from Cripe so have been lookin for the elusive 3/8. Found a new in plastic set on ebay for $49. Just as nice as the 1/4 set, will be great for the service truck.

Sorry for it being upside down, not sure what happened.

While she might be like "aww thanks Hun I love it""
In all reality let's face it.... she really doesn't give two shits what brand it is. It's pink and it turns screws and will run a screw into the drywall to hold her frilly wreath looking thing she bought from home goods!

I swore a while back I'd stop buying tools as I really don't need anything. There was one ratchet set I wanted badly, but that was the only thing on my list. And then my ******* looked at the Hot Deals section again and DAMN IT!, a deal too good too pass up.

And I finally ordered the ratchet set I've been wanting. These things are SAWEET!, they are so close to as smooth as the best GW offers. Comparing them to my other larger ratchets, it's almost a joke how smooth they are to my 1/2" drives. Ya I know SO and even GW might be better, but these were affordable compared to SO. Also the length is very impressive. Notice the 3/8" drive is close to the longest older ratchets I have. And it's a damn shame I can't use the shadow holder, I just don't have room but it sure is nice.

I saw this thing on here ( ? ) several months ago. I thought it was WAY cool and real useful. Checked Snap-On on line and it was like $180.00.
Nah. For how often I would use it, its not worth that coin for me.

So my Snap-On guy shows up today with this thing on the truck.

It needs a serious cleaning and a little love here and there, but it should serve me well.
Oh, he only wanted forty bucks for it. SCORE !!!!!!!

I purchased a pair of Klein 1001 stripper/crimpers recently:

Klein 1001 wire stripper-crimper pliers.jpg

While I'm sure they'll work fine for stripping, I thought a better crimper would be in order.
I was actually kind of surprised when I saw the Proamerica - I didn't think they would be that big. They seem to be fairly serious crimpers for $29.

I'm impressed by the workmanship on the Proamerica/KAL items I've gotten - that's why I keep buying it:
Proamerica 4018 5.75 in long smooth-jaw needle nose pliers.jpgProamerica 4020 4-12 Curved Long Nose Serrated Jaw Pliers.jpgProamerica 4028 4-34 Long Nose With Cutter Serrated Jaw Pliers.jpgProamerica 4040 4.5 in angled flush cutter pliers.jpg
Proamerica miniature pliers 4024 4030 detail 02.jpgProamerica miniature pliers.jpgKAL 501 1.4 drive socket set.jpg

It is my understanding they may expand the line and offer other types of hand tools as well, which is no small undertaking in such a competitive market.
I am sure they are aware they will succeed only if they offer a quality product.
(That tiny ratchet, btw, is actually very nice.)

I have both sets of these and have zero issues with either yet. Not pro use but DIY/Home they are great and pretty sure napa will warranty with carlyle if they break.

How is the quality of the Gearwrench stuff other than wrenches? I only have experience with their ratcheting wrenches.

I have their wrenches already and the 120 xp ratchets, this will be the first of their handled tools. They feel very nice and look good but only time will tell. For what I use these for they will be fine, I don't use them for work I just fix all my own stuff and some friends, so I won't be putting them through their paces like a mechanic would.
