I bought this same set except with the red handles. Look at this picture Phillips on the left, flat head on the right. Every single Phillips chrome shank looked all jacked up, and every single flat head was perfect. I ordered them directly from the Mactools website, brand new they arrived like this. At the same time I also ordered a 8 piece mini electronic screwdriver set, made in Taiwan. Those minis every Phillips shank was installed at a slight crooked angle in relation to the handle, and every flat head was perfect. I was not having any of this, sent them back for a full refund. Dealing with their customer service and return process was AWFUL to say the least, it took over two months to get my money back. I'll never buy a single tool from Mac ever again. I hope your set is perfect for the amount the charge.

That ***** and I agree with you! I do like Mac, but I stick to the USA stuff and avoid Taiwan when I can. I have that style of screwdrivers but mine have no problems. Having a good driver makes a big difference.

I went back and looked at my set closer. All of my blades are good to go, nothing chipped or crooked luckily. The only difference I noticed was that the bolsters on the flat blades were polished whereas, the bolsters on the phillips blades weren't buffed out as much and left as satin finished. No nicks or chrome issues though. I bought mine slightly used but, most of them are new. They are too expensive off of the truck. I'm sorry your set came screwed up. That's one problem with buying online, you can't examine what you're buying. :dunno:

Paid $169 American. Wasn't really looking for a deal. Knew I wanted them for awhile so just finally pulled the trigger on them.

Nice. I have that same set. I got it back in April at Home Depot for $149.99. They both are awesome little tools. The chuck on the drill wobbles a little more than I like but oh well

Very neat.

Are the tips bent or are they supposed to be that way for some reason?

They are supposed to be like that. They work very well on motorcycle transmission snap rings. I have a full set of SnapOn snap ring pliers including the ones with the changeable tips and there are times where I couldn't get the snap ring off. My boss had a set of the pliers pictured and I would have to steal them out of his box to get the ****** apart. He couldn't remember where he got his and I could never find a place to buy them. Until now!!! Haha

Got a couple new tools within the last few days. First, a bare 18v Bosch impact wrench and second an adjustable 120 led underhood work light. I already had two 6ah Bosch batteries and eight 2ah batteries for my drill and impact driver.
The first pics of the same shot of the work light are on low(40 leds) and the second pics are all 120 led's and supposedly 1200 lumens.

Cruising Amazon the other morning and finally pulled the trigger on a couple pairs of Knipex after looking at them for far too long. Bought a 7" plier-wrench and some 10" cobras and I have to wonder why I didn't do it sooner! I certainly see myself expanding this collection as funds allow.

Anyone know why the cobras have textured handles vs the smooth dipped handles on the plier wrench? I feel like they would be harder to clean. Oh well, they are just tools...

Used it yesterday when it arrived as i had a shaft i was building to keep as a spare for my truck, it worked flawlessly. So much nicer than a set of pliers when dealing with the stainless Oetikers on larger CV's, the only obvious downside is the size.

I think Monte has this tool too so he might be able to chime in.

I would think that most times if installing an oetiker clamp or something like that you would most likely have room for this type of tool.

Looks like you could use a thumb wheel or palm ratchet with it, or did it take a lot of effort to clamp it down?

Very true!

I think to get the crimp truly tight (Nissan spec was no more than 2mm gap once the tool had been released) you would need something a bit more than a palm ratchet to get enough force.

The tips on those snap ring pliers are kinda of week I snapped 2 of them on nothing special. Got it warranty replaced on both at Menards. The quick reverse mechanism seems to be working decently so far tho.

Thanks for the info I don't encounter many snap rings but I'll be sure to be careful when I so.

Thanx!

Here is a pic with the sheath off. He also gave me a option of hat or wallet and picked wallet as I have 20+ s/o hats. Really nice quality replacing my old beat up one I've had for 5+ years. 24600559c2600bba71bb02340a0c2270.jpg

My friend is retiring and closing his business and had this laying around. Passed it on to me. A no-name vise, but the jaws open to 6" and it seems to work smoothly.

Aldi is new to Southern California and our neighborhood. For those that don't know they are a German Market they carry food, fresh fruits, vegetables and a few hardware items. At least ours does and their prices are Great. I purchased this bucket for $2.99 and it's made in Germany to boot. I am using it as my second bucket while washing the car for rinsing :) Sorry for the out of Focus label but I think you can still see the "Made in Germany"
