Never saw a kit with the German made Craftsman Pro screwdriver so I bought it. $10 at the local pawn shop, looks like it's never been used.

This stuff came in the mail on Saturday. Can't wait to try the SK Drum Brake C-clip pliers. Snap-on didn't make any and SK was the only US ones I could find.

I just picked up Snap-on's RTD48 Rethreading Kit and CJ2001P Bolt Grip Puller Set. Looking to get the tap and die set and extractor set next.
2 great sets  Taps and dies and extractors are nice for the warranty. I'd bought rex25, TD-2425, TDM117A. I'd ultimately like to by both larger tap and dies set. which will cover just about everything. I think you can get pipe plug and LH Bits and twist extractors from Irwin or other brand on amazon for cheap... and for the amount I use them I couldnt justify snappys prices... :dunno:

I got sick of my old princess auto pancake compressor that was super loud and spun in circles as it ran, so I picked up this combo kit to finish all the trim work I started in the house.

Here are some tools I picked up during the last week:

Local industrial tool supply:

Lisle Model #14700 Low Profile Oil Filter Socket (Made in China)

This particular socket will remove the cartridge style oil filters from Ecotec engines out of Saturn Ions 2003-2007 and Chevy Cruzes 2011-2015. Please check out this Amazon link for other car makes and models this oil filter socket is compatible: LINK.

Proto 21mm, 12pt, Deep Socket (Made in the U.S.)

Channellock 6" Thin Jaw Adjustable Wrench (Made in Spain)

This is the type of tool I like to buy in person. I was able to try out the 6 units in stock for side-to-side and up-and-down jaw wobble with my hand. There was slight to no wobble with the 6 units. In addition, I was able to pick out the best unit with regards to jaw alignment.

Menards:

Knipex 7-1/4" Long Pliers Wrench (Made in Germany)

Since the Menards price was slightly lower than the HomeDepot.com (for the lowest price on the internet) for this item, I purchase the pliers here. Again, this is the kind of tool I like to buy in person to pick out the best unit with regards to jaw alignment. In addition, I wanted to take advantage of Menards 11% rebate that ended yesterday.

Wilde 3 Piece Nail Set (Made in the U.S.)

HomeDepot.com:

Channellock 9.5" High Leverage Cutting Pliers (Made in the U.S.)

The pliers' strengths are in removing staples, nails, and cotter pins due to their angled outer head design and long handles.

Brownsfan,

I think you have been to this one before. I purchased the above tools from Lakeshore Tool & Equipment in Lorain.

Dave

Love that place. They do need to order in some new SK/Proto/Wright stock. They sell Knipex now too? I have bought a lot of my Klein from them as well as all of my SK. They do have the largest Channellock selection I have ever seen. Now Knipex. I will never need another tool store. Very nice people to deal with.

Nice Wilde set.

I like the look of that Wilde set as well.

To both,

For such an inexpensive set, Wilde manufactured some nice knurling on each nail punch!

In addition, for the 1/32" punch, the knurling is through out the shaft. For the 2/32" punch, there are 2 separate knurlings. Lastly, for the 3/32" punch, there are 3 separate knurlings. I did not notice this before until now. It is a nice touch by Wilde!

Gonna have to check that place out!

jeffmoss26,

Before you check out this place, you better write a list of what you want and stick to this list. Otherwise, you will walk out of there spending hundreds of dollars!:willy_nil

They carry Wright Tools, Proto, SK (NOS; the SK distributor has not been there for almost 1 year to re-stock), Channellock, Norseman drill bits (metric and standard), Sunex impact tools, Gearwrench, Metabo power tools and accessories; Wiha screwdrivers, Lisle, OTC automotive tool sets, Wilton vises and hammers; Irwin vise grips, Klein, Ridgid plumbing tools, and others.

A good many of their prices are at or below internet prices even if paying by credit card. I would ask them to do a computer price lookup with their system to be sure.

Here is their website: LINK.

By the way, they can also order anything from the Mayhew, Knipex, and Vim Tools (Durston Manufacturing Co.) catalogs.

Do it and bring cash. Tim (owners son I believe) will make you cash deals. I got most of my Klein and my Proto Duratek scredriver set(which I use daily) from there. I bought misc Channellock and Wright and SK from there as well. Its a great place to get quality USA tools for a good price and help a local company at the same time. I have even had them order me stuff and paid a few bucks more over Amazon but was glad to.

had any play time with it yet?

Not yet, gotta go and get the argon bottle refilled today. I'm hoping to build a stand for the deep cut bandsaw to make horizontal cuts. Already have the vertical stand and miter gauge on order from swag

I really like my StLP die grinders. I've been considering getting a cutoff and possibly and air hammer. Did you get it straight from StLP?

Yes, I ordered it from them just a few days ago. Free, fast shipping.

I also wanted a 90* die grinder and a straight die grinder. But I couldn't find much of anything on the internet or even this site on them--good or bad. So I bought the cheapest of the three tools I wanted from them and figured I'd give it a go. If it works as well as it feels and looks, I'll be ordering the other two tools I want shortly.

I have a straight and a 90 degree die grinder from them. Granted I don't use them all that often they work great. I really like them. They also have stuff available online through Home Depot for cheaper.

I ordered something from HD once and it took some ungodly amount of time to get to me...10-14 days or something like that for an in stock item. The price difference on this was around $3. I'd rather see a small company get it than some giant big box store. Thanks for the tip though! I wont use these often either, but I have a few projects coming up where they will be huge time savers.

I just picked up Snap-on's RTD48 Rethreading Kit and CJ2001P Bolt Grip Puller Set. Looking to get the tap and die set and extractor set next.

If I could add a tip... I bought the large all inclusive snap on tap and die set. I don't know the part number off the top of my head, but it was around $470 Canadian. Love it. For everything but one part. Every time I use it, I feel like I am pulling a suitcase out of my tool box. The case it came in is as big as a briefcase, and wastes a ton of space. I wish I would have looked into whether or not I could get SAE and Metric in separate kits. Would save me a ton of room in my extract/tap/drill drawer.

Just something to think about.
