New guy here, but I can already tell that this thread is going to be bad news for my pocketbook.

What does everyone think of Tekton?

MsYmIXN5Z9E-35WlZHJsZF0Aym-dYNe9KItnLW0Wz4sv2HLlXNtsQBNTeu0PsvOw2dDQtLpXg1pNty-C9Vjs1cV6rMa3Jr-yfKqIxh81eot1s1Hnt5fg3wDmCIkK5LNxon0lXkrlBf3_WiKh9sLRFv5OxweMmngrEvIaOe2Rvicu30NDXzY4IQBUakOh4rwHzRaxKtoQ24Z0iFQyNCxkN3vknaWRZUb-TpfaOKkXslxijTE1Y7vZkbZtSoBMG_f9MnE-ox7zmGOo6cBLBfFRzgmLGEh1MveP1IdqPe145R4F7bdP7Wp-i1xAN7rka8HCPZI8JoQiiuVaLxNVHIzvBpIZiGsk3_lL-hkrhebdes173r2tn0e1SX7C0R97-XE2ryTOOTssgLg0zUlH0CBQPaWgxVbovP0PVrodIE9KfvRSNWVOIAkv1Yj69oKLWawpyu5IiUQwM6HISIUShKLWvHuK3O_tEXujhOPBQi5fClKFe0dGras06HvHVkYTkKn0AgzS5MmhrQ4WMr6MDdteq-a-d0D6pzBCRoor_m4RcXtfePrfdt3MvOtveDQgMUuMw-gGEtEd7R13m8MO96oW2BckDrF7qzBLnM42Legq-OgJcG6bS8ScFg=w1064-h599-no

Saw these and they looked good enough that I couldn't pass them up for the price.

The jury's still out on Tekton. Just got a set of their wobble extensions. Haven't used them yet. They don't have their name, logo, part number, or any identifiable marking on them. Usually only see that with low quality tools.

They used to be, and some stuff still is, but they've really become a value leader.

I've been impressed with their customer service on Amazon and their website is really good.

"Value" is a good term. Their new stuff looks pretty decent, the prices are right, and the guarantee can't be beat. They seen to be trying hard to become the new craftsman.

More of a supply than a tool, but I think I'm good on hose clamps for a while.:bounce:

I needed a hose clamp last weekend and Autozone wants nearly a dollar a piece for the tiny cheese-grade imports. I never have any when I need them. Problem solved.

Amazon. Someone here posted it a while back, and the price was mid 80s. I happened to look last week and it was ~$65. Looking at the price history on camelcamelcamel.com, I figured it wasn't going any lower and jumped. Its now back in the 80s again.

I'm a mobile tech and just got this in yesterday. I haven't loaded it yet, but that's the plan for this weekend among some serious relaxing from the sun.

That looks nice....USA and stainless. If you have too many, you might consider breaking up the set and sell maybe one of each size in a pack to other GJ members....I guarantee they'd sell and help offset your cost.

Got this from Lowes today in the mail. Not that I didn't already have too many brad nailers but wanted one that was 18ga and went to 2". I was really happy with my Porter Cable nailers but after handling this one I'm convinced I will like it WAY better.

I got an engineer's hammer from my late grandfather's basement and visited the Snap-on man for this chisel holder and my first ratcheting screwdriver.

I also got the new triple row Snap-on tray in metric.

I promptly cut it up and replaced one Hansen tray and one socket rail.

I also got this enormous sledge hammer head from my grandmother's basement, it must be 20-25lb. I plan to clean it up and buy a new handle when I get some free time.

New stuff from Epsteins, Metabo, DeWalt, Milwaukee, the local Woodcraft's "garage sale" and HornkaFabriken. This is all over the couple months.

The clamp rack, which was $5 from Woodcraft, cost another $30 in hardware and casters. Still less than 1/4 the normal cost of a rolling clamp rack. The clamps on the rack are not new, just gathered into one place from being scattered across multiple locations in my shop.

All the "small" stuff (mostly carbide burrs for the Metabo) is from my Epstein's order. The DeWalt blower was purchased as a bare tool for $79, and came with a free 2.0Ah battery. I'd been thinking about getting it but couldn't quite justify it. The free battery pushed me over the edge.

With all the great achievements of mankind, why havent scratchPROOF safety glasses been designed?

Ive been through a bunch of different brands over many years, but even the scratch resistant ones fall short of the demands of a working man. So in the trash they go, with nothing wrong but the scratches.

Just got these to try something different...

Needed a new hood, as every time I used my HF it had just enough delay that my eyes hurt after even small jobs. Was just going to grab a Kobalt after reading reviews, but popped onto eBay after seeing a 1 day $15 off code in the "Hot Deals" section. Saw this Snap-on YA4606 for $80 from a pawn shop, got it for $65 shipped.
65545362-2038-4c21-9658-dc046fef559d_zps18hzs8lq.jpg

It was listed that it worked great, but wasn't working when it arrived. Pulled the battery, it metered good and realized whoever had it last had it in backwards. Probably why it ended up in a pawn shop, and why it was listed for so cheap.

I think the graphics are ugly as sin, but nothing some use and maybe some stickers will cover up.

Yeah, Snap-On needs to fire everyone in their art graphics department that came up with the designs they put on their welding hoods. :puke:
No joke. Somehow all the truck brands get stuck 20 years behind with anything with specialty graphics. The amount of free hats with goofy flames, barbed wire and tribal **** I've tossed out over the years is staggering.:lol_hitti

Agreed...

I turn down that dirtbaggy ****. I always imagine that their graphic designer wears an Affliction t-shirt every day of his life.

It's probably a matter of money. More profit for them to keep churning out what they currently make rather than producing something better or putting the $'s and research into doing so. I have an idea of how to make safety glasses better, but considering it's not already made, I doubt it's that feasible.

I like all those blue locking pliers I see in the background.

I noticed that too.

That's a ton of Vice Grips

More interested in the Apache in the background!

Haha I'm not the only one who studies the background of pictures 😂. Here's a post about my vise grip rack:
http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showpost.php?p=6438648&postcount=17

The Apache isn't mine, it belongs to my landlord. I don't believe I have any more pictures of it.

Socket roll on indiegogo... great concept, too bad they don't have different options on what sizes you'd want to store.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah...I googled and found the site www.socketroll.com (simple enough) and sent the guy a message about that and he said they were working on different versions, but they wanted to get this one off the ground first. I said I would like to see a full metric one, as most of the imports I work on are usually metric, so maybe in the future.

I got mine loaded though and it works pretty well.

No they don't. I've seen the Bahco and Snap On versions both made in Argentina. I have 2 Snap Ons.
