Definitely one of the strangest/best Ross scores I've ever had.

My dealer finally got my screwdrivers In! These are the new sets that come with a PH 4, Ordered these right after the snap on expo. Apparently it comes with a free umbrella. I am a green junkie but I don't think I'll be using this in public lol, a little too loud for me.

Something I just noticed, the Phillips "ACR" seems much less pronounced than before. The "teeth" are much less aggressive. Also only the PH 1 and 2 have them, not the 3 or 4. df1b2d8e920d00a7a67ea990179f1551.jpg

I will totally buy that umbrella off you!

VERY NICE! Hope I fall into a brand new set dirt cheap like that.
Well, I can mark this off my bucket list.....finally got a NICE set of Snap-On metric wrenches

This is a USED set (can't figure out what he ever used them on) that doesn't have a mark, or a scratch, or a dent, or a ding, ANYWHERE!!....I'm almost scared to use them!!!!
They are flank drive.....NOT flank drive plus

20171130_165331.jpg 20171130_165255.jpg 20171130_165242.jpg

All the wrenches in this set has the 1997 date code on them "except" the 13 mm which has a 1996 date code.....figure that one out :dunno:

20171130_180835.jpg

p.s.....I got this set for way less than what I have seen extremely used/abused and mis-matched set go for ;)

How much was the shipping on those wrenches?

I honestly have no need for anything that big but for $60 plus shipping, it's one of those 'you never know, maybe one day I'll need them" kind of things.

$9.99 for shipping.

Haha shoot me an offer! It deploys automatically, It's awesome but I don't think my old lady would let me walk around with this with her lol.

As soon as I saw your post I called my Snap On buddy and asked where my green handled golf umbrella is... Lol!!

He said they are in still in his c can, just came in the other day... He's going to save me one...

So Thursday night I was on the truck picking up a few things and I was fondling the new FHLLF80 extra long comfort grip flex head ratchet. Couldn't help myself so I stopped by my dealer's house tonight and bought that as well. Pretty sweet.

Picked it up for 35 bucks, no plans to use it soon but wish I had it when I was doing headgaskets on one of my cars over the summer!

I just grabbed one on Amazon this week for 35 for the exact reason. NEXT TIME my truck eats a belt, I'll be glad I have it. Which is better than the other way around.

Well I just bought the Stihl TSA 230 as an early Christmas gift to myself today. I got it as the kit with the battery and charger plus two additional blades for $600 at a dealer in Milford,NH. Also this weeks Snap On purchases which are the SAE general service set and the two hard handle ratchets will be gifts. The Snap On 14.4V saw I bought 2 weeks ago off the truck.

That snap on saw looks very similiar in the blade chuck, blade shoe and overall design to the metabo one, except the metabo is 18v

Wonder what chinese factory is pumping them out? It does say made in PRC.

Same, at 35 it was to good to pass up. Lowest I've seen it before was 44 I think. Everything seems fine to me, curious how much thinner it really will be as opposed to say a 1/2 or 3/8" breaker bar tho

Tekton Goodness.

I ordered an 8-32 mm double boxed end wrench set, an 8mm stubby wrench, and a couple of 10 mm ratcheting wrenches, one stubby, and one regular. I also picked up one of their Tech rescue kits containing precision bits, nut drivers, ESD safe tweezers, precision bit holding screwdriver, a couple of spudgers & a suction cup in a nice zippered case.
this was my first order directly from Tekton.com, and I'm impressed. It only took a couple of days to reach me. It was extremely well packed. to give you an idea of how well packed the order was, see the stubby 8mm wrench? each of the loose wrenches were inside a plastic bag, which was placed inside a separate sealed cardboard pouch. Each loose wrench was packed this way. No wrenches rubbed against each other in this package. The large boxed end wrench set was packed in its own box. the shipment was well padded.
Quality tools, well packed, speedy shipment. Tekton may be on to something here.:bowdown::bowdown:

Sonic Goodness. I picked up a few things from the Sonic Tools clearance section. I got a 38 piece cleaning brush set. A lube set with oil filter wrench, and an assortment of drain plug sockets geared to european cars. A six piece 1/2 drive impact socket/ hex bit set containing three deep 12 point sockets 30, 32, & 36 mm with 14, 17, & 19mm hex bits. A six piece combination flat/phillips screwdriver set. In the second picture, is a magnet impact wrench holder. it will hold your impact wrench, three deep impact sockets across the top, and either an extension, torque stick, or a couple more sockets on the bottom. Also in the picture is a Sonic tools try before you buy sample box of a 3/8 3 inch extension, shallow & deep 17mm six point sockets, T40 torx driver, a P#2 screwdriver, a 17 mm combination, a 3/8 drive 45 tooth ratchet, and a pair of rebadged NWS combination pliers. The sample kit was free.:D

Recent Ebay stuff:
Pictured is a few recent ebay acquisitions. Milwaukee Fuel M18 1/2 drive mid torque impact wrench with friction ring (the larger one is just too damn heavy), a Milwaukee M12 Fuel 1/4 drive ratchet. A MATCO 15.5 inch long locking flex head 3/8 drive ratchet with green comfort grip. A 9 circle pair of spring loaded flat band hose clamp pliers. these have wider jaws than a regular pair of slip joint pliers and notches across the top of the jaws and along their length so you can grip hose clamps in two directions. Nice pliers if you mess with flat band hose clamps. Also pictured are two VIM long ratcheting bit drivers. one is eight inches long, while the locking flex head version is about 12 inches long. They have thin heads and crisp fine tooth action.

Dewalt 205 piece Mechanics tool set goodness. This set was featured recently on Toolguyd as an Amazon deal of the day. I'm usually not a fan of these large blow molded tool sets but, this one called to me. It has a great selection of 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 six point sockets along with the redesigned 72 tooth pear head ratchet. The ratchets lost weight, have better balance than the original dewalt pear head ratchet with quick release, and feel pretty good. Did I mention that this set has nice chrome? The only thing that bugs me slightly is that all of the sockets have knurling on their bases. :wtf: my mind is conditioned that knurling is for metric sockets only.
For $90 and prime shipping delivered quickly after ordering, I couldn't say no.

Teng Tools

Yep in the spirit of Edd China, i picked up some Teng tools over Black Friday. I'll probably think of Wheeler Dealers (although the new series started using MAC tools in the last couple of episodes) when I reach for their satin ugliness.
Pictured below is a set of their antislip combination wrenches. and a 34 piece 3/8 drive socket set. Both sets feature removable lids so, you can place them in a Teng toolbox drawer.
The wrench set runs from 8-19 mm. each wrench has a small hole in its beam behind the open end so, you can tether it. the box ends feature off corner engagement, while the open end is a modified anti slip v cut. The beam swell slightly in the middle for a more comfortable grip. Standard length.
The Socket set features an assortment of 20 flat, phillips, torx, & hex bits, a bit holder, 8-19 mm shallow six point sockets, a 3 & 6 inch extension, a locking round 72 tooth flex head quick release ratchet with comfort grip, and a sliding tee adapter. The adapter is something truly european inspired as you can use it with either extension to make a sliding tee handle, or as a 1/2 inch female to 3/8 male reducer. :wtf: Everything is satin finished.

Fedwrench, how's the cleaning brushes? I bought a set off the matco truck a while back and they are pretty much done for, that looks like a more extensive set. And how did you get the try before you buy set? My helper needs one lol

Fedwrench,

Can you please show a close up of the jaws of the flat band hose clamp pliers?

Who is the manufacturer of those pliers?

Thanks,

Fedwrench,

Do you own a Dewalt 3/8" drive ratchet from the first design when it was heavier?

If yes, can you take a picture of the old and new Dewalt 3/8" drive ratchets side by side?

I am curious how much thinner the newly designed ratchet is compared to the old one. I own a Dewalt mechanics tools set that includes the ratchets from the original design.

Thanks,

Dave

Milwaukee 3/8" Close Quarters Drill (Made in U.S.A)

I purchased this used drill on eBay for about $70 shipped. It was made by Sioux Tools for Milwaukee. The unique feature about this drill is its paddle trigger to control the chuck's speed. Here are some pictures:

I purchased these Knipex pliers on HomeDepot.com on Cyber Monday ($5 off $50+ purchase coupon) for under $64 shipped to my local Home Depot. Here are some pictures:

Picked up a 3/8 M12 impact from tooltopia, included the extra 6.0 battery to go along with the (2) standard 2.0. I was on the fence on whether to get the ratchet or the impact, but thought this might come in handier due to its size. It’s my first Cordless Milwaukee Tool, have yet to use it.. but it feels like a solid tool. I’ll probably keep my eyes out for the bare Tool ratchet, but need to do some more research on fuel versus standard.
