I have seen a lot of posts on line about them matching at different stores. I have two Lowes stores close to me. I went to the first and the pretty much laughed me out of the store. The second said they would, but only on tools and like the coupon says "only one item" . I was saving up and had the cash!

You never know unless you ask. Thanks. I will use this tip in the future if the store near me will accept others coupons.

AstA wrenches off ebay. Taiwan made. Very pretty and difficult to picture. Not sure about ergonomics though. Box ends have sharp(ish) edges, not comfortable in your palm when you need to pull them hard.

Those are good looking. Remind me of Genius long wrenches.

My local sears hometown still has a a couple dozen screwdrivers and scratch awls in a box for $1.88 so I grabbed a few for gifts, along with one of the last usa made wrenches in the store. Ball end torx to try out from a local bolt supplier

New Snap On SBF80A, wish it was a comfort grip, but not available yet. At least in the 1/2” drive it doesn’t feel awkward in my hand. Only has USA on handle, my driver told me if I machine it down to fit a comfort grip, he will still warranty it.

Very nice indeed. I have this set as well.
The doubling up on sizes is important because often a nut and bolt will have the same size. This allows you to use one wrench to hold the bolt head and the other to turn the nut.
You may also notice that these Genius wrenches are thought out well for the sizes. Instead of the standard 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, etc wrench sizes. They have the appropriate sizes that you will need on the one wrench. 10-12, 12-14, 14-17, 17-19 etc. This allows for the least amount of tools to be taken under the vehicle while still having double of each. With this example you can see that with 4 wrenches you can do almost all of the work underneath the vehicle. The 10 is not doubled because it is very rare that a bolt head of 10mm will have a nut with 10mm size.

KTC, Genius, Asahi, and a number of other brands have sizes like this. The tools are designed with consideration for their use. Instead of the standard 1, 2, 3, 4 increases which are not thought out to be useful.

You are absolutely correct and that why I double up on a Snap-On set. I purchase these since I gave one of the full Snap-On set to my father. The fit and finish looks really nice but I wish the handle was rounded off more. For 100 bucks these should be worth every penny. I didn’t fine a angle head set and if they do make one I’ll purchase it.

Finally after a little delay we got our new 8K Fiber Laser up and running.

During the install they found the Fiber Cable had been damaged. They shipped in a new Cable, not once but twice to find they were damaged in transit. The 3rd one worked...lost a week of production.

First part ran .104 CRS @ 500 IMP on the internals and 1000 IMP on the externals. With the factory settings. We should be able to dial those up and really make it sing...

We need to play with the new Skip Cut Option. Can do Square Perf patterns in seconds...

Usually, but not always, it American made double ended metric wrenches that have a hopeless size progression, the Japanese and the European makers have pretty much always made sizes that suit their own markets, since that is what was mostly seen in earlier times, JIS sizes in Japan, DIN in Europe, it may also be why here in the UK there are still so many wrench and socket sets that skip metric sizes you actually need since they are not aiming it at worldwide metric standards.

Had to take advantage of the SK holiday sale. Ordered the 4pc long set and 5pc standard set. I'm not sure why I ordered the standard 5pc set, I guess more curiosity than anything. But I gave them a test run replacing the oil filter housing/ oil cooler/oil pressure sensor/ coolant temp sensor/ manifold gaskets yesterday.
Moral of the story... I like my hard handle Snap-ons better.

Also ordered a power probe this afternoon.

My receipt shows the part # as ct761boot but I don't see it anywhere on their site. I did find a green one on ebay so I assume orange should be available too.

I can see where your coming from, i've been counter-holding the opposite end with a long pattern combo but a set with a few multiplies would be very useful, cant seem to get them here unfortunately.

Picked up a few things in the Christmas sales;

New set of milwaukee small needle nose locking pliers for crimping lines off. Also picked up some grip-on pliers to see what all the fuss was about. They're nice but i would never pay the snap-on price for them.

Pair of knipex auto wire strippers, nice for the £15 cost and made in Germany, strips from 0.2 - 6 wires so good for most things.

Also picked up a big pair of 16" channellocks, good for dealing with seized brake pistons when the smaller re-wind tool just wont cut it. If it takes more than this set of pliers to get the piston moving the caliper will be junk more than likely.
