Pick up at harbor freight. Front what little I've used it seems fairly good so I'll see how it lasts.755ec593c4e0b4cb755139e40110bdd7.jpg

Hello Guys,

Here are my purchases from the last 2 weeks:

SK Holiday Sale

I purchased 7 of the SK metric X-Frame ratcheting wrenches (Made in U.S.A.) with the 40% discount for about $20.92 a piece. That's a much better price per piece (mid to high 30's) than on SK's website, Amazon, or eBay. Upon arrival, I noticed that a few ratcheted slightly stiff and the rest ratcheted just right. In addition, 2 of the ratchets didn't ratchet smoothly between 2 consecutive gears. I soaked all 7 ratcheting heads in Mobil 1 0W-30 synthetic oil in a large measuring cup for 2 days. Now, all 7 box heads ratchet like butter.

I really want a set of those! I have them in my "list" on Amazon. Hopefully my wife will take the hint.

Unruh,

I hope your wife does buy you a set! They're very nice!! :pimpflash

If you do a search on Garage Journal, the cheapest online retailer to buy the SK X-Frame set is tooldiscounter.com and not Amazon. I think the metric X-Frame set used to run about $230 from tooldiscounter.com. I don't remember the piece count in the set.

During the SK Holiday Sale, SK featured a 12 pc metric X-Frame set in the $300 range. However, SK prevented the use of the 40% coupon. It doesn't make sense when you can buy that piece count set for less at other internet retailers.

Haven't posted in this thread before, but a few weeks ago, my wife told me I had to make an xmas list. Since I can never come up with anything, I decided to search through here to find some unique tool ideas. I have looked at pages after pages. Well, first thing that I got this year, a power probe micro torch. Have wanted one of these for quite awhile.

The second thing that just showed up, was this ebay find. A Tasco 48 circuit mapper system. Perhaps a little overkill for a homeowner, but once I saw one of these on an electrical forum, I decided I would keep an eye out for a good deal on one. Retail from Tasco is right at $1k, but I paid less than half of that. I figure once I map mine, I can do family and friends' places as well. Around here, builders have been notorious for not labeling panels well. Mine has about 10 breakers on one side that say lighting circuits and 10 on the other side that say outlets. In any case, excited to get to use this thing later this week.

Trying out my Chinese laser key cutting machine on a Chevy Cruze flip key. Places around here want at least $25 to cut a key so another 7 keys and I break even.

Got the Braun folding light from Harbor Freight for 19.99 we will see how it hols up. so far used for 2 hrs works great. we will see how it lasts.

I accidentally drove a car over mine coming off the alignment rack the other day. Heard a loud pop and the technician next to me picked up the light to show me what I had just run over. To my surprise it still functions perfectly, can't even tell what I did to it.

Also scored this set of batteries for my ridgid tools! Been needing more batteries as I have more tools than batteries and it is a pain to stop work and swap batteries !

3/4" HF ratchet and socket set kinda looks like it was forged by zombies, but for the handful of times that I'll need sockets in those sizes, it doesn't make a lot of sense to pay millions of dollars for Snap-On.

The ratchet and breaker bar feel like enough solid steel to get the job done.

Just picked this Klein D203-8 up at a local pawn shop for $12, new in package. I've been impressed with the smaller version.

My wife got me a Makita MAC 700 air compressor, Flexzilla air hose, and an AstroAI inflator/gauge for Christmas. This is the perfect, fast setup for airing tires. I don't have to worry about tripped circuits and it is small and light enough to put in the car to use in other places.

My kids wouldn't leave me alone this year about a gift. So I asked for one of two things I've wanted for a while but just never get off my *** and buy. To my surprise they got me both.

I go over 3 decades of commercial/ industrial electrical under my belt and those are without a doubt the best needle nose made. You're going to luv them and they will no doubt last you the rest of your life.

I have a few pairs of Kleins now, and I've been impressed with all of them. My only gripe, the newer ones flash rust very easily. Klein would do well to get some sort of coating like Channellock has to keep it at bay.

Any details on this? Seems like a neat setup.
Made a hybrid between these two. 09a7e831f5ba18ffc9a29f914fcb8652.jpgabe4fc94a049109e9af4a3335e425b34.jpg

Yeah they all were smooth except the 1/2. I put dab of 3-in-1 on it and it fixed it up.

She did buy it off Amazon and she said she paid $148 for them.

As far as jobs go, I'l kinda a jack of all trades. I do mostly wood working, but will Aldo so most of the maintenance on my Harley, pick-up...etc.

I have a nice gas powered blower, but picked this up for a fair price and can use the battery/charger in other tools.

Picked up a cheap router and table to hold me over until I have the time and motivation to build one. Not bad for $129, has dust collection ports on the router and fence and height adjustment and bit change can be done from above the table. Only complaints are the miter slot isn't a standard size and no variable speed. Also stopped by HD and grabbed the Ryobi 1/2" impact kit with 4ah battery they had for $99.
