Now committed to the Bosch 12V platform as my Milwaukee 14.4V & 18V NiCad tool batteries are dropping almost daily. Got the Amazon deal with the impact driver, drill, two batteries, charger & soft case for $100. Looked on their site and they have a significant deficit in the 12V category compared to Milwaukee. What Bosch offers overseas is another story all together! Got this a week ago.

Does anyone know if Bosch is ever going to offer a 12V ratchet?

I've had the IR series https://www.ingersollrandproducts.c...ml?tags=tools-tags/technology/cordless&page=1 since they came out a few years ago. 1/4 drive 12V and 3/8 drive 20V and they have been flawless.
I second that. I have their 20v 3/8 monster ratchet and their 1/4 12v and I use the 12v more not only for size but just all around feel. I don't like the Milwaukee/ snap on style. I've used those brands and prefer the ir. All my automotive cordless is IR, for house tools I prefer Milwaukee.

They make a 3/8" square drive impact so that's a least in the same realm. The Bosch rep I spoke with in December was clueless about most of the European offerings so wasn't too much help in identifying what was in the works. We can always hope!

The kit was a package deal so don't have a price for just the battery. Was $420 total.

Hi
"They make a 3/8" square drive impact"

I have 2, of the Bosch 3/8" & 2, of the 1/2" impacts, great tools.
185 Nm 95 Nm & 45 Nm for the 1/2"
115 Nm 50 Nm for the 3/8"
I use the 3/8" for the motorbike.
They have a great feel in the hand & save me a lot of work. lol

Nice box 601HP! What kind is it and what is the size?

And thanks to cweidert03.

Thanks! I purchased it from Greg Smith Equipment. Without the handles, it measures 56"w x 22"d x 67"h.

When it arrived and I stacked them I thought maybe I'd overbought. But now that I have the majority of tools transferred (still working on that today) it is just right. I had a lot of tools crammed in the old box.

I have a Bosch 12 volt drill driver and impact gun. Your old 14.4 and 18 volt NiCd's really were those voltages. Like other brands, Bosch 12 lithiums are really only 10.8 volts. When I got mine, they were marked 10.8 volts and still are in Europe. The companies in the US started using the peak voltage, fresh off the charger that lasts for about a nanosecond before it drops to 10.8 volts. Bosch had to go along to compete so they remarked them 12 volts. Is that enough for a ratchet? There are 3x 3.6 cells in that pack. The nano second was just for laughs; maybe several seconds. LOL!!

DeWalt hand tool set. Pretty damned nice upon first glance. Good broaching, all sockets have a light knurling, ratchets feel really good. Would make a really nice starter kit or mobile repair set.

Is that the 205 piece Dewalt Set? I got one during the Amazon Christmas sales for $90. I like the newer style ratchets. It's pretty heavy to have to lug somewhere but, a nice set.

Some HH work pants to try out,

I use side cutters the most at work, right now I am using my green Snap on cutters, but want to try some different ones,

The Knipex and Kleins feel and worked great in some tests... The Channelocks not so much... They were the cheapest ones and it shows in the quality and feel...

If you can get them, German NWS cutters are great. Best ones i ever found, they do some nice extra leverage long ones like yours, very good quality and priced slightly cheaper than Knipex.

I just googled them, looks like Lee Valley here carries them... I will go check it out!! Thank you!! I want to get some good shorter ones too...

Right now I am installing a 100 speaker paging system in a 400,000 sf warehouse, so I am using side cutters a lot!! Good place to test different ones to see which are the best... Working with 16g shielded cable, and hundreds of zip ties!!

Few months back we stripped out a warehouse to its bare bones, removing all paging wiring, network cabling, putting in new ballasts in fixtures, etc. My channellock side cutters did the job.

My arms are bleeding just looking at that. For the sake of everyone that will be working in the same area as well as your own, spend the $5 on a pair of flush cutters for those zip ties.

Just get a cable tie gun. Pulls the zip tie tight and then flush cuts. You can adjust the tension of the gun before it cuts so you don't damage the cable.
