The chrome ones are made in Dallas. I have heard mixed reviews on the Taiwan ones, I have the chrome ones and think they are great, they do have more back drag than my snap on ones do. The thing that makes me mad is that the Taiwan sets have much larger sizes available than the USA sets do. :headscrat

My chrome ones are Taiwanese. :(

57f822e8dc11a0960ed6826c67318da5.jpg yay! My SK xframe ratcheting wrenches came in. For some reason my 9mm is either not engraved enough or the chrome is too thick. Only half the logo is visible

Check the thickness of it. When I ordered a bunch of long pattern metric wrenches, the 17mm engraving was barely legible; turned out it was thinner than what its supposed to be, so the stamping process barely touched it. SK sent me a new one free of charge when I reached out to them about it.

Do you know the COO for those? I purchased a proto 1-1/4” ratcheting combo wrench for my work toolbox and it was made in Taiwan! :(

At least some of the chrome Proto ratcheting wrenches Are Taiwan. I have a set.

My chrome ones are Taiwanese. :(

OK, when I bought mine that was how it was, I guess they have since changed. The USA wrenches are an I-Beam design with an offset open end, totally different from the black ones. I have no clue what the Taiwan chrome ones are like.

New today. Gearwrench 28pc 6pt combination wrench set (have the 44pc 12pt set for more than a yr now and luv them) and a couple waxed canvas wrench rolls for them. These have been on my short list for too long now. :bounce:

Made in China
SAE: 14 wrenches 1/4"-1" no skips
Metric: 14 wrenches 6mm-9mm no skips
Same Surface-Drive-Plus (anti-slip) open end as their 12pt Long-Pattern wrenches but these are more of a standard-length, about the same as a Craftsman raised panel or WrightGrip.

The wrench rolls are just generic "Waxed Canvas Multi-purpose Roll Up Organizer Tool Bag with 14 Pockets" off Amazon for ~$15 ea. No obvious sloppy Chinese stitching mistakes that I see. Decently heavy canvas material and leather straps. Only time will tell but looks like they'll work.

A manual for the bluepoint would be nice if anyone has one. Pdf or electronic would work. I would give a few bucks.

Oden (Phoebix Contact)
Embla (Phoenix Contact Wirefox)
MCT crimping tool by Gedore.
The dies are made in Germany - not in Sweden, I guess by Gedore, someone have details? I thought only in Sweden. How thier quality compare to the original?
The Gedore logo on the MCT frame looka different from what I see on other Gedore products, it means I got old product? Is it ok?
I bought from amazon so no problem to return.

Thanks to forum members and forum member JBH who help me focus what to purchase!

Totally falling in love with Snap On's pliers. Have more on the way than what's pictured here! :bounce:

Also really wanted these seal pick things. Hoping these will come in handy for small hoses I need to remove without having to worry about puncturing with a pointy end.

Also picked up this add on item from Amazon. I think I paid $4-5 for it. 3 Pc Mayhew Pro chisel set made in USA. Really wanted it for the 1/4" chisel. Should save a few of my flat head screwdrivers from being used in ways that they shouldn't!

Completely Jealous!

I missed the fathers day sale and was going to purchase these. They look fantastic. Let us know how they work out!

I like the slash of teal rubber on the Wirefox. Not enough to get a second Embla, but it looks cool!

No idea about the German crimp die COO, but Gedore streamlined their logo recently. Maybe last year. I would not worry about that. They even have a message somewhere on their website about mixed logos. For example, here's an L-BOXX I bought from amazon.de that arrived at the end of May:

and the lid tool card that shipped pre-installed inside it:

Phoenix Contact deferentially knows how to finish a product in a superb way. (or their requirements from the OEM)

If that the case with Gedore about the logo so no worries. I will look up in their web.

I got 2 Germany dies and one Made in Sweden dies which is more robust, finish is smoother. Seems that the Sweden dies are better quality or just better finish.
The Germany dies are made by Pressmaster, in thier web you can see MCT dies that says "Made in Germany".

The "claw" grips both the blue ones with the aluminum head and the orange ones are for clamping panels together which one has a upward flange, like the roof joint at drip rails or quarter panels to trunk seal.

lckwldclmp600.jpg

The W shaped ones for when you are plug welding. I bought them to use with a resistance welder.

p13899.jpg

All of the clamps came from ebay. The blues are from Cripe. I screwed up with the aluminum headed clamps, only bought 4 should have got more they are now sold out and paid 20 bucks per. They are stout and make the vise grip brand look like something from fisher price, the cheapest I can find them now is 35.

The W ones were 18 and the ones with the swivel pad were 12.

The orange ones I came across a guy selling them for 19 bucks SHIPPED!!! I bought all 8.

More Snap On came in today. :)

Picked up a set of SO 1/4" Short Sockets. I made a thread where the GW 1/4" sockets are longer than "normal". For stuff like working inside of doors, I wanted a shorter, non pass through, socket.

ezriderga, after I graduated college and moved states, a simple toolbox like that was probably one of the best gifts I got in my life. I moved into an apartment with pretty much 2 suit cases and my laptop. A basic husky tool set that was gifted to me is what I used to assemble my cheap furniture. :)

That is where I bought mine, in 2015, looks like they were a bit cheaper then.
