I learned how great they are using a magnetic drill. Been hesitant to spend the money but finally pulled the trigger

Starting to fill a new toolbox with the Williams & the Wera. The Bondhus go in the service cart.

Still don't understand why SAE hex keys can't be sold in the same holder. Drives my OCD self nuts.

MACs new 1/2" flagship impact. Picked it up "used" for around $250 after discount. Doubt it has had more than a couple of sockets on it. Someone probably didn't like the performance considering the teeny fitting in it. I replaced it with something a little bigger.

That new MAC pneumatic impact was a good buy. I bet set up properly it will serve you well and in an automotive environment out perform any cordless you could buy. It would be a good tool to do a thread on after you use it for a while. I like MAC's new pneumatic offerings, they appear to be well thought out.

Yeah, it annoys me as well. The non-color coded SAE sets do come in the same sorta holder thing, but I really wanted the color coding. I think I'm probably just gonna 3D print an index for housing both sets in my toolbox and remove them from their respective holders anyways, but still ... c'mon Wera.

I really like the Snap-On 14.4V stuff but once you start getting into 3/8 and 1/2 drive I prefer air if the hose is right there. Much smaller footprint, lighter, more power, better ergonomics, and often quieter. The cordless high torque impacts in particular are monsters and just aren't much fun to lug around.

Skin, are you using a half inch hose?

Yes.

The Germany tool haul. More on the way but this all came in today along with a spare pair of engineer pliers

They’re the witte wittron torx set. Got to complete my Allen and screwdriver set. Don’t have the part number on hand but I can dig them up for you if you want. I’m more or less a witte fanboy so you might have better luck with the Wera or wiha sets for cheaper if you just want a quality German set

Edit: torx set pictures is 89323. Screwdriver set is 89322 or 89321

My facom 1/2" compact impact is one of the best tools i've bought, easily the best type of impact out there for 95% of the work done in a shop that isn't in the cab.

Was on the SO truck yesterday picking up something for someone else. I've looked at these the past couple of years and never pulled the trigger on them. They are really nice! They grip great and have comfortable grips. Since I got my Knipex Cobra's (Craftsman branded), I've not used my CM pliers much even though they are pretty decent. I'll use these quite a bit because a straight design will work better than the Cobra's curved design at times.

Print at least two sets of them if you're going to do it.

My SO driver showed up with a mix or match combo. Bought the indexing pry bar + 3/8" metric shallow sockets and got the can cooler and beach towel.

I think cordless impact manufacturers were so intent on power figures and being able to offer the market a product up to the task of heavy duty work they kinda forgot to focus on making a tool light and ergonomic that industry users could use all day. Only recently has the thought of cordless stubbies/compacts been their focus and the market has received them well. Most folks don't want the weight, size & clumsiness of a big powerful cordless & will settle for a reduced power mid torque or whatever. I still run air, that will not change but maybe one of the stubby cordless will enter the stable at the right price.

New Sunex model 10080 1/4 drive 80 tooth ratchet. Measures 4.75 inches long overall. has a nice swell to the handle, smooth crisp action, thin head.. If SUNEX wasn't stamped into both sides of the handle and there wasn't a large fancy S on the head, I'd think it was a MATCO ratchet. Internally it looks like a Matco/Gearwrench ratchet. Strangely, there is no part number on the ratchet itself, only on the hang tag. .:bounce:
I look forward to using it.

I left an SK 1/4 ratchet, 10 mm socket, and Ko-ken knurled spinner at a salvage yard. Doggone it. Nothing that can't be replaced. Item 1 was picked up cheaply and fixed by the ol' orange 20-ton press a couple minutes later. Mechanism is solid and just needs lube.

I'll use whatever as long as I'm not tangled in an air hose, bout to buy the rivet gun from Milwaukee for patching semi trailer roofs because the air hoses like to slide off the trailer, I dont like climbing a ladder 5 times more than I have to, one guy broke a rivet gun because the hose pulled it off the roof lol

My prime day order came in. Got this Sunex bit set 20% off. It's identical (my guess would be same oem) to the Matco bit set PN MQC34C, which is listed for $153.85. I got this set for $45 shipped! Life time warranty too. I like the chucks in this set, no need to pull the sleeve back on the chuck to insert a bit, they go right in and don't wiggle at all. For my first Sunex tool, initial impressions are great! :)

Take out a second mortgage, sell the wife n kids, feed the dog less and hang out over in the Hot Deals section. And you too can be rewarded by the man in brown on a daily basis.

Yes sir. Thanks to ebays coupons combined with a good buy it now price, I finally felt like it was worth it.

I bought one used last year for a screaming deal. I have had a chance to put it thru it's paces, and it basically made the 3/4 ratchet obsolete. Fantastic ratchet, solid. I concur I wouldn't have paid list, but this was my 1st dual 80 and it lived up to the hype, provided head isn't packed full of grease :wtf: because then it skips bad. Anyway, I think you will like it!

Impressively substantial. Only problem is...now I have to use it! :lol_hitti
Nice. Is that forcing screw in backward?

I looked and looked for a deal on a 2nd hand Snap-on ball joint press until I couldn't wait any longer and got a new OTC instead, and though it's totally handled everything I've thrown at it, I still wish I could have held out for a BJP1 instead. It's definitely one of those Snap-on tools where nobody else's comes close.

How much did that set you back?
