Isnt it just the 1/2" high torque with a 3/4" anvil?

Not sure. 1200ftlbs tightening and 1500ftlbs break away. For the size fasteners we’re dealing with (1-1/4” +), I figured I’d opt for the 3/4 due to socket sizes.

Well you'll get a torque boost simply from the better transfer. Same principle as crank bolt sockets. You just mentioned it was big so I was wondering if anything else was beefed up.

Also, my hutch for my 84” epiq came in yesterday. Totally blue balled by getting the hutch before the box! Box is still in transit. Not sure if the power locker has shipped yet.

Didn't take any pictures of a single socket but purchased my first and only mid depth socket today, 9/16. I was firmly in the it's not needed camp until we started replacing fan clutches on our freightliners. A short won't make it to the nut and a deep puts your hand against the radiator while you ratchet. The mid got the nut off and kept my blood where it belongs.

I love these. I thought I was getting took for the $21.99 (or whatever it was) that I paid for them on sale, but I was in a bind and needed them that day. They are my go-to now.

At least you didn't get "took" by the snap-on guys to the tune of about $45+ like when I bought mine about 6 or 7 years ago. They claimed to have been the first to develop that style of stripper/crimper. who knows.

Wow, yeah that makes me feel better. I’ve seen pics in this thread and others comparing the Carlyle to the Snap-On and they do look quite similar. As far as who made it first, I wouldn’t be surprised if Snap-On was the original. But as you said, who knows.

I wasn't even aware that other companies were making these. I lost my snapon a couple years back and bought a MAC for around $30 I think. They're all basically the same thing. I love em.

Awesome, shoot some pix and post please.

I intentionally had to order my box with the wrong color trim to qualify for a rebate from the most recent franchise conference. My dealer said we'll swap the trim out, free of charge of course, once everything comes in. I'll post pics once it's all together! Final combo will be arctic silver with chrome trim. 84" box, stainless power top, hutch w/ 5' light, and a left side power locker. At the show they gave me a $4k rebate, 25% off the box, and 20% off the power top, side locker, and hutch.

I paid $49 for mine, but there is one small detail that I wanted. Snap On makes two different versions of this plier and the difference is the size wire it will strip. One will strip 12-20 gauge and the other will do 14-24 gauge. I needed the 14-24, and I believe all the other "remakes" of this plier are 12-20.

My dad's friend owns a Mercedes indie shop, and I tried out some of his Stahlwille torque wrenches. By FAR, the best clicker style torque wrench I've ever used. It's got a really nice pop/click and I love how quick and easy it is to adjust.

I briefly had that bent handle Tekton ratchet. Only Tekton ratchet I ever bought. Gave it to a guy that sometimes works for me that liked it. I didn't like it only because the damn selector flips the opposite direction compared to every other ratchet I have. I was never going to get used to that, nor would I want to.

Looks like Tekton removed the 72t ratchets from their website. It still shows up on Amazon, though.

Maybe making room on their website for new 90 tooth flex ratchets!

Edit: After looking at my long HF pro flex out of the service truck, that flex Tekton looks identical except for the soft grip and the ball detent on the flex. The ball detent is the one thing the HF is sorely lacking.

No pic and it's not in my garage yet. Getting a 53"x 31" x 2" blanchard ground steel plate from work for free. We got about 2 dozen similar sizes pieces and we're doing a significant amount of cleaning up and reorganization. Will make one awesome fab table. Debating if I want to drill and tap a 3/8-10" in a 4" grid and make it a fixture table or leave the surface just ground.
