That's a great looking kit, but PLEASE ALWAYS WEAR SAFETY GLASSES OR BETTER YET, A FACE SHIELD!

MOST DEFINITELY! old habits die hard as I’m prior service and safety/PPE was always a must when doing anything maintenance related.

Did you buy those triple squares through Amazon? Make sure those are not counterfeit. There are a lot of Amazon reviewers stating that they received a generic box of triple squares, they were supposed to received ones through the Neiko brand. I ended up going the Capri Tools route.

today I got the following

- snap on 8 piece screwdriver set
- snap on XXL 2 piece screwdriver set
- snap on 4 piece screw driver set (flathead and Philips smaller ones)
- snap on 3 piece locking extension set in 1/4"
- snap on 400 lumen light
- set of triple squares
- sunex master metric impact set in 3/8"
- HF 1/2" breaker bar

I did actually it came in the Neiko box and has the neiko markings on them. As did the receipt so I think that’s the ones I got..? Who knows haha I needed it for this one use which I’m sure will be the last and it worked so all and all I still mark it up to $15 well spent

Got a nice starter Air Compressor kit with 5 different fasteners and 200 nails/staples with each one in addition to a hose all for a good $289. I think its great for starting, I am using it for a project in my backyard.

What do you guys think?

It came with:
1. 6 Gallon Compressor
2. 18-Gauge 1-5/8" Narrow Crown Stapler
3. 18-Gauge 2" Brad Nailer
4. 16-Gauge 2-1/2" Straight Finish Nailer
5. 20 Gauge 9/16" Fine Wire Staple
6. 23 Gauge 1" Pin Nailer
7. Air Hose - 1/4" x 25' PVC air hose

Not bad

I've not considered Neiko to be generic. They're pretty well known I thought for good bang-for-the-buck stuff. I've seen tools like their strut compressors where the Neiko ones are made in Taiwan with decent reviews, and the generic versions are made in China with reviews where they've failed in less than desirable ways. I assumed that was the case for the triple square sockets they were talking about.

I just purchased a set of neiko branded external torx plis sockets. I'll be posting a picture later on tonight. They look pretty decent, albeit very bulky. The 3/8" drive sockets have all the heft of a 1/2" at the drive end but taper very steeply into the thinwall of the fastener end.

Upon cleaning/organizing the garage this fall I realized I have lost/misplaced more than a few sockets of the past few years.
Yesterday Canadian Tire put their Maximum line of sockets on sale @ 66% off so I thought I'd just fill in the holes. The finish on these isn't fantastic, I was a little surprised considering this is their higher tier of tools and in the past I have always found the plating to be nice. These aren't even as nice as my 15 year old Mastercraft sockets they are replacing. Oh well, they'll do for a shade tree hack like myself.

Look a lot like GearWrench to me. I've not been all that impressed with the finish on them either. Wonder if they're also made by Apex.

a blue rail doesn't make them the same. where's the knurled bases on the Canadian sets?

Same type rails in same colors. Same type blister packaging in the same orientation. I just noticed those similarities and asked if they might both be Apex. :dunno:

As far as knurling goes Apex makes both Craftsman and Gearwrench swivel sockets and puts knurling on one and not the other, so not sure that means a hill of beans.

The maximum deeps are different lengths GW are the same length on the entire set

Right you are on that one set, or maybe two? Good catch. There are two other sets of deeps all the same length though. I don't recall any of the GW or Craftsman sets of deeps having different length sockets in the same set.

I have a few sets of the spring rails I got for 99 cents each a few years ago and they’re horrific. I ditched them because I thought they were just too wimpy for my impact sockets but I realize now they’re too wimpy for any sockets. Can’t keep my miscellaneous chrome sockets together in the drawer let alone to pick them up.

Waste of 99¢

Preaching to the choir. I got the set with 1/4 , 3/8, and 1/2 for $3 and used them for my impact swivels I figured for the price screw it ill try it but I should have only bought one set. I already ordered some nicer ones but for the time being ive had to superglue the socket holders to the rail due to the socket weight separating and breaking the two. Guess you live and learn though

Friends with an older couple, he is a LONG retired millwright. I stop by to help them out or just visit from time to time. Their only son has zero interest in tools. Last visit he showed me this box that just had the sockets and crows foot in it, all Snap-On. Six racks of Snap-On drive tool. Asked if I'd like to buy it for $200. DEAL! Told him I'd come back the next day with the money. When I did he filled it up with more tools. Most of the punches say Snap-On, the rest are vintage Craftsman. All sockets, the ratchet, screwdrivers, allen sockets are Snap-On. C clamp is an Armstrong.

Congratulations!!! With that Bahco kit you can't go wrong. I have a mix of well know brand hand tools, but my Bahco stuff is by far the best. Some 30 year old philips screw drivers are still as new. No signs of wear at all.

Picked up some extra metric wrenches for home. 24 pieces, 6-32mm Wright Wrightgrip 2.0 for $300 from Summit. Even came with a wall mounted display board, not sure if I will use it or not.

This came today, a little disappointed that the clamp is made in China and not Taiwan, otherwise very happy with Powerbuilt tools.

Got this combination last week. Needed to remove some bolts in a very thight space where a can't rotate any tool and where normal size sockets don't fit.
So I got this 2025MAX angle impact from Ingersoll Rand and short impact sockets from Ko-ken.

attachment.php

BTW the 2025MAX is much stronger than expected. Some rusted bolts on the brake claws, that I couldn't release with my no-name chinese 1/2" impact, brooke loose immediately with the 2025MAX.

I got them from a dutch online shop Air Tools Emporium:
https://www.ateshop.nl/en/ingersoll-rand-2025max-angle-impact-wrench-p-55.html
https://www.ateshop.nl/en/ko-ken-rs14401ms5-short-impact-sockets-p-294.html

Good thing you had enough space for the tool.

If next time its even tighter, consider getting a reechet.
