Which do you like more, the Snap On or Knipex? I was looking at both and trying to decide. I would get a model without a cutter since I don’t care about that and I feel the cutter makes it so the tips don’t close as well sometimes since they need to make sure the cutter touches first every time.

thats a tough call. it depends on what you are doing. If you are doing mechanics type work and need something that provides a stout grip and and handle heavy twisting, then the Snap on Talon grips are hard to beat... I have had a pair of these in my box and like them a lot , and this pair was for my mobile tool bag on my service truck.

The knipex close tighly, which is abnormal for most pliers needle nose with cutters. I actually bought a 45* bent nose pair of knipex and loved them, so I found the matching pair of straight ones on eBay for a decent price. they are more precision. I don't think they will handle the abuse a lot of HD mechanic guys will put them through. but, they are also much skinner profile. and a longer reach, given the overall is about the same length, if that makes any sense. These are stork nose I believe, which are more slender/less girth than a typical needle nose.

I had a return at Menards and lost my receipt so i had 27-28 bucks that needed spent on a gift card and decided to try out the orbis. The orbis have much thicker noses and seem very stout. I love the offset design. If they made a straight pair of these, i think they would be very robust.

I've got some Craftsman branded ones of that style that you're welcome to for the cost of shipping. I know I have an ASE set and I believe a Metric set as well. They are Craftsman USA but I don't use them so I don't see a personal value in them.

Decided to get these Snap On Hose Pinch off pliers, didn’t really like the Lang versions I had and how they didn’t truly lock.

Thank you for the reply. That’s actually what I was thinking based on their profiles.

Anyone else questioning the sure shot with mouthwash in it?
I'm still waiting for one of my buddies to take a shot of brake cleaner down the gullet. You have to have fun in the shop. Last night my buddy drove off after a brake job with Rock Auto magnets all over the back of his car.

Capri 11850-7MRK Super Thin Metric Open Ended Wrench Set

Bought this for a bunch of applications. Two off the top of my head are caliper slides (sometimes the sleeve spins and I can't get a regular wrench in there) and die grinder collets.

Those look great !
I bought long time ago cheap GRIP ultra thin wrenches, really useful for some locknuts and bicycles :)

Knipex 5" Pliers wrench for my pouch at work.

Tsunoda ER125 needle nose. Excellent pliers, still not as slender as I'm trying to find. Does anyone make extremely thin, needle nose pliers with teeth anymore?

Got the 6" version in today. I feel like the 5" is too small to hold and grip comfortably. I'll take a comparison shot of the two when I get to work tonight.

Also got the Tsonoda TTC SNP pliers. These are the type of nose I've been hunting for. I'll return the others.

I recently picked up a rubber decal removing wheel to help remove the old VHB tape on my lip spoiler.

I also grabbed a Foxwell NT301 for specifically checking OBD readiness for CA smog check. After replacing the battery in my M3, the car required a super specific drive cycle to make all modules "ready". Frustrating, but this was a cheap way to check without having to go to a smog check station.

I seem to have also acquired an unhealthy addiction to Orbis pliers...here are a few recent ones I scored. Anytime I see them cheap on Amazon, I end up ordering them.

Just got home with a neat box containing 4 pcs of stud nut extractors. One roll was loose when I opened the box though. Not sure whether to release the retaining ring holding the piece (8 mm) and see if it's easy to refit, or just apply for an RMA. The store is just a few kilometres away from me so.3fa3d1ffc3485f0faf10360142c37545.jpg

My first Trusty-Cook steel faced hammers. I have used the 50 oz and the 43 oz stubby so far and really like them. I can see why people recommend the 43 oz stubby.

Prepare to be disappointed. I did the same thing and had the end shear off the Proto the first time I used it. This was on a suspension bolt on a newer Toyota Tundra that wasn't rusty.

Needed after reading garage journal and fearing for my life every time I use my Harbor Freight breaker bar. A 1/2 proto 24 inch breaker bar upgrade.

When I opened the box I was a bit disappointed. For some reason I was expecting some more girth. I guess I would be proud of myself if I can break it without a cheater bar on it. Odd job isn’t a big burley man unfortunately.

Picked up the HF Windsor wood cabinet today for use in my office. Used a 20% coupon to bring the price down to $63.99. No its no Gerstner, but for what I need it for this HF box will do fine.

Also picked up some smalls: 1 set each of picks, tweezers, chip brushes and a box of assorted electrical terminal/connectors.

It to my house. ?? Do you think they are worth the 70 ish bucks? Quality and what not?
Thanks.

They are decent quality would be best if you had a store to get them at. To save the shipping of course. Cheapest storage cabinets that i could find for blow molded cases to save room in tool box. These are gonna be painted to match my roller cabinets. Even at 70 ish bucks i would have done it.

I just picked up a pack (2 pcs) of measuring tape. Some times I prefer the soft ones instead of using a folding rule or the metal type spinner. Since it was cheap a f*ck (<1 $) I'll need to inspect its accuracy thoroughly before use.76b42a94b7ed1b219d094b32452d9e17.jpg

Bought some stuff recently. Didn't have any trim tools at the house, do bought another astro set.

Added a new light.

Bought this hub grappler a while ago but haven't used it yet. Deal was too good to pass up.

Haven't been to Harbor Freight for a while. Today I saw a new HF store nearby when driving the kids to a birthday party, I had to find excuses to go there.

3 observations:
(1) The Icon break bar is $50, right next to $20 Pittsburg Pro, looks pretty much the same. Wondering who would spend $50 for an Icon break bar.

(2) Almost all the wrenches are made in India now, noticeably lower quality than made in China.

(3) Harbor Freight has quite a selection of screwdrivers, many are very good quality. Two ratcheting screwdrivers have very nice ratcheting action and slim ratcheting mechanism, makes me wonder if I over spent for Snap Ons and PB Swiss.

Here is my mini haul: all for $4. Those scrapers will be used as pry bars and chisels, wonderful for saving my screw drivers.
