I decided to “retire” my old craftsman USA sockets for a complete set of Tekton 1/2, 3/8 & 1/4 sockets. Used the Ernst socket boss rails to organize them all. The 3/8 12 point set should arrive tomorrow. For the money the Tekton set is excellent. On par if not better than my old Craftsman USA stuff from the 1990s. The chrome job on them is superb.

These look great, nice job!

I have thought of doing the exact same thing for my craftsman USA sockets. Glad to hear your positive impressions. How do you like the Ernst rails? Do they have a magnet to hold them in place in the drawer?

I think ill start changing them over one set at a time.

Picked this 18” Proto prybar on amazon warehouse for 13 bucks
And just because I needed a 1/4” deep metric socket set I thought it was a good excuse to try out these Icon sockets. Plus I got a free HF bucket.

I had to trim like 1/10 off the rear of the Ernst tray for it to fit. I’m really happy how it came out. There is also maybe 1/10th of an inch gap where the metric and sae trays meet in the center, they literally just fit. Very happy how it came out. The 12pt 3/8 set came in today so it’s complete now.

I love the rails. Tekton sells the same thing (they are made by Ernst) but they cost a bit more so I decided on the Ernst. No magnets. They fit snug, I had to trim maybe 1/10th of the back of the socket tray for them to fit.

I have been reading the Woodworking 101 thread and inspired by Bob Hein's work so I got these:

16" Omnijig pre 2007
20200201_185924.jpg

Porter Cable 690LR from 2010 that the claim is never used
20200201_190000.jpg

So far $75 each I am just a template guide away

I asked about the Omnijig on GJ so I am blaming the board :lol_hitti

SATA (division of Apex Tools) 1/4" ratchet. 72 tooth and very identical to Gearwrench. $10. The 3/8" and 1/2" version are a little more dough, but not by much.

attachment.php

I just picked up the 3/8 version of that ratchet on Amazon for $12 delivered to my door. It’s almost an exact clone of the Husky 72t sold for $20. I own both now and compared them side by side. Different design on the handle, but it’s the same length, thickness and ratcheting mechanism. I personally feel the Husky is a steal at $20, and the SATA for $12 is just a stupid good buy! I can’t imagine this price sticks around very long.

The kit including all three sizes (1/4, 3/8, 1/2) is $36!

Brand new for $60. Picked these up locally. Snap-on’s electronic plier/flush cutter set PLP300.

I saw a thread with people bashing the quality on these and they couldn’t be more wrong. I almost didn’t buy them because of the erroneous piss poor recommendations.

Made a few tool purchases this weekend.

I have been doing alot of 2 stroke equipment repairs lately, so decided I needed a cart to hold my tools I have been using. Plus it was the right color and on sale.

Since that box has way more room than needed for 2 stroke engine repairs that I do, I actually made it my main cart and traded my old cart to be used as my 2 stroke tool cart.

Not certain of dealer cost. I saw this one on Facebook Marketplace.
