See if your Snap on guy can get another one for your Dad. Surprise him with it. From what I’ve read, your parents support you a bunch. Would be a great gift showing how much you appreciate their support.
How much you wanna bet that won’t be the last teal ratchet in your shop?
That’s a great idea. Yes they do support me a lot. They love that I’m in a trade. Hopefully I can get one that color in each drive too. I got this one way cheaper than it goes for on the website. I hope they make screwdrivers in this color too lol.

That color is nice and hard handles are the way to go, my guy shows up but hasn't had anything new to entice me.
I have been thinking of an overhead locker, might see what he'll do.

Finally broke down and got the 3/4” fuel. Also had to get a 45mm socket for a job. Biggest I had was 42mm and my wrenches are 44 and 46mm so I had no 45.

I haven't had a problem with grips getting bad and I was worried about that at first I wipe em down whenever fluid gets on them and never had an issue, I did have a buddy that had a few that were ratty and sticky and peeling and he said it's from oil and such sitting on it. Did you see the limited edition 57 Chevy boxes they released a few years ago? Was teal

Im glad Swanson finally made one of these mini squares!
Affordable ($10) and domestic.
The offset dual reference base (not highlighted below) is a neat revision.
Bought one from Slowes. (misspelling intentional)
Part no. S0145

I was also pleasantly surprised to see an end cap there with a selection of individual Wiha Terminator bits, sets, folding L keys, and mini screwdrivers. :wtf:

I had a Stanley ratchet that had a broken pawl. Called them for warranty and the model I had was discontinued. They offered me a Craftsman and I said I really didn’t want one of those. They then offered me a Proto and something else. As soon as I heard Proto, I said I’d love to have that.

Called on Tuesday, just delivered today. Easily a top notch warranty experience. Told me to take the broken one to a recycler.
Proto Professional 5249. This thing is smooth as warm butter.

Got this Matco 30 inch 1/2 ratchet today at the pawn shop for $50. I feel it was a good deal. Paid $65 for everything I got about 40 sockets and some screwdrivers and wrenches with it so overall I’m happy. This is a $310 ratchet from Matco.
That's definitely a YOU ****!!!! for the ratchet, well done. The pawn shop was asleep at the wheel on that one. :wtf:

They always give me good deals. I’ve been a regular there since I was old enough to use tools. But I agree it’s a heck of a deal. I didn’t see it till last minute when I was getting ready to leave. It had no price on it so I asked they said $50 I said sold.

9/16 spark plug socket. Didn’t see any real reason to buy an expensive one. I mainly need it to complete my spark plug socket set along with a 14mm which I couldn’t find. I seen this one on the shelf at Advance Auto so I figured what the heck. I needed it at work last week for plugs on a Ford and had to borrow from the Ford tech. Even though I’m Subaru I do a lot of trade ins too which is how I needed it. Made in Taiwan and I’ve actually had good luck with the TEQ stuff from what I understand is it’s rebranded Gearwrench.

That is correct Blake, my advance store has warrantied out some of my gear wrench stuff with it and my commercial rep swears that if I was somewhere without an advance that gearwrench will honor it as well. I've had no issues with any of it

Got this Williams ratcheting wrench set. Was a touch bummed that they didn't offer them in their domestic line, but the detents feel crisp and smooth just playing with them in my hands.

Now that's as super deal!

Btw, I've been using Plumb/Plomb/Proto since the early '70s. Dad had 3/8 drive Plumb socket/ratchet set that he bought used in the late 40s (IIRC). That set got me through my first engine rebuild (with a lot of his help) back in '74 or so (Pontiac 389). Did have to use a 'cheater' bar/pipe on the crank main caps tho. That said, don't think I've ever broken any P/P/Proto tool of any kind to this day (including several years as a early '80s Yam motorcycle dealership mech and 15 or so years after that as an auto mech. Same for Snap On. And very few (back in the day) Craftsman for that matter.

They do (or did, maybe) sell some USA made ratcheting wrenches, and they're still out there at certain vendors. You can get the set part numbers from this image -

Well I sold my 5HP 80 Gallon air compressor yesterday for $1,500. It was nice to have but I really don’t require a large compressor anymore. So I ordered a Rolair Airstak that should be delivered Wednesday and decided I also wanted an airless sprayer. I was already set on buying a Graco ProX17 from the local Sherwin Williams but last night on FB Marketplace I came across this! So I met the seller this morning and for $375 NIB I got the airless I wanted and saved some money. Going to go pick up a new Bostitch 23 gauge pin nailer and 18 gauge narrow crown stapler to round out my pneumatic nailer set up. Been a good week so far.

Have been wanting a 18 gauge narrow crown stapler and 23 gauge pin nailer for quite some time. Figured I would buy them now that have been selling some of my other tools. Only disappointment was the lack of staples/pins available at the big box store ion the shelf. I bought what they had available but I will have to order the remaining offline because I could not find them locally. Grand total - $497 (mostly in the fasteners). 62B32134-F616-40EA-8231-7744A9D582A0.jpeg

Not new, but new to me...

Grandpa passed away many years ago, but I just got around to seeing what tools were left behind.

I've heard of Cee-Tee before, but haven't seen any until now. I haven't come across any Vise-grips without the release handle before. The adjustable wrenches look pretty standard - The monkey wrench just says "AUTO" on it.

Champion Blower and Forge Co tap and die set.

Very well used set... Are the toothless dies just guides? One of them and the die fits into the wrench at the same time.

Thanks for that. The website doesn't show WS-1180RS as an active part number but I can double check tomorrow.
