This pickup tool has a magnet and 4 grabber claws. 7 dollars from Walmart, mfg in Taiwan . Nice to have another pickup tool in the arsena, can never have too many of these items. Works great on transmission bell housing bolts, magnet helps you grab the etorx bolt or loose socket with the claws.

I've had the ones from HF for as long as I can remember but they are 2 seperate tools, one with the claw grabber & the other magnet. I'm down to my last pair so I've been meaning to get more. Never knew they make them now with the claw & magnet in one unit.

Unfortunately none of the Walmarts around me has it in stock & through your link order for pick up is not available. Found one on Amazon for $5.59 so I just ordered it. Says it has an LED but I don't think it does & I actually hope it doesn't. The ones with LED looks different & they cost more.

Thanks

I like the General models, 4 claws and an LED, 24" and 36" models available. It always seems to be dark down where the lost/dropped thing is, so the LED really helps. They run about $10-$11 at Amazon.

Witte electronic screwdriver set from Amazon.de, 28eur with some coupons :geek:

Longest than anything I've seen from Wera Facom etc, made in Germany of course. Biggest difference is that the handle rotating part is not the top but from the blue line upwards so it's quite sturdy. This is the same as Hazet 805/7 set, Witte makes screwdrivers for many German top tool companies, I think most Stahlwille screwdrivers are made by Witte.

Probably because they OEM for the big names, they are difficult to find.

Sunex puts out pretty good tools imo (other reviews seem to support this opinion). I have a couple of Sunex 3/8" crow's foot flare nut wrenches that got me through some very tough/tight 1960s Buick brake line fittings.

Recent acquisitions! The router table, planer, c-clamps, and screw driver lot came from a local estate sale. The Stanley adjustable t-bevel came from an antique store and impact driver from eBay

For what it's worth, those impact drivers from Jawco are not bad, but the eBay sellers and the packaging are rather disingenuous (and of questionable legality) when they mark it "Made in USA". Only the driver is made in USA, the bits and hex adapter are imported, per Jawco's own website.

Not new, but new to me...

Grandpa passed away many years ago, but I just got around to seeing what tools were left behind.

I've heard of Cee-Tee before, but haven't seen any until now. I haven't come across any Vise-grips without the release handle before. The adjustable wrenches look pretty standard - The monkey wrench just says "AUTO" on it.
Indeed vintage Cee Tee... Jamestown. Crescent Tool. Now I'm curious why they used that branding... :)

The only 1/2" drive metric sockets I have are impacts. Figured I should start getting some regular chrome sockets to fill my stupid socket organizer. These are Blackhawk Proto USA, a couple of skips but I couldn't pass up the price on them for 50 bucks on eBay brand new. I had ordered a Stanley set the day prior for 15, but the seller on eBay for these made me an offer I couldn't refuse. The Stanley's will fill the gaps in the meantime.

UPS delivered my new air compressor! Super excited to finally get a Rolair AIRSTAK to compliment my Bostitch and Festool gear. The little compressor comes up to pressure pretty quick and will certainly fit my needs as a brad/pin/narrow crown stapler air supply.

How loud is a small unit like that?

Well that’s a good question. The outside of the container has 95 dB LWA posted on it and the manual has 70 dBA posted on it. In my small basement shop it’s quiet enough to have a conversation. And full pump up time (0-125 psi) is only 32 seconds with a recovery time (95-125 psi) of 9 seconds. So it really doesn’t run long either. Time will tell how well it does but I’m only using it for pneumatic nailers.

That sounds bearable, might need to look into something like this when I am doing work in the house. I have a smaller kobalt compressor that takes a little bit to fill up but it isn't awfully loud.

There are much less expensive options available that fit in a similar format. I specifically bought this one due to the Systainer format. At $475 for the Rolair it isn’t a bargain by any means.

Yeah for 475 I can probably plumb an airline into the house from the wife's garage and not worry about noise at all haha.
I did that also from my garage into my basement from my 5HP 80 Gallon Champion. I bought this because I recently sold my large compressor and wanted a small portable unit. The other compressor was way over-kill for my needs and took up too much space in my garage.

That looks great! I can see where it would be overkill for some set ups. I have an 80 gallon in my big shop, 20 gallon in the small shop and the Kobalt in the garage.

Warranty replacement Craftsman tools. The chrome is peeling on both sockets so I asked if they would send new ones since I’ve almost been cut by them. They said yes that is a defect in workmanship so absolutely they would send new ones. The pliers are a little beat up on the ends and appears to have smashed in a little bit so I asked for those to be replaced as well which they honored. I also inquired about my ratchet that they never sent. The nice lady replied back and told me they are actually discontinuing the raised panel ratchets so they are warranting them with the low profile 72 tooth or the Gunmetal your choice. I chose the Gunmetal and it should be here in a few days. I am actually happy to receive a better ratchet the China raised panels or raised panels period were never really good. They probably also wanted to send me a better one since I asked for it over a month ago and they sent the other tools but never that one. So I’m happy they made it right.

New tools. Picked up the sockets since I need them to complete my set. Still looking for a few but got these for right now. Duralast actually has some nice tools they were even better when made in Taiwan. And the Crimson torx bit I bought just because I wanted too I need it as a filler for my set too. And I found the 12 inch extension pretty cool because most of the time you don’t see 12 inch in 3/8 it’s usually 10 inch or like 15 or 18. Haven’t figured out who makes the Crimson stuff looks like it could be Gearwrench or Apex or someone.
