I quite like my Makita 5200, louder than the 2400 but much more power. I can feel it hits a lot harder. At some point I might look at noise mitigation tactics but it's not enough of a problem so far. The 2400 lasted 10 yrs of some time abusive use, I expect to get that out of the 5200 too

You will love that Snap-on cotter pin tool. I have a couple of older ones with the old style handles and use the hell out of them, but seldom on actual cotter pins. :bounce:

Have used them on a parking brake replacement job, and they came in handy pulling on springs. I buy duplicates of tools I really like...this one might be one of them!

So after a day of browsing the yard sales and almost coming home empty handed, I stumbled on this for $40. Didn’t have a need for it but I’m sure I’ll find some use for it..👍🏽
I have the EXACT same one I saved the from the scrap bin at work, yours looks in real good shape

Warranties a long broken ratchet that I couldn’t find a rebuild kit for, I’d rather have an American unit but I’ll give it a try, home use so it won’t get a hard life,

Where'd you end up swapping it out at?

A functional tool is better then a broke tool. :dunno:

Needed a new torque wrench and figured I'd try one of these newer C3 Wera's Only drawback is you need to convert to Newton meters if you want to dial in an accurate or specific setting, the lbs scale is only ballparking it. I like it so far, its comfortable to grip and the scale is very easy to read and set. It has a positive nice click feel to it.

Not sure who actually makes these ones....supposedly made in Taiwan, Think the older Wera's were made by Norbar.

Yeah I was actually surprised the shape it was in given what else is for sale around the area. A buddy of mine has a 2 ton arbor also and says he prefers to press small bearings with one of these vs. using his 20 Ton press.

I keep this one around for the same exact reason. Sometimes you need to “feel” the work as you’re pressing something into place. You get that from an arbor pres, but you don’t from a 20 ton hydraulic press.

Very nice, you are correct in that the older ones were made by NORBAR, as I have 2 of them. Enjoy

I will just start by saying I hate remodeling houses. I just cannot get motivated to do it.

Anyway, when our kitchen got flooded we were forced to remodel. I have been slowly working on it while fighting the insurance company. Well our new cabinets are in and now it's time for crown moulding. What better way to motivate myself then to buy a new tool or two?

Saw this on sale at Lowes the other day and decided I needed it. Along with a foldup stand.

Dewalt 12" Double Bevel Comound Miter saw with Rigid stand.

I havnt seen any of the longs, I wanted the power blue pry bars, but they weren’t available to order so I ended up ordering black ones haha, I’ll still be looking for the blue ones though
Same I want the pry bars too. I want the torque wrench as well but nothing seems to be available on the website in this color anymore. I need some stubby screwdrivers too wish they made them in this color. My dealer wasn’t able to find part numbers for anything either so I’m wondering if they are having a hard time making this color?

I have the same OTC tension gage but don't use it much these days with serpentine belt systems. Back in the day however, it was a heavily used tool. I didn't realize they still made them.
Yes they still make them. I don´t know if OTC is the maker since the cast part says "Borroughs T&E USA".

Gone a bit mad this month buying tools ... this months tools to date ...image.jpeg

image.jpegimage.jpeg

Highlight for me is Gedore pry bar ... the octagonal shaft is about 13mm thick. Business end is typically unfinished as is the German thing, which I have grown to like. Doubt it will ever break.

I love those CK “Classic” screwdrivers, and the striking cap versions with square shanks are the toughest of the range.

Although made in Germany, these seem to be made primarily for the British market.

Warning on these:

Were does not sell repair kits for these. You have to buy the whole head and they weren't even available in the US until I asked wera.de for one (kctool can now order them).

I bought an A6(?) - the 1/4" bike kit with the hex bit anvil. Decided I'd rather have a 1/4 socket anvil. Unavailable unless you buy the whole head for ~$90!

Went to the Despot and used some Gift cards that were set to expire.
Got a 106 piece Gearwrench 1/4" & 3/8" socket set with deep and shallow sockets with squishy-handled ratchets, A Ryobi reciprocating saw, and 1/4" impact driver (bare tools because I already have a bunch of batteries and chargers). Still have about $20 bucks out of 200. Impact was a clearance item.
(Boo squishy handles!)

Snap-on Tuesday today. My favorite day of the week besides Friday lol. The pry bars were on sale for $210 regular $233. He only had orange left he had two sets and since I find myself needing pry bars a lot I wanted these. Wish the still had the old style handle on them but heck at least it’s not a soft handle. And then got the shorter blow gun this week he didn’t have any last week. And picked up a set of duck bill pliers in green. He had red too but I didn’t have any green pliers yet. And I can actually use them either for wire twisting or they work good for those annoying pinch hose clamps too. My coworker who only buys green tools was jealous cause he only ever has red in stock or orange occasionally lol.

Bought these Hyper Tough (Wilde) pry bars on Walmart.com, like half the price of what they are in store. All three for $31 and some change... Only gripe is one is red handled, lol.

25"
17"

Had no immediete use for them, other than they where cheap... Ended up using them today to pry/remove some wet foam out from underneath a boat center console.IMG_1689.JPG

How do you like that bottom box/how has it been holding up? I've been eyeing it but haven't pulled the trigger. I've got 2 craftsman combo sets and a powerkraft roller/kennedy top box that are just getting too full and hard to organize.
I like it. Very nice quality for the money in my opinion. Everyone in the shop wished they had one instead of their fancy boxes. My only complaint is not enough variety of drawers but with the add ons I’ve been able to work around that. Wish I had gotten a bigger one haha.

If you can hold out long enough, or shop around a bit, you might find the shorter bar in black.

Red was the initial color for these, but they’ve been transitioning them to black over time.
