Brake piston compressor from Lisle. This one is for single piston ones but they also have ones for double piston as well. And a Mueller-Kueps brake caliper file. Seen everyone else getting one and decided I’d follow trend lol.
Those brake caliper compressor tools are clutch! You will wonder how you did brake jobs without them

It was a dark and rainy night. There was a knocking at the front door. The dog barked and launched off the couch. There stood the UPS delivery guy. He said, "I think this empty box is for this address." I don't know what was in it, but what ever it was has gone missing." I looked at the address label, the address was not ours.

Needed another small portable inflator so i figured i give the dewalt a try, seems well made. Have to see how the calibration is, i have a couple of ryobi ones and they’re within 5 psi, hope this one’sa little better. It also comes with a 12 volt cord so that’s a plus.

Also picked up a ryobi stud detector to leave in my box at my sons house. We’ll see if it’s worth 29$? So far trying it in a wall i can see the studs it seems to work.
I’ve owned 4 different cordless/portable inflators, and this is the only one I still have. Best one I’ve used by far.

I have the same Snap-on locking pliers and am quite impressed with them. I am not a fan of locking pliers (Vise Grips) based on principal and theory alone as I feel the correct tool should be used rather than a generic locking plier. However, in those cases where a locking plier is necessary I have been very impressed with these.
Mike, I agree. I will mainly use vise grips on a bolt or nut on the other side of a firewall or bulkhead when I'm working alone.

It is my understanding, that snap-on bought the DeWitt, NE vise grip plant. I'm sure someone will argue with me about it, though.

So these are basically the original vise grip with a few improvements.

No. Malco bought the plant and is private labeling those pliers for Snap-on.

Been out of town most of this year, so haven't had much time for tool shopping. Did manage to blow some per diem money though!

This was allegedly the "perfect" size hose pick - I have to agree that the size is in the goldilocks zone. A little disheartened to see Made In Taiwan rather than USA. Still good value I think at $22.

i-vNHPpvF-L.jpg

Picked up the new SO brushless impact. I'm not interested in looking for high torque figures with the 14.4 battery system; I'm really a huge fan of the form factor of the tool. The CT761 was great, and this version addressed the only thing I didn't like about it. The soft rubber overmolding around the motor was always the first to fall apart on the tool. I think getting rid of it completely was a good move as far as the tools longevity. (Noone wants a tool that looks like its falling apart, right?)

My fetish for these SO magnetic mats knows no end. Trying out the mini and micro to see where they might come in handy for organization.

i-FJGQ94G-L.jpg

More snap on slotted racks for the slots-n-dots system. I had to order three more because SO recently changed their finish on accesories and my OCD would not let me have mismatched rails next to each other. These are more of a smooth stain paint finish, as opposed to the dark grey bedliner finish. I have 3 extras of these racks in the bed liner finish if anyone is interested...took months to get these.

I was shopping for a new pen light and @Torque Test Channel did a great review on pen lights. I prefer a consistent "beam" and always disliked how streamlights have a bright center and dim edge. Bonus points for usb c charging too and the removable bite cap was a thoughtful add on.

i-XP28hzd-L.jpg

Also picked up some things from DRPD. Got the Nepro 1/4" gold ratchet with the presidents day promo code. Now my 3/8 won't feel like the gold sheep in the ratchet drawer.

i-SNTB7Pt-L.jpg

Wobble hex bits. Thought these were unique and I haven't seen anyone else offer them. Naturally, I ordered every single one they offered, which are a T8-T40 torx and P1-P3 phillips. A pretty good amount of wobble in them, and less likely to strip a screw than a ball torx.

Small "dentist" mirror.

Picked up a nepros t30 bit socket to get a feel for the quality. I knew it would be great, but this is seriously awesome. The Titanium nitride finish on the bit is stunning. Here it is next to a snap on, which I believe is just a yellow zinc finish.

This is a strange purchase for me, an SK Tuff 1 ratchet. These were offered when SK was owned by Facom and seem to have a pretty beefy pawl design. Was working with a friend who has had his for a while; it was butter smooth once worn in and I know that particular ratchet has had a 4ft cheater pipe slide over it regularly. Saw this 1/2" version for $30 on Amazon and got it since I don't have any short 1/2" drive handle ratchets...the handle on this is perfect for cheater pipe abuse. It's NOS and the factory grease looked like earwax. Cleaned it up and threw in some fresh grease.

Who makes the wobble bits?
You'll like that new impact, it's got a little more grunt and the lighting is far superior.

Well it finally arrived!

THE RINGER…..for my 40 lb propane tank.

After checking it out and all it appears to be very durable and well made. Though only time will really tell for sure on that.

Whatever exact material is used to make it/mold it, I can’t say for sure but hopefully it will last.

Here are a few pictures of it.

Also I had previously purchased these brass screw on caps made exclusively for propane tanks to help prevent any possible or accidental gas leakage for my stand by propane 20 lb. tanks.

You won't use the one you bought the other day now. I use that one for doubles as well, push one piston in and then push the other in slowly and it won't push the first out. I've had mine about 7 years and never had an issue. I need to get one of those files is it pretty coarse?

I know they bought an Irwin plant and was going to be making taps and dies and such out of it, could this be it?

The only thing I know is that malco makes the Eagle grips. No idea if snap-on bought a plant to make taps.

Snap-on Tuesday. He didn’t stop by my part but I drove the golf cart over there because I was excited my ratchet finally came in after 5 months of waiting on it. It’s a pearl blue extra long 3/8. Then had to get my monthly or weekly I should say pocket screwdriver fix. Still trying to get some orange and green ones out of him lol 😂. Then got a spark plug/ramp gauge. 4oz ball peen. Very handy when needed. I personally like it for forming gaskets when you need to remove the extra material hitting around the edges with it to remove it. Subaru brake caliper bolt tool for the ones in hard to get to places on the rear. And an impact swivel set. They were on sale this month.

If anyone has any of those green or orange pocket screwdrivers and looking to part with them let me know I need some for the collection lol.

That Subi brake caliper bolt socket is quite handy, especially the rusted in fronts. I almost always have a set of replacement bolts on hand for those at all times.

The only thing that’s been published has been locking pliers,
My guy told me that when I was trying to get a tap and die and a drill bit. Irwin stopped making them for them from getting upset about something so they just bought a building and tooling and trying to get it all set up

I've found that socket handy on other caliper brackets as well. It's supposed to be for like 06 outback front calipers but I use it alot

Yeah it is fairly coarse on both sides. And good tip on the double piston calipers thanks.

I do the opposite, I use the dual for single pistons.

Dang, I would have moved some of these green ones. Could have put it in with your other tools had I known. I bought a 20 pc grab bag off eBay

I clearly understand you there, you're nuts, and obviously one of us.

If that clearly caught your eye, you see us grown men playing with paper dolls and putting dresses on our tools. I catch myself all the time doing just this and will continue to do so. "What matches HiViz and the cart? That purple is nice! Oh, short run? Pink is always around at least once a year for boobies, that's pretty Hi-Viz too. How about green? Everyone is wearing green or orange. Will Snap-on or Matco ever make..." Then I wake up on the ground as the truck rolls off after he pushes me out ...

$44 and change at Harbor Freight
Giving these to a buddy of mine who's coming over to R&R the water pump on my Ranger. (we may get around to dealing with some other issues as well.)
Apparently the Knipex equivalent is about $66 - $70 (?)
Will post a report after he beats the **** out of them.
