Three times in 18 months we needed to change tires and had to do it using a combi tool as a jack and manually taking the lug nuts off and back on. Once on the shoulder of I-10 at night, so speed would have made it much safer. And any tool on the truck can also be used in the station. As far as other uses on scene, you never know what you might need.
Not to mention machinery and equipment extrication. Whether it be farm machinery on the rural setting or in a person caught in a piece of machinery in a factory setting. Sometimes, you have to think quickly outside the box. Any tool that helps you do that job faster (
and safer)is worth it's weight in gold.

Some new sockets from Lowes. Needed the 16 to fill in one of my trays at home. The 11mm 1/2 impact will fill in my rail in my cart at work. Probably won’t get used but good to have I actually have needed a 1/2 drive 7/16 deep impact once working on a Kenworth once so I figured this will work if needed and I have that 7/16 in impact too. The 16mm will be good for my Ford stuff.

Interesting. I don’t think I’ve ever needed a 16mm. Where are they used on the Fords?

A lot of the mid-late 90s ones used the 16mm for drain plugs. Also the nut to adjust the power steering box too. Actually one of the engines in the modern Escapes uses a 16mm plug too because I ran into one the other day first oil change and a 16mm plug. My 1994 Ford Econoline uses a 16mm plug. You could use a 5/8 too I tend to flop back and forth from which one I use lol. Also used on GM stuff occasionally too but not as much as Ford.

The first gens aw11 are getting very hard to find. Gen 2’s sw20 are still a good bit but it’s usually NA cars that are clean otherwise a well sorted turbo model can fetch 15-20k and well beyond for 94-95 models
My dad had a red 88 4age NA 5 speed when I was younger, he got it all cleaned back up and looking factory, found the correct wheels someone had taken off and he blasted and painted them, it had low mileage on it. I always loved that car, as I got older and got my license and got into cars I always bugged him about letting me buy it if he ever sold it, he offered to give me every car he's ever gotten rid of.......except that one, in fact 18 year later he gave me my grandma's old golf yesterday, I'll always dream of having that car. A local shop to me driver motorsports gets some shipped in every once in a while but it's always 2nd gen. I worked with a Toyota tech a few years ago that got a deal on a 87 supercharged that had the motor out and had to rebuild it was cool to see my childhood dream car in that part of my career

Saw this in HD this morning, figured I’d give it a try, says 220 ft lbs, seems pretty good for a rt angle ratchet. It has some weight to the the head, really dwarfs the impact driver. Can’t wait to try it!

Made a little road trip with the wife this morning to pick up this Cman belt sander. It looks worse than it is. What looks like rust is a dried glue adhesive.

After a couple of minutes with a razor blade and and wiping it with lacquer thinner.KIMG1729.JPG

Granted, it does have a little bit of rust but it should all clean up with some TLC.

I want to say ford uses 16mm, i have a few and i think i remember using them on a couple cat excavators. I’m looking at some wear on one wrench and socket so the size does get used, maybe not alot.

Keep your receipt. This is one of the Milwaukee tools I regret buying and never use.

I tend to agree. Mine gathers dust. It might just be me getting old but, I don't like its balance. If I remember correctly, the torque test channel found that it made less than the 220 advertised. :dunno: I think i would be better off with an extended reach cordless ratchet but, that's just me.

I'm amazed by the number of single sizes for sockets and wrenches that you buy! :D

Some new things from Harbor Freight. 8 inch Doyle Channellock style pliers. I haven’t seen the 8 inch ones before in Channellock brand and this was the last pair of these so I figured I’d pick them up as you use these type of pliers a lot. Two more boxes of nitrile gloves. Unfortunately missed the sale on the 7mil ones they had I think last week. Got a ball joint separator I haven’t used this style before so this will be nice to try out. Metric and Standard o-rings in my opinion there isn’t a better value than these and they are good quality too. Another little .69 box cutter knife. Two magnetic trays that were $1.99 each. Got some of the last ones that say Pittsburgh on them as they have gotten so cheap now they don’t even put the name on them 🙁. A black cup holder. No orange has been released yet so I figured since I’ve always got a drink this will be perfect and it will go with the cart just fine as the cart has black trim. And a Braun rechargeable light these things are really bright. We had them in school but it seems they were battery powered back then and not rechargeable but I could be wrong. Either way nice lights that take a lot of abuse.

I hope that's true.

I've got 4 of the "regular" 6 inch ones & 2 of their mini 4 inch ones from 15-20 yrs ago back when they never stamped them & I prefer em that way. Even my most used rectangle one that I got from Matco back then is also unbranded. The only 2 that I have that are branded are 2 Sears Craftsman ones, one was a gift & I pretty much never use them just cause I have more than I need.

Anyways, I check my local HFs every so often for a while now to see if I get lucky to find sterile ones, I want 2 more of the minis. They are always stamped Pittsburgh or US General around here. I hope they really are not stamping them again.
