FFS.... a while back I lost a screwdriver that disappeared when we had some contractors in... feared the worst.

It was a stubby CK HD Classic #2 Ph, hard to find in the US.

Bought a Tekton to replace it

Then I found a CK just like the one I lost on Ebay & bought it...

Today I found the missing screwdriver in the ShitBox Honda, so now I have three stubby #2 Ph screwdrivers.
That's the trick I use to find my lost tools....buy a replacement and it will surely appear

Ooooh, NICE!

I've been eyeballing the $900 TopDon Pheonix that ScannerDanner has been pitching lately. Haven't seen the 'Phoenix Plus" though. I see now it's apparently been available on other places like Amazon but it just says "coming soon" on the TopDon website. lol
I think the Phoenix Plus is getting discontinued, replaced by Phoenix Elite. The pricing is significantly different between these two but the feature is not (unless you need CANFD protocol). The model Phoenix is the lower tier model with much small screen and features (probably why Topdon is discounting them on the website). I got my Phoenix Plus in the same price range as Phoenix but it has 10.1" screen and much better features (love the topology function).

Ok new to me...

First off, 8mm and 9mm ratcheting Williams Supercombo wrenches to add to the 10pc set I got a few weeks back...

Williams-8mm-9mm-ratcheting-SuperCombo.jpg

My Astro 100SL light and the GJ special offered free wireless charger to go with it have both showed up after a bit of an Amazon shipping snafu...

Astro-100SL-Light-52SL-Charger.jpg

Dewalt impact-ready magnetic bit holders. These are tried and true excellent. I've been using them for a couple years now and managed to lose/misplace two of them so I went ahead and bought a set of three.

(3) DEWALT DWA2SLVIR Impact FlexTorq Screwlocks.jpg

And I have a new machine to take care of where I was really wishing I had a metric set of angle wrenches, so I decided to go with Tekton. They are 'made in USA' & look good and should be perfect for what I need them for. Also got a BullTools 20 pocket tool roll to put them in but that turned out to be a big FAIL ...

Tekton Metric Angle Wrench Set (1).jpgBulltools 20 Pocket Wrench Roll .jpgTekton Metric Angle Wrench Set (3).jpg

The 30mm I was worried about was a bit tight but went in and after that it looked like it was going to be perfect until I got to the 14mm thru 18mm wrenches and they won't fit into the pockets. I have doubts I'm going to be able to find a roll to fit these things. No idea where I managed to get the one I have had my SAE set in for the past 25 years. I thnk it might have been given to me but IDK?

New tools from Northern Tool. Metric swivel socket set. Skips a few sizes but I’ll order those. 20mm deep 3/8 socket for my cart rail . 6 point. T35 torx bit for home. Can’t say I’ll ever need it but I bought one for work so I need one for home too. I’m genuinely curious as to what this would be used for and Northern Tool is the only place around me that sells it. Then two ratcheting wrenches 12 and 14mm. All of this costed me $70.50. I was like man Northern Tool sure is more expensive than HF. It’s always been that way though lol. I had originally went to look at stubby impacts but they were sold out of just about every air and power tool. Also went because I need some better wrenches than my Craftsman China. My coworker has a bunch of the older Klutch wrenches and he recommended them. The set I found was made in India so I had to take a pass on that one. The individuals were made in China but appeared a lot thinner than his and a high $$$$ tag. So probably will hunt other places for wrenches. I have a 6 point set on the way but want 12 point as well.

Skin Wedge trim tool.jpg
"Skin Wedge" trim tools in a 3-pack.
Currently the best price on these is from Aircraft Tool Supply Company
I paid more than I needed to by buying them from an Ebay seller (I wasn't aware of the ATS deal until after I'd already made the purchase.)
Either way: you're going to get a Taiwan-made unit.
They feel pretty stout - a lot stiffer and heavier than I had expected.

Here's a cheaper source if you spend $100 for "free shipping"

I got one years ago... and a vintage one from an aircraft guy retired... it has a bake-o-lite handle and is thinner stiff spring steel. Use them all the time. I can't imagine needing 3.

Some new tools from Auto Zone today. I convinced my friend to take me there on lunch lol. Really long 5/16x16 screwdriver. I have a 12 or 16 inch flat head on my cart but the tip isn’t the same size and these are a lifesaver for hard to reach hose clamps. The one on my cart is a 7/32 tip and it’s good for the smaller hose clamps but not the larger ones. Toyota oil filter tool for the house for moms Camry. I have one at work even though I’m a Subaru guy I still get stuck working on other stuff sometimes unfortunately. Then two sets of locking pliers for the house. As some of you may have seen my Pittsburgh ones gave out and almost caused the hood of our 2004 Camry to fall on me. So since I’ve had excellent luck with my little 4 inch pair of these Duralast vise grips at work I decided to go with them for the house too. I’ll eventually get the other two sizes when I need them. I was looking for some original Irwin/Peterson ones on eBay and the flea market but everyone wants so much for them it’s ridiculous. These in my opinion are on the same level as the Bremen line at Harbor Freight which are also really good.

Your new screwdriver made me think of this movie scene. Maybe you've seen it. Certainly, before your time though.
Always a funny reference for a larger than usual tool.

More tools appeared in the last few minutes lol. Made a trip to O’Reilly only because it’s the closest parts store to me to get some carb cleaner and leave with way more than that lol 😂. This is the only tools I got but I hadn’t planned on buying them but I need some of these so I got these to use until I get some to have at work then I’ll bring these home. If my parents were here I bet this would not have been purchased lol.

Pelican Pines - regarding the 3-pack of the 'Skin Wedge' tool said:

They're cheaper if you buy the three pack.
I gave two of them to my buddy (who does most of the work on my vehicles), because I know what he works on and how he works - one for dirty, one for clean.

He needed to punch a couple holes yesterday so I went down and picked up a couple drill bits. They had the files on sale. The drill bits were not on sale.

DPRD haul... PB swiss, Nepros, and Koken goodies - wonder if I chop off the end of the Koken wobble spinner handle if I will find the end of a socket extension?

Astro 1/2 nano sockets in metric and sae - not sure what took me so long to get these. Have used the 3/8 sets for the last 4 years. Cheapest on Zoro with a coupon.

I finally quit buying caliper hangers haha, kept shipping the damn things lol, now I just have a stash of cheap bungee cords,
I bought these from the dollar store years ago. Problem I have is I forget I have them & forget to use em (probably cause they're hanging on the back of my workbench out of plain sight). For hanging calipers that is, I've used em for hanging painted parts a couple of times.

I did exactly that when I was replacing my wheel bearings. I was trying all sorts of ways to keep the caliper up and out of my way. When I was done and putting away my tools I saw the hooks in the drawer just sitting there laughing at my *******

Snap-on metric wrench sets. Flank Drive Plus. 10-19 and 20-24. He gave them to me for a really good price so I was pretty happy about that. I’ve been wanting to upgrade my wrenches for awhile now and finally got to do so. I also have some 6 points coming in that are used but I got them just to have 6 point wrenches. I absolutely love Snap-on wrenches. Also 4 pairs of socks that I forgot to take pictures of lol.
