Today was a good tool day.

Picked up another set of Wera Allen wrench’s to leave in the car, a set of Facom 440 wrench’s (surprisingly light) for my road box, a Wera 1/2” ratchet (surprisingly heavy) to try out.

Then my snap on guy showed up with a pile of bits that I’ve ordered - a hivis #2 pozi to replace the one I borrowed out of the set in the kitchen, a pair of fender protectors, and two more of the long ratchet/box wrench’s.

I mentioned in passing it was typical that the sets of ratchet box wrench’s come up on offer when I finally bite the bullet and order some individuals…he hadn’t seen the offer, but said no problem, cancelled the order of individual wrench’s and did me the two sets at the offer price. One set was in stock, and the other should be in next week! The deal took it from about $1000 to about $380 for 10-19mm.





The facom wrench’s are surprisingly light and a rather unusual shape, they feel comfy in the hand but need to use them for a while to try, unfortunately the set is missing 21 and 23mm.

The Wera 1/2” Zyclop ratchet is heavy. It feels like it’s going to be VERY strong, I’m certain I could jump on this to release a fastner with no damage. The profile feels great in the hand, and the Wera logo on the release lever is a nice touch, it also has a fairly compact head. The 72t ratchet mechanism isn’t as nice as dual-80 out the box, hopefully it will bed in.

TBH, I have all these extra sockets, just not in Hazet.

I didn't know about it either. I was searching for decent price on the other set, and came across it...and I'm very glad I did. Hopefully you can get your hands on it for a good price, too.

I have plenty of the other sockets from other brands, as well, but I've become a big fan of their hex stuff (best fitting out there IMO), so why not add the 3/8 sockets to the collection haha

The first thing I checked with it against my better Fluke meters was DC voltage. For open circuit testing of batteries you definitely need accurate, two decimal place readings, and the 107 matched up very well against the other Flukes (a hundredth or two different, if that).

Box looks great! Are they taking care of you due to the damage? Looks like a dent on the left side on one of the drawers? That ***** and would annoy me.............I am assuming you waited a little while for delivery?

When I got mine I was afraid of this, or that they would call and say "surprise, we are early", and I would have to run home in a panic to meet them. I ended up renting a trailer and picking it up myself.

I'd bet the store manager will give you a little something for your trouble, whether or not it is their fault or not.

On under the bottom of the middle draw. it's kind of hard to tell in person or from pictures unless I point it out. Delivery took about 4 week since they didn't have it in stock at that time but came 2-3 weeks early than the date they estimated.

Stronghold was actually selling these table on Amazon direct for 1300.00 with free shipping. I think since than they have stop selling these direct on amazon and you can only get cabinets now. This is a awesome workbench and 7ga table top takes a beating.

Yeah the delivery guys was rocking my box as well and I thought it was going to fall on one of the guys. All they needed to do was align the box and get it on the lift gate but they went in at a angle and muscled it straight. They made the box rock like a seesaw. I want to saw these boxes are built pretty well for the price and all my draws were fine.

Spray lube is actually for the ZX11 headers which are rusting. Tried a spot with some on a rag:



Will need to take the fairings off to get the majority of the tubes.

I seem to collect flashlights. Amazon Prime Day had this one as a deal. It arrived today. Stock Photo... it SLIDES open to provide a rather nice flood light too. 2000 Lumens from the tip tho. It has ONE CON... it's heavy and if you quickly grab it by either end... it will slide open a bit and the flood light immediately comes on. I envision this thing accidently turning on in whatever location it exists... draining the battery... that said... it's bitchen.

Couple of orders arrived today.

First is a Wera Kraftform 817R Bit Holding Screwdriver, part # 05051482001. Been on backorder forever from Chad’s Toolbox, and he finally got his shipment from last year in.

Next is a Gearwrench 3pc 3/8” locking impact extension set that was on sale for Prime Day, part # 84927N. Came with 3, 6, and 12 inch extensions.

Last is a Snap-on TechAngle Micro Torque Wrench, part # ATECH1FS100, does 5-100 inch lbs. I found it on Facebook marketplace for $150. Wanted one of these forever but couldn’t justify the $690 new price. I tested it and it’s in calibration, too. Very happy with this little guy.

I went through that with my wife's Sequoia. It turned out to be not one single draw was at fault, but the combined total of several added up. She ended up getting an AGM battery with some reserve Ah, since she often leaves it parked for a couple of weeks at a time.

That’s a great set. I use the heck out of mine. From a professional standpoint they do really well. I’ll even admit I’ve used them on impacts many times never broke one. If one ever does break all I’ve got to do is send an email. A lot of people I’ve talked into buying that set have liked it so I think you will too.

Those are great torque wrenches. Most people sleep on Norbar torque wrenches.

Yeah well I bought a high end AGM with reserve Ah and whatever gremlin killed that battery in less than two weeks.

The previous owner of the truck before me owned it for two months and acted like an idiot broheim.

1. Viper alarm system with remote start. Installed by Best Buy.

2. HID headlights. Installed by Jiffy Lube. Yes, you read that right. Also never upgraded the projectors/housings so the light was scattering and blinding ever oncoming vehicle.

3. Double DIN head unit installed by "Jazz Up My Ride."

4. Raptor Lights in the grill, installed by "Jazz Up My Ride."

I suspect the significant parasitic draw is from #1. With a decent contribution to #3.

I've since deleted #2 and #4.

I prefer my snap on KRA15A wrench rails over the tool box widget wrench holders. Smaller footprint, personal preference.

The advantage these rails offer over say, the Ernst and other rails is that the slots are all the same size and the rail height is lower.
I really like the toolbox widget pliers holder. However, I think toolbox widget needs to offer the wide & narrow holders in separate sets instead of half & half in a single set. this allow to to get the right mix of holders tailored to your pliers collection.

Got my Epstein Day order, some new tools, and some old.


Starting with the old, scored this AMP PIDG crimpers for a crackhead deal. $15! You can expect to pay around $800 new for these crimpers. They were packaged in 1992, but they're well packaged and preserved. They're mint after cleaning off the wax preservative.







My humble Epstein day order. Didn't need much, but always happy to help a small business. I also need to show off the box art. It's my dog in a NASA suit.




From Mr. Snap On..their new brushless 3/8 long neck. The "new tool promo" included a "free" battery.





I also picked up SO's new design lineman pliers. I have a fetish for Snap On pliers, so I couldn't resist. The handles are chunkier than the previous versions, so comfotable to put a good squeeze onstuff.




Scored this on Ebay for $140. I have no idea why I convinced myself I needed this.



This Iroda heat shrink tool. I have other Iroda tools that I think are top notch butane tools. But this guy, is freaking awesome. By far the best tool I've used to heat up heat shrink. Works great on the adhesive lined thick stuff. It turns on damn near instantly and is an absolute joy to use. Highly reccomend.

I don't have any Matco socketry, so I figured I would give these two items a try. 1/4 drive Pinless swivel and semi deep socket. These were both their opti-torque lines..and I noticed no USA markings. Pretty dissapointed in that given the price point.



Knipex CutiX. It's a great blade and I like the re-inforced spine it provides to break away blades. $32 was a bit steep for what it is, but it's a cast german made body, so can't complain.



Was ordering some new safety wire pliers (which are on back order...) and came across these. Seemed like a handy tool, so I picked one up. If you look up clamp tite on youtube, you'll see how it works.



Needed a 1/4 impact nut setter set that included 1/2". Gave these a try at like $14, and they are junk. They seemed soft given how much the 1/2 deformed after four lag screws. Can anyone reccomend a high quality set similar to this?

Milwaukee sanding dust collector attachment. Gave this thing a try and it is awesome. It sticks to the wall via suction seal and ***** up whatever dust comes its way.




Another vacuum attachment. Nothing special other than a brush that can flip to use a soft or firm bristle brush.
