Some recent purchases.

Another example of a "custom" Snap On ratchet since they only sell these as bit drivers with the hard handle. I actually bought two as I wanted both versions. I typically only buy chrome handled ratchets as I despise grips of any sort on ratchets, but given that using them in the 90° setting let's it double as a ratcheting screwdriver the hard handle was acceptable.

Next a 1/4" torque wrench to match the 3/8" that I have.

And a MagMate hose holder for my air hose.

Plus some misc Koken stuff.

Some stuff from Advance Auto. What weekend would it be without me going to the parts store for tools lol 😂. DieHard metric wrench set. Mainly bought because I needed a little bit longer 12mm for some leverage. They had a NOS TEQ Correct wrench 12mm but it was almost as half the price as a set plus I like the DieHard wrenches for their copy of flank drive on the open end. And then a 1 1/2 inch extension I have the same one at work and this is just the right length for the bottom bolt on the water pump of my dads car. And then a 1/4 3/8 drive socket just because lol.

Please share how the long Die Hard wrenches perform. I'm on the fence about them. If they were Taiwan made instead of PRC made, I'd probably already have them. I really don't need any more wrenches but, I like their length with the anti slip open end. Thanks for sharing,

I paid $35 for a torpedo level, and surprisingly feel good about it. It extends out to 15 inches with milled ways, and as far as I can tell has at least 0.01” straightness when extended. Has the new lined bubble that indicate About an 1/8 per foot per line. I have a couple tough built sawhorses I like. Interesting company. Their stock (TBLT) is down 99.95% over the last 3 years. Going concern warnings, but they are still listed and have received last minute financing packages to save them so far. Hope they make it.

So far I like them pretty well. The length is great and the sizing is pretty accurate at least mine are. I also have a few I bought individually I’ve been using that do well too. Haven’t had any problems. Definitely a fan of the open end. I don’t believe they make a 9 or 11 though so hopefully you don’t need those sizes I wanted to get them as fill ins but they don’t have them.

Gotta love a good Craigslist posting. A guy who was an industrial mechanic was selling his tools off for cheap. I had originally just wanted the SK hex bit socket set for for 25 dollars. But he had everything on a table in the garage when I arrive and so after poking around the table some I added to the pile. All include the lot was 80. Which worked out perfect since that’s all I was carrying at the time. Anyone got a 15/16 12 pt rp wrench they trade for the 6pt?

Some new tools. Got the Husky stuff last night and the Diehard today. I love those little magnetic trays I have three at work and wanted one for the house. It’s all for the house. I use my lunch break to go around to auto parts stores lol. Had to get a new radiator cap for dads car. So I figured I’d get me some tools too. Wanted to try a DieHard ratchet but man the prices have went way up. What was a $29.00 ratchet two weeks ago is now a $37.00 ratchet. The radiator cap was $15.00 when we bought one about 5 years ago it was only $7 or $8. Crazy times man. Also wanted to get some gear oil RTV for my differential on my truck when I service it but $16 a tube ain’t happening so I’m ordering that through work to at least get a little bit off. That stuff used to be $9.99. I think the sockets are the only thing that haven’t seen an increase.

Trying real hard to refrain from buying any tools lately. But for 32 bux this sloppy seconds IR 317A made it through the barrier. No box but it never had a fitting installed before I got it. Was complete with tools and backer pads.

My latest Epstein goodness. I’m really excited about the 100 plus pocket screwdriver. Never thought I would see another one of those. My first box art.
Those 100 plus screwdrivers are great. I find them to be the best choice for the money when you want a flat head pocket driver. Plus the clip is removable/replaceable, and the shank is thinner, which i preferred when manually operating solenoid valves.

Do the 90 tooth conversions work for this model of ratchet? I bought the same set years ago when Grainger had that pricing error. Thought about trying to get a drop-in to increase the tooth count but maybe that would weaken the ratchet?

The blue Amazon van dropped off Gearwrench part number 81394 which is a 12 piece metric stubby socket set. six point, sizes 4-15mm, no 5.5mm. off corner engagement, nice chrome, no knurling on the base. overall length starts at approx 11/16 for the 4 mm and progresses up to approx 3/4 of an inch for the 15mm. The one thing I found odd on the packaging was where the set was made, "Product of Vietnam, finished in Mainland China". I haven't seen that on a Gearwrench product before. Gearwrench also offers a stubby 3/8 drive socket set. The Gearwrench set isn't as short as Ko-Ken Zeal series which run 14 - 15 mm long overall but, that might be a good thing in some applications. One also has to remember that most US Made 1/4 shallow sockets are approximately 7/8 of an inch long. whereas most of your Asian made 1/4 drive shallow sockets are close to or at one inch long so, Stubby might depend on what you're currently using. Just under $36 for the set. I wish Gearwrench would have included a 5.5 mm socket since it's fairly common on newer vehicles.
