I have a big stack of old bakeware in the shop for various uses. Mines garage sale and thrift store vintage!

Degreasing, soaking and sorting. True heros of the shop.

I do the same with used foil pans, plastic take-out containers, etc.

And, how do you both like it? I doubt you can get those in the US for under $2.
I just used it and it worked a treat installing the hose. The insert fits a couple hex sizes, and when you flip it over, it (apparently) fits the ring/nut on the bottom of the the tap.

Used it a few times, does what it says on the box :)
I was surprised by the size when it showed up from Amazon, for some reason I thought it was about half the size it actually is.

I noticed a smaller/cheaper/inferior looking Kobalt version at Lowes a few days ago.

Yeah, it’s pretty big. I was pleasantly surprised at how robust it seems. I got the Milwaukee for $1.47, because the DeWalt was out of stock…

I have quite a collection of black plastic trays from frozen food at Costco & Walmart etc. Even a couple of bus trays like they use in restaurants to clear the tables. Those are perfect for putting under motorcycle engines when you're cleaning them in the garage.

Btw, those aluminum ones I bought today were about $20, they sell also the two smaller ones individually.

So today was the day for my pilgrimage to the holiest of tool stores Harry Epstein. Picked up some SK, Wilde, Mayhew, Belzer, Bonney, Wright, Grayvik, Pratt-Read, Stanley, Barcalo, Lutz, Knipex, and Husky.
Some odd stuff to help round out the collection.

Got a $25 dollar HD gift cards for Christmas, didn't really need much from HD. So I decided I have this Urrea metric combination wrench set I bought years ago off Ebay to put in a tool kit to keep in one of the cars. It didn't come with 6,7,8 or 9mm wrenches. I remembered that HD sold Urrea tools, so I purchased the missing wrenches and got an extra 10 mm to use the entire $25 dollars gift card. Now the wrench set in complete, 6 to 19 mm with an extra 10mm. I don't think I have more than $50 in this set, including the $25 gift card. 20230214_160248.jpg20230214_160808.jpg

Lincoln 140 welder from Home Depot I’ve been eyeing for years. Noticed it was $210 off online for $589, usually $799. Went in to local HD and rang up for $799. Front manager would not price match, said it was an online special and would go against their over head at that price. She said I couldn’t online order it for pick up because their system wouldn’t allow it. I ordered it on my phone in front of her, had to wait around and two hours later order was complete. Picked it up and walk out right past her lol.

Welding cart is from HF and so far so good, will fab up a handle to push it around better.

New icon pliers for home, very impressed for the price. May take to the work and see how they hold up.

Also pliers for metal fab and welding sheet metal.

@amlv20 Those welders are listed for $589 (online) here, but no indication if that's the normal vs. sale price. There are very few to be found locally, I wonder if the model is being changed or discontinued?

yea thats what i found weird, i know its been $799 for almost two years and the 180 is $899 in store and online. look up lincoln electric 140 at lowes and its $799. ive been wanting it for a while but couldnt pull the trigger at that price, even the flux core only 125 version is $649 and this 140 machine i got does both mig and flux core. my bet its beeing changed, the weld pack comes with alot of extras.i guess theyll take them out and raise the price on the unit.

Careful, the C2 has a way making benches look small. Nice color choice by the way. Is that Rustoleum Hammered Grey?
Whatever grey they use. It may be a JET Wilton.

What are the dimensions of your bench? I was thinking of making something like 2.5' x 5' or 6'.

Oh, wow. That's a factory color. Crazy how similar it looks, right down to the hammered loom.

My bench is 2' x 4' but my shop is tiny so that's about all I could go. Since then that picture was taken, I've actually cut down the outriggers to narrow the footprint at the bottom and swapped the castor plates inward to shorten the length. It also allowed me to put leveling feet on.

Maybe there are different varieties/extras with certain ones? I just did a quick Google search, $589-ish seems to be a common price (Amazon, etc.).

Is the one at Lowe's the same as the HD model/package?

yes the 140 weld pack is sold under different names for different vendors, hd, promig, handy mig etc. they are all the same, crazy on HD to ring up for $799 at the register. i looked at it every time i was at my local HD stores and all showed $799, thats why when i saw it for $589 i jumped. i sold my forney 140 flux welder for $200 so for practically $389 i think i got a pretty damn good home welder that should last a while.

I ordered this the other night when I was thinking I want a shallow 3/8" setup, but now thinking I might not need it... I've said I want a 6mm 3/8", and that would cost about half what I paid for this (in the form of an SK for my 3/8 set)

Still working on tool kits for the vehicles. Got 4 of the made in Japan Craftsman driver handles on clearance. That’ll play well with the bit holders and Icon mini ratchet kits. The Milwaukee folding utility knife with storage seems best so far. And we pull trailers often and the price is good for the flip lug nut socket kit.

Urrea tools make me think of Urethra, and then I get grossed out.
At least Urine is STERILE... may smell bad... but you will be clean.

But yea... I think that too.
Made me think of urea

historically important in chemistry:

"In 1828, the German chemist Friedrich Wöhler obtained urea artificially by treating silver cyanate with ammonium chloride.

AgNCO + [NH4]Cl → CO(NH2)2 + AgCl

"This was the first time an organic compound was artificially synthesized from inorganic starting materials, without the involvement of living organisms. The results of this experiment implicitly discredited vitalism, the theory that the chemicals of living organisms are fundamentally different from those of inanimate matter. This insight was important for the development of organic chemistry. "
