As a plumbing engineer, in my opinion Uponor is the best stuff out there when it comes to PEX. Otherwise, go with copper and sweat fittings. Propress fittings are fine too, but I'm not a fan of sharkbite.

This is what I am getting that comes with everything. I will attach pictures of the broken one here shortly. I knew I was gonna have to figure the transition from the copper to the pex so I was torn between shark biting it or soldering. Then I thought if im already gonna have to solder why not just stick with copper. As far as the crimping goes I was just seeing there are two different styles of crimps like you mentioned. The ones that the tool goes around completely seemed to be better than the ones where you just pinch down the one side, but thats why im here asking to see which is the best to use lol. I am assuming the cinch rings are the ones that have the pinch type tool rather than the ones that wraps around the whole ring?

I don't buy fixtures from big box stores. They look the same as the "identical" part from a supply house, but they aren't. I bought a Price Pfister bathroom sink faucet that dripped right out of the box. Went back to Lowe's for a cartridge. Nope. "No gots. Can't get them. Made for Lowe's." I went home, boxed the faucet back up, returned it, went to the local supply house, paid $5.00 more and got a REAL version of the same faucet. (I replaced the cold side cartridge last week after over 20 years of service.)

Yup, and that's true for many other items besides faucets. The supply houses are in business to keep their contractors happy. Often the parts will have a "model number" which is the same at the big box store and the supply house, but if you look into the details the "part number" is different between the two. And sometimes that part number is hard to find on the outside of the box.

Do yourself and the next occupant a favor and create an access panel on the back side if you can, so future problems will be easier to handle.

Well the tub and walls my wife want are a special order from HD so that has been put on hold. I got pulled to remodel a bedroom for my son until we can get to the bathroom. Wasnt bad, laminate flooring fresh paint and new floor trim. Still eagerly awaiting to use my new pex crimping tool haha that was part of my excitement for the bathroom
