I want to start by saying I'll still be here on GJ.

It's with a heavy heart that I announce I'll be shutting down my Matco tool truck. Things are not good at my wife's work. Unfortunately I don't make enough to support the family & provide insurance on my income alone. I do this to support my family, nothing more & nothing less. I'll be running a fire sale on the remaining inventory. Anyone in the Dallas area is welcome to come & see what's left.

Sorry to hear. Matco tools are great stuff, great tools move out and imports move in. Good luck to you and family.

I certainly hate to hear about your misfortune. I know what it's like to have to give up on a dream. I had my shop open for about 2 years full time, turned out putting me more in a bind than I could manage. I shut it down from being full time and let my help go and am back to doing it on the side. Have the best of luck in whatever you do.

That's crappy to hear (and heard too often), but sometimes when a door is closed, a window is open. Hopefully you can look back in a couple years and say you're better off.

Keep your chin up.

Thanks guys, it truly means a lot.

This morning was hard. My wife & I discudded it heavily last night. Appearently she told my daughters & the both made sure to hug me this morning & tell me things would be OK.

That's the most important part!

Good luck in whatever comes your way!

That stinks, hopefully it works out for the best.
Being slow and self employed is a feeling I know also. Its bad around here and I might be looking in the near future also.

Absolutely best of luck to you Dave. I have always appreciated your responses and insight on this forum. You were always a straight shooter. Your customers are losing a great tool man.

Dave,That must have been a hard decision to make. I was in your exact shoes a couple years ago for the same reasons when I shut down my Mac Business.

Was tough for me to go to work for the man after I had been on my own for that long. But at the end of the day you can leave work and not have to take it home anymore.

Hope you score a new gig that you will enjoy.

That ***** that you have to shut down! It shows great character of a man tho who puts the needs of his family before his own.

Dave, I always enjoyed reading your comments and opinions, covering MATCO items in particular.

I hope your years of experience serves you and your future employer well

I wish you and your family all the best.
