I just got an estimate yesterday to get a side door put into my garage. I'm trying to wrap up a few other house projects before moving to a much overdue garage renovation. The estimate I received was about $400 to cut out the new door and hang the new door in the opening. With me buying the door obviously. I could do this myself but when it comes to cutting a new hole in my home I tend to get alittle nervous especially when dealing with vinyl siding on the other side. I want to see pictures of your doors because my foundation has maybe a 10-12 inch lip to the garage floor. I wasnt trying to put a step into the garage or possibly cut into the foundation but will if needed. Under where that bike tire is I wanted to put the door. About a 32" door would allow it to open without banging into a car. What are your thoughts about that foundation step issue? If you have pics of your door it would help.
