Hi Gang,
I'm going to build a small 16 foot wide and 10 foot deep shed along the fence in the back yard.
My first question is about the slope for the roof - I want the front of the shed to be 9 feet high and the back wall to be 8 feet high.
So that would give me a 1 foot slope over the 10 foot depth ........
For framing all four walls up, is it cheaper/easier to just buy standard 92 5/8 studs and build all four walls on the 8 foot mark for the
whole thing and then add on a 1 foot pony wall on top of the front 16 foot wall?
Then run the roof joists down as normal and build in the sloped gable ends on each of the 10 foot side walls as fill in pieces too.
OR frame up the front wall to the 9 foot height with longer studs and also the two side walls with the studs to match the slope as well?
I think pony wall will be faster and easier to do - what do you think?
I'm just costing it out now so no biggie ......
Cheers'
