They look great allinon.

Just a quick note, I had considered doing recessed lighting in my garage, but then I realized that the room above it is already cold enough and I didn't want to start poking holes in the ceiling to let more cold air perpetrate. Not sure if it will be an issue for you, but something to consider.

Those wall cabinets turned out really nice. I'd never thought of using a cabinet like that in the garage, but it's a good idea. Plenty of storage there, and after panting them, they look really good.

I've added a surge protector and drawer liner in the cabinets....so I'm pretty much finished

Well done! Fits great in your garage, and you have a good place for all of your bigger power tools. Is the surge protector inside the box or outside?

They look perfect. I know what you mean about them "fighting you". That's the story of my life when a hose or extension cord is involved.

It is inside. I drilled a hole in the bottom of the cabinet and cut off the plug on the surge protector. Put a rubber grommet in the hole and fed the wire through. Then I put a reusable male plug end on.

Are your battery chargers always on?

Could kill the batteries if your storing them in the chargers always on.

just my $0.02

You could power the chargers with a timer. Another member posted his charger station that had a selectable time button (2,4,6,8 hours) that was wired in the box that fed the plugs. I will have to try to find the link, I posted something in that thread.

I've always kept them on the chargers most of the time and never had a problem. Im pretty sure the chargers are designed not to overcharge.

Look great, fellow indy resident. Your garage looks VERY similar to the one my buddy had when he lived on the south side, well until you fixed up yours, now yours looks kick ***!

New member, first thread I clicked on, and wow.. Incredible build. Well done, OP. Hope you can get your floor figured out, as well as re-do your upper workbench storage, as those additions will top it off!

Congrats on a killer 1-car.

That's great work and the vice turned out awesome!!! Glad to see another Indy person on here. Where is the Re-Store located? I need to find some storage stuff and maybe some fluorescent light fixtures.

The restore is on 22nd Street on the north side. It's in a not so nice area.

The workbench top is working out great besides me drilling through it on accident. It's actually bamboo so it's very hard.

I'm hoping to have the floor sorted out this winter or spring. Depends if I pour new concrete or do Racedeck over the existing concrete.

While we're on the topic of the floor, here are the options I'm weighing:
- Jackhammer all the concrete out and repour. I would then finish it smooth with some type of clear topcoat
- Try to level the floor with some leveling cement and and put Racedeck Freeflow over the top. This wouldn't be a permenant fix as the existing concrete is completely broken near the door
- Leave the existing floor there, put down Racedeck Freeflow and deal with the unlevelness.

Obviously a repour is going to be the most expensive but probably the correct thing to do. I like the fact that I could do the Racedeck in a day. I do a lot of woodworking in the garage, so Freeflow would help with the dust being tracked around.

I use Rustoleum 2x. It goes on thick and smooth. I follow up with the same brand clear coat.

You painted them with spray?! They look great. Every time I try painting with spray paint it never turns out looking as good as your cabinets do! Good job.

Yes. I've been spray painting since I was like 12...that said they are not perfect but with this type of spray paint I can get a pretty good finish that is also durable.

Been working on my next project. Since I put the blue cabinets where my hardware bins used to be, I needed a new place for those. I have also outgrown them so I picked up two more. I also wanted to fix a problem of them sagging from the weight of the hardware. Solution is this cabinet of sorts that I whipped up from scrap oak plywood from a recent project. Finished pics this afternoon.

Got some new equipment in the garage thanks to some generous family members. First is a Bluetooth speaker, self contained with a sub and everything. Definitely an upgrade over my crappy ihome. Second is a Hobart 140 mig.

I was recently looking at a similar Pyle system for my single. I like it, not too much clutter with speakers etc.

Any plans on the first project with the mig?
