6m x 3m.

started off with.

%255BUNSET%255D.jpg

the bench on the left and the shelves on the right were left by previous owner.

%255BUNSET%255D.jpg

fitted a new boiler outside and got the original hiding in the corner to the scrap man who gave me a bit of cash :D

bit of a rearrangement but same kit
%255BUNSET%255D.jpg

had a clear up

%255BUNSET%255D.jpg

picked up some sound.
%5BUNSET%5D.jpg

picked up record numbers 4 and 5 after destroying my cheapo vice.

garage2.jpg

picked up a midbox for my toolbox.

%255BUNSET%255D.jpg

put in some highlevel shelving. Somepoint around here i had a big 12mm^2 cable installed and a seperate consumer unit in the garage fed off a 40amp breaker. in the house. as i found the previous owner had wired the lot into a 6amp lighting ring main using 1.5mm^2 cable.... and i was running a 160amp welder off that :S - wasnt trippign the old fuse board but the cable was getting hot and stretching massively in the spare room sagging between the cable clips in the cupboard.

%255BUNSET%255D.jpg

picked up a much needed drill press.

%255BUNSET%255D.jpg

ditched all my floor mounted shelves and cleared out alot of garbage. fitted a big 6ft deep shelve above the garage door. as it was wasted space before as the door opened there anyway.

%255BUNSET%255D.jpg

built my self a taller bench (im taller than most and the left behind bench was just that bit too low.)

%255BUNSET%255D.jpg

Laminate flooring for the bench top and my record number 5 going in.

%255BUNSET%255D.jpg

lick of paint on the bench and a back board attached. Absolutely SOLID

%255BUNSET%255D.jpg

built the second bench along the back and got my press in place , the other vice mounted and bolted down my bench grinder on the LHS

%255BUNSET%255D.jpg

current incarnation - very nice place to work now compared to before - the pile on the RHS is the bits of my land rover project that are not on the truck and may take legs in the garden - ie the desirable bits. Got 2 engines hiding in there a gearbox , the roof and rear panel , all the interior and all my new parts waiting to be fitted. - once i get all that back on the truck / skipped - ill have a huge swathe of room back.

Ah another Scot at it :)

Good work so far, and a smart move to get the big cables run in there ;)

cheers , the whole house got rewired due to finding so many bodged wiring jobs i just wasnt happy with.

i was finding twisted wire pairs and black tape in downlighter circuits wired up with twin flex.not a lock block or junction box in sight - the shower was on regular 2.5 twin an earth - of which the live was scorched back along its length inside the shower.....

spent 2 weeks with a buddy of my dads labouring - learnt loads about sparkying and what can/cant be done.

lucky i walked into this house with my eyes wide open , on the surface it looked like a ready to move into place - in reality ive had to fit all new heating and rewire + the redecoration that comes with that.... .hence my LR projects been dormant for 2.5 years :(

even better place to work now.....

its rainy season (more so than normal) have been rained off working all week , last night was a dry night so i emptied the garage and binned alot of stuff and reorganised stuff so i had floor space to work on my bulkhead - standing on end to the rhs of below.

Amazing your drill press does not have holes drilled in the table.. Was taken care of. Well done.

Nice work! I know how you feel, currently have most of a torn down 110 Defender in my single garage. It takes up a lot of room…Hoping to make room over the next couple of weekends to get my bulkhead inside for a welding session before its trip to the galvanizers!

nice.

i dont trust my welding enough to take it to the galvanisers.

if it fails again in a few years ill likely buy a galv chassis and bulkhead - will be an easy job compared to this time where everything needed work .

drill press came from the orkney GPO workshop i beleive - its an unstoppable machine , really handy for alot of things.

its 10ft wide by 20ft long

big enough that ive worked on regular euroboxes inside in the past but not big enough for

%255BUNSET%255D.jpg

it "will" go in when the front is empty ....but you cant really work on it as it leaves 2ft down each side just and 6 ft at the back of the garage. A carport is going to be built out the back before my next project UNLESS i get enough days away next year to build a double garage as part of a kitchen/diner extension and turn this one into a mud/utilityroom for the bikes/washing machine/dirty shower

%255BUNSET%255D.jpg

tidied the and swept the bench last night - the only things left on it now is my landy brakes/parts for my landy brakes - had meant to get my pliers racks finished but my buddy came round with his polo which was misfiring - looks like he will need new plugs shortly.

must get the floor painted next summer.
